      <title>BOLASH William E. 1942-2011 Mahoning County, Ohio</title>

      <description>STRUTHERS – William “Bill” Edward Bolash, 68, of Liberty, Ohio passed away Monday afternoon, Jan. 10, 2011, in Savannah, Ga., while returning home from a vacation in Florida.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Bill was born on Dec. 12, 1942, in Youngstown, Ohio a son of Stephen and Ruth Bolash.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;He was raised in Struthers, Ohio was a graduate of the Struthers High School Class of 1960 and attended Kent State University.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;After graduating in 1960, Bill enlisted in the U.S. Navy, served as a corpsman and retired in 1989. During his years with the Navy, he traveled and lived in a variety of places, including Guam; Charleston, S.C.; Norfolk, Va.; Bethesda, Md., and Oakland, Calif. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;While serving in the Navy, he was especially honored to serve as medical support and ride in the ambulance in President John F. Kennedy’s funeral procession in 1963. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;He served in Viet Nam and was aboard the USS Repose when the ship was involved in the 1967 rescue of the USS Forrestal after a rocket exploded on its deck, killing 134 sailors and injuring 161.  &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;He was a life member of the VFW, a current member of VFW Post 2799 in New Springfield and a former officer and quartermaster of Struthers VFW Post 3538 and was a former officer of Coitsville VFW Post 7600. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Bill was the owner of the The Sub Shop in the WRTA building in downtown Youngstown during the 1990s and previously worked for U.S. Steel, 7Up Bottling Co. and Lance Inc. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Bill was active with the Struthers Class of 1960 alumni, which met for breakfast regularly. &lt;br&gt;Above all, Bill loved and cherished his dogs, especially his Basset Hounds, which he treated like his children.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Bill was preceded in death by parents and a brother, Stephen John Bolash Jr.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;He leaves his wife, the former Linda Walters, whom he married Sept. 2, 1984; five sisters, Nancy Johngrass and Margie Ellis, both of Struthers, Ohio; Ruth (Richard) Shipley of Lowellville, Ohio, Donna (Richard) Parker of Lake Milton, Ohio and Carole Zoll of Rapid City, S.D.; two brothers, Donald (Kathy) Bolash of Austintown, Ohio and James (Debbie) Bolash of Ft. Myers, Fla.; a father-in-law, Findley Stutler (Peggy McClimet) of Columbiana, Ohio; and brothers- and sisters-in-law, Crystal and Clarence Sickelsmith of Columbiana, Gary and Mary Stutler of Jackson, Michigan, Jay and Wendy Stutler and Findley Stutler Jr., all of Phoenix, Denise Stutler and Lee Wishman of Edin, Texas, and Charlotte and Dan Campbell of Sagle, Idaho.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;A memorial service will be held on Wednesday at noon at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home in Struthers, where family and friends will be received one hour prior to the service. &lt;br&gt;A luncheon will follow at the VFW Triangle Post 2799, 3161 E.       <title>Jean BOLASH Evans 1925-2010 b. Struthers, Ohio</title>

      <description>&lt;br&gt;POLAND – Jean E. Evans, 85, formerly of Struthers, Ohio died Sunday morning, at St. Elizabeth Health Center. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Mrs. Evans was born Feb. 18, 1925, in Struthers, Ohio a daughter of John and Mary Klucher Bolash. She was a life-long resident of Struthers until moving to Poland, Ohio in 2006.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;She was a 1942 graduate of Struthers High School and attended Youngstown State University. Mrs. Evans worked as a secretary for AETNA Standard and for Capital Airlines. In the early 70s, she was a reading tutor for the Struthers City Schools.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;She was a member of the Wives of the U.S. Submarine Veterans of World War II and a member of the Sennet Reunion Group. Mrs. Evans was presently a volunteer at Sunrise Assisted Living in Poland, Ohio and a member of the Struthers Class of 1942 Reunion Committee. &lt;br&gt;She was a former member of St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church in Struthers. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Mrs. Evans was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling throughout the years with her husband and family. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Her husband, William Evans, whom she married Feb. 28, 1948, died Jan. 5, 2008.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;She leaves four daughters, Gwyneth (John) Basista of Poland, Ohio, Dr. Lynne (Dr. David) Cola of Akron, Ohio; Megan (Brian) Martin  of Youngstown, Ohio and Kristine (Atty. Anthony) Siciliano of New Middletown, Ohio; one sister, Olga Lacey of Commerce, Ga.; one brother, William Bolash of Chicago; and 11 grandchildren, Douglas Basista, Kate Basista, Matthew Basista, Kristin Cola, Heather Cola, Bonnie Cola, Cindy Martin, Jeffrey Martin, Vincent Siciliano, Nicole Siciliano and Anthony Siciliano.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Besides her parents and husband, Mrs. Evans was preceded in death by one daughter, Pamela Evans Spencer; two sisters, Mary Burns and Veronica Jessey; and four brothers, Stephen, John, Aldrich and Cyril Bolash.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Memorial services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church with Father Bernard Bonnot officiating. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Family and friends will be received Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Poland, Ohio.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Visit &lt;a href="http://www.beckerobits.com" target="_blank"&gt;www.beckerobits.com&lt;/a&gt; to send condolences.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Youngstown Vindicator&lt;br&gt;31 Aug 2010</description>

      <description>I know of an Aaron Bolash, born to Ruth Bolash in 1983. I am Krystal Bolash, His daughter. I know that I had a grandfather John Bolash who died when my father was young. I also have two uncles named John Bolash whom I believed to have lived in Va. I'm trying to find any information on my family as possible as well. Take care and God bless.</description>

      <description>Hello John,&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;my name is debbi bolash-eversole, i live in va. i am trying to find info about the bolash history. my grandfather george elleck bolash died in 1947 at 45. he was born in ironwood, michigan. i know his parents were from hungary, i think my great-grandmothers name is mary. my grandfather had siblings but i dont know any names, i was just wondering if you know anything about my family.</description>
