James Blair - Chester Co., South Carolina
I recently received a DAR application from a deceased aunt and would like to fill in some blanks.
Looking information on a James Blair who served in the troops of South Carolina as a Cavalryman and infantryman for 173 days from June 1780 to 1782.
He apparently was born in County Down, Ireland 1753 and was resident of Chester County, South Carolina according to the 1790 census. He died in Chester Co., SC in either 1796 or 1812.
He was married to Margarat Jenkins.
Children:
William Blair -- (B. 1775) -- Married Margaret Morton
James Blair -- (B. 1789) -- Married Jane Neille
Martha Blair -- (B. 1773) -- Married Alexander Morton
Jane Blair -- (??) --- Married Richard Wyatt
Sarah Blair -- (??) --- Married Robert Carey
At some point, there is an Alex Blair who was the father of Cora Bell Blair who was my gradmother (B. July 5, 1875 - near Benton IL., D. 1957 or 1958 or 1959? near Sparta, IL.).
Any information that anyone can provide to attach me to a Blair tree or steer me in the right direction to fill in the holes will be grealty appreciated.
