William Jacob Boesch, Jr.his parents, William Jacob Boesch, Sr. and Dorothy Call Boesch.

William Jacob Boesch, Jr., of Millcreek, died on March 13, 2011. Bill, born in Erie, Pa., on August 28, 1945, was predeceased by his parents, William Jacob Boesch, Sr. and Dorothy Call Boesch. Bill had a sure faith in and great love for his Heavenly Father, and in a note to Him in 2008, Bill, gave thanks saying, "Our Father, I thank you for the Gift of Life which you have given me. I do not completely understand exactly what this life's purpose is but I do know that there are so many happy and exciting experiences that I have enjoyed as I've set out from the beginning to its end, exploring this greatest adventure which is called my life. Thank you for allowing me to explore your creations. It certainly has been an incredible adventure." Bill is survived by his children, Kimberly Boesch Miller and Eric, of McKean, William Boesch, III and Susan, of Millcreek, Kristine Boesch of Mill Village, and Brent Boesch and Lisa, of Grove City. He is also survived by his loving sister, Diane Boesch, of Millcreek. Grandchildren include Katherine Miller Braithwaite and Lucas Miller, Alexander and Joshua Boesch, Jacob, Anna, and Emily Hardinger, Hunter and Jonathan Perry, Hannah Boesch and Jonah Baybrook; and two great-granddaughters, Gabrielle and River Hardinger. As the owner and operator of Bill's Carburetor Shop, Bill pursued his fascination with how things work. He wrote essays, poetry, invented songs on his guitar, left detailed notes on inventions, nurtured struggling plants to stronger life, and even made pancakes for crows in his neighborhood. He watched carefully the family life of his "tenants" as the Spring birds took up residence in his backyard. He loved nature and took his sons on an adventure in the mountains just south of Erie, as they experienced two weeks of "living off the land". Lines from one of his poems convey the joy and peace he found there. I find myself, one summer's night, Deep within the woods I love, Beneath a sky, filled shining bright, With stars and moonbeams, high above. So far away from city lights. No sound - except this heart of mine Which sings a song, to my delight, On gentle breezes laced with pine. Throughout the night, well into dawn, My spirit soars with pleasures found. Within this peaceful mountain place, Rays of sun caress my face. As into morning did I walk Through paradise - down ancient path, And crossed a brook which softly spoke, In silver tongues, of days long past. Bill was even more passionate in sharing with those he met, what he had learned of God's love for us, and prayed that we reflect the love Our Father and Lord Jesus have shown to us by the things we say and do to others. He wrote, "Only through my action may I even begin to thank You, Heavenly Father, for what You have done for me. Only through my action do I begin to show the sincerity of my thankfulness." Bill stated his belief, "Love, compassion and forgiveness are the keys to unlock the gates of happiness, the same three wonderful things that Our Heavenly Father gives, in such abundance. He wants to share them with you and I want to help." So, Bill often left these thoughts with those he encountered. Family and friends are invited to visiting hours at Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 West 38th Street, Erie, on Thursday, March 17 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The funeral will be held on Friday, March 18 at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church at 32nd and Greengarden Blvd, officiated by Rev. Brian Moran. Internment will be in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery Erie Times-News on March 16, 2011.

Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church ."
Boesch connection to Basch line?

I've just found a letter mailed to my father in the late 70's with a very extensive tree done - none match what I'm searching unfortunately.

However, in this letter, the author states that the original spelling of my maiden name, Basch, is actually Boesch. I'm looking for any connections between the two with names such as Harry Leo Basch/Boesch, Elizabeth Casmay Basch/Boesch.

Thank you

I am searching for any information on a Henry Boesch who may have immigrated (possibly from Switzerland) sometime between 1850 and 1862. He settled in Chicago and was in the hardware business in Chiago with Ferdinand Geissler (who
also went by Frederick Geissler).

Info I have is very minimal but he had a son Lebrecht and daughter Mariette Elizabeth (or possibly Elizabeth Mariette)
both of whom were born in Switzerland (Mariette in 1849).

Mariette was my great-grandfather's second wife and died in 1882 in Chicago.

Any Help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very very much for your kindness...I'll have to read the letter sent to your dad many many times and see what I can find..I know my grandfather was from Alsace-Lorraine region..and migrated to New Orleans, but I always thought my roots were french not german...I'm more confused than ever....As you said, I realize this tree doesn't have anything to do with your research, but I appreciate your prompt reply to my request..thank you very much..I'll let you know if I ever find out my roots...God bless you....Maria

I found this site and your message few minutes ago....I've been looking for my family roots for a couple years (on and off)...looking for my grandfather Jean-Pierre Boesch..he was from Alsace Lorraine region, french-german border..emigrated to New Orleans, where he married a french lady. then traveled to Honduras, Central America, where he met my grandmother...but I don't have any dates or any more information...that is all I have....Does the letter mailed to your father mentioned a Jean-Pierre or a Louis Jean-Pierre Boesch??
Please let me know..I'll appreciate it very very much..Thank you...Maria
