James blyth was born in 1812 in the parish of mains in the county of forfar Scotland.To parents William blyth and Ann Graham
He enlisted in the 21st regiment of the royal scottish fusiliers on the 09.07.1831 and went to van demons land before coming to the swan colony in western australia in 1833
He was discharged 31.07.1840 and proceeded to breed a very large family.
