Dear Murray:
I am one of the many descendants of the Irish Bobbett. In 1998 I had the opportunity to know Ireland and my ascendancies. As for the Bobbett that you mention, I know correctly which is the branch that was for New Zealand. The birthplace of the Irish Bobbett is Ashbourne, Co. of Meath, to forty kilometers of Dublin. In that opportunity, Julia Bobbett the oldest of all in Ireland, it provided me the genealogical tree of our family.
My great-grandfather called William, the same as yours, alone that mine came to the Argentina with his cousin Thomas O´Connor around 1873, where he settled down and it formed his family. In Argentina, we are very few those that take the last name, my father, my father's cousin, my cousin and my two brothers (Thomas and Charles).
In the next e-mail, I promise to send you scaned the genealogical tree indicating you which you are those that left for New Zealand. Also, I will send you addresses so that you contact yourself with the Irish Bobbett and the pictures of my family.
A strong hug.

Mario Bobbett

Hi Mario,
I am Julia Bobbett's Niece and Goddaughter, I did not meet u when u were here with the Tall-Ships in 1999-due to ill-ness: however recently Marta Cortes Funes From the Argintine who is living in England,found me on the net as I am RESEARCHING 'MY O'CONNOR' LINE. We were to meet up this week-end but now it will be later in the Month;
Marta is from the line of Patrick O'CONNOR brother of William and George.I dont want to confuse you with the O'Connor/Bobbett connections;
I dont think the O'Connor/bobbett line are connected to my O'Connor's;But u never know;
I have researched MY LINE of O'CONNOR'S from 1833---2005,AND Marta is interested in the O'CONNOR line as well, Do u know her;? I would be very grateful if you would contact me with any information u have on the O'CONNOR brother's in the Argintine/Chile.as it may help us to sort information I have gathered . I hope to find where my gggg-granfather Bryan O'CONNOR was born in Kerry.and married in Tipperary;
RE the Bobbett/O'Connor's I was Told that they came from Kildare but I have a hunch that they may from have originated in Kerry;I look forward to hearing from you ,I have heard Auntie Judy talking of You,and I remember when u were in Ireland, She is a wonderful woman and was 86 last August.Please EMAIL ME directly maroconnr@hotmail.com
Happy New Year to you and your Family.Mary O'CONNOR
