BLANKE/BLANKEN

Please can someone help me.

My husband's ggg.grandfather Johann Hinrich BLANKEN arrived in London 2nd September 1836 from Hamburg on the ship Columbine. I estimate his year of birth to be abt. 1823 taking into account various UK census. He married Sarah Jenner 29 Jan 1843 and on the marriage certificate his father is Henry, occupation Farmer. He died in London 19 April 1871, age 48. We believe he may have come from Kirchtimke or Neudorf, but cannot be certain of either.

Would be grateful for any help at all.

Pearl

John L. Blanking was a postman when he married Mary Ellen Elphinstone.

They could have got a divorce-different than prior information. Is there a way to check on divorces between 1939 and 1941 in Wales??

Blanken in England

My mother-in-law Mary Ellen Jeffery b. 1916 was previously married to a Louis (???) Blanken.

The story is that she was working in a pub in Hertfordshire for her grandfather Charles Elphinsone. Mary Ellen Elphinstone was young and met up with Louis ? when she was of a young age. Louis ? was said to be a lot older.

Mary Ellen Blanken ran away from this marriage. Louis was deceased sometime between 1940 and 1950.

Would like to put together this part of her life and see if anyone had pictures of her during her marriage. In later life Mary Ellen Jeffery suffered from alzheimers and we are not sure of all the information.

Any help or guidance sincerely appreciated!
