Hafa Adai , My name is Kevin Pablo Blas I've been googling this site for a while and I thought I would finally post here. I am trying to look for and find family from my Blas side. And also my family name. I am 32 currently stationed in Germany.

My father is Angel Rios Blas, born and raised in Guam which he still resides. He is a retired Federal fire Captain and currently works at BX in Anderson AFB. And he loves his Harley's. My Mother Julia Quituga Pablo Blas also resides in Guam as well currently working at naval hospital.

If there is any Blas out there that knows my parent and or are related it would be nice to hear from my Blas side of the house.

Hi Josephine,

My name is Maria, and I am also a Blas. My father is a Blas from "decha" in Sinajana as well! His father was Joseph Blas and from what I can remember, I remember his mom's name being Maria... I am not too sure so I can ask him if anything?
From what my dad told me, my great-grandfather married twice. and my grandfather also did as well... I'm very interested in knowing all these connections so hopefully, we can help each other!

Yep, I'm the same person....My sisters brought your Dad up to Sumter to meet us back in 1978 or 79.....yes SC is South Carolina....I'm not sure if I'd be your uncle or cousin.....Your Grandfather and my Father were Half Brothers (Same father, different mother) ...So your Dad and I are First Cousins,,,We don't have any family in San Francisco that I know of, but I have a sister in Truckee (north of Sacramento) about 30 miles or so from Reno, Nevada...Also some cousins, I think are down near San Diego...Also a younger brother and younger sister, I think in Montana or Wyoming,,,,they move around so much, I can't keep track of them

So is this the same Joe I was just talking to? I'm sorry, the account name was different so I'm not sure. But yes! He told me about how he joined the military and what not. He would probably remember now if I tell him all this. This is nice! So you would also be my Uncle? is SC, South Carolina?? I'm in Guam now just for summer but will be going back to SF for school. Do we have any family there??

I would be his first cousin... If it is the same Joe, ask him about the cousins he visited in SC while he was in the Army,,,,I am the one that was in the Air Force stationed at Shaw AFB in SC.....I am retired now, back to working near Shaw, in Sumter SC... Are you in Guam now or California?

Forgot to mention.. the joe blas you met about 20 years ago, is my dad! I have a step dad now, but my dad is doing very good with many more kids. he says that because theres so many joe blas from our relatives, hes a little lost, but I'm sure if I tell him more about you, he'll remember. Are you his cousin, nephew or uncle?

Hi Maria, You're right about our names being are very common. Somewhere you and I are related, I am also part of the DECHA family. The only other Joseph that I personally know (Met him over 20 years ago) is Joseph B. (I think) Blas, his dad is Guamanian and his mom is Japanese, He has 2 sisters, but I don't remember their names and 1 brother that passed away years ago (Before I met him). His dads name was also Joe. My dads name was Domingo Cabrera Blas, he left Guam in 1942 or 1943, joined the American Navy, Met my mom in SC, and never returned to the Island....

Hello to all the Blas out there. My name is Maria Blas. My father is Joseph Blas and I know these two names are very very common especially out here on Guam. We're from DECHA and I have no idea who I am actually related to. I know some of my aunties, uncles and cousins but most of them I am not familiar with or wouldnt even recognize from names... Rupert Bläs, b. ~ 1675, lived in southern Germany

My surname is Bliss but I have traced it back to a man named Rupert Bläs who was born in the late 1600s. He served as a soldier in Vogelbach, Germany, and in 1714 he was living in Brucken, Germany. He married a woman named Anna Klara and they had 9 children.

Some of his children went by the surname Blees, which makes me think Rupert may have been born in a different country... maybe Austria?

Any possible relatives out there?

My Mother's(Lucy Hernandez y Vidal) Father(Jose Maria Blas y Hernandez) and his Father was (Juan J. Blas y Jordan). Both are in the 1910 Census of Aguadilla Puerto Rico. And My Mother's Mother (Teresa Vidal Rosado) mother was (Trinidad Rosado y Blas) they are also on the 1910 Census in Puerto Rico. All of them say there Parents Parents were born in Puerto Rico. If this is Any help let me know if you are related.

Valerie, From what I understand, the BLAS name originated in Spanish Royalty (Way Back) made it's way through the Islands when the Spaniards were exploring the world,,,,Blas surname can be found also in Puerto Rico, Cuba, Mexico etc. My father was born on Guam, Son of Jose and Rosa Cabrera Blas. Has a few Brothers and Sisters. Lourdes, Frank and Matias I thing were full brothers and sisters. I am looking for information regarding Maximillian BLAS or BLASS, his spouses and/or descendants.

d. 10 April 1913 at the Central Branch, National Home for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers, Dayton, OH

He served with the 20th Battery Ohio Light Artillery from 1862 through 1865; according to the 1900 Census, he came to the U.S. in 1858.

Maximillian BLAS appears to have at least three spouses.

Regina HARTINGER (b. before 1880) on 14 November 1860 on Cuyahoga County, OH.

Mary SCHUMANN on 15 October 1876 at St. Stephens Catholic Church in Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, OH.

at some point "this family" was around the Paterson NJ area;

maybe you can ask your parents or grandparents and your fiancee's parents or grandparents if they or just maybe they might know some who might know my parents. My mother is (Felicita Blas Blas) from Sinajana and her parents are (Jose Santos/Maria Iriarte Blas) also from Sinajana. My mother married my dad Alfred H. Wolford from Talafofo. My grandma Maria Iriarte Blas parents are (JOSE ESPANOSA BLAS/JOSEPHA GARRIDO IRIARTE), and JOSE ESPANOSA BLAS parents are (MR. BLAS/ROSA ESPONOSA)and JOSEPHA GARRIDO IRIARTE parents are (THOMAS IRIARTE/MISS GARRIDO) this is all I know about the (IRIARTE-BLAS-GARRIDO) family. I just thought that a few names might help.
