Did Samuel Bornstein live in upstate NY?

Louis Bornstein was born about 1870 and came to Boston and Lynn Mass around 1888. He moved to Chicago, where he and his wife Regina Hermann, had a son Sam in 1896, they moved to Trenton, NJ where Max was, and then to Los Angeles. Trying to find the town of origin in Europe.

i have written once before. the names of your grandparents, and brother are identical to my aunt,, uncle, and cousin, and so is your fathers name Leon. I wondered why ou did not answer, as I have an extensive family tree of the Bornsteins, and you are on there with little information, as the only one who had corresponded with you was my cousin (yours too) told me of you. I believe your father told me about you when you were very young, and so was I.

Marti Bornstein. I am your cousin, Bronna Bornstein Steiman. The last time I saw you, you were about 12. I am living 25 miles west of Pittsburgh in McDonald, PA. Leon lives in Las Vegas, and Harry is still in Minneapolis. My sons live in Alexandria, Va and Boiling Springs, PA. Based on you information provided in the BB, I also feel that we are related. My father Leon did mention the Tischauer family in some of our conversations.

You have my home e-mail address and we can correspond outside of the ancestry BB. I live in California now. I have for many years wanted to do research into my family tree.

Do I have any relatives that you or other family members may be aware of in California?

I believe, actually I am sure you are my cousin. Your father Leon and I were first cousins. My father was your grandfathers younger brother (1 of 7). I remember your grandmother Henriette very well. I think I can fill in some of the blanks. I am the only Bornstein of this family doing genealogy research, and have quite a Bornstein/Tischauer family tree.

Ben Bornstein in St. Louis or NYC

Great grand-father Benjamin Bornstein immigrated to NYC around turn of the century. His brother immigrated at the same time, also known as Ben Bornstein, but ended up in St. Louis. We think they immigrated from Russia or Ukraine - any more information would be great!

This yearbook lists the members of the Senior class of 1929, faculty members, members of the Corps of Cadets, and many members of various clubs (not all). Unfortunately, it does not list the names of the members of the Junior, Sophomore or Freshmen classes (only officers listed for those classes).

I extracted all of the names (& some other information) from the yearbook & have put them on my genealogy web site (total of 13 web pages, containing over 1,900 records; sorted alphabetically by surname).

My grandfather was from poland, his name is Saul Bornstein. He married came to America with my grandmother Yetta Zylberberg. My gradfther Saul Bornstein his parents names were Leo and Fanny Bornstein.

I'm looking for information on the family of Lillian (Liliam, etc.) Bornstein. She is from Poland. She was married to Jacob Nathan Sturman and they had 4 children. The first 3 were born in Poland: Abraham (M. Fanny), Samuel, (m. Helen), and Yetta (M. Jacob). The 4th was born in NYC - Sol or Soloman 12-8-1907.
I think the first three kids were born in Platsk, Poland.

Just happened upon your search and inquiries. My father was Joseph Lewis Bornstein. His parents names were Leo and Mindle(Ferst). Malcha and Lazarus were Leo's parents. Joseph had two brothers-Harry and William. William had two sons Leon and Harry, and a daughter Brauna Mae. Of note is that these children were all very tall. The guys about 6'8" and the girl about 6'2". Uncle Bill died in 1958 of Hodgkins.
I'm not sure if this family is the same as yours, however I thought it might be of some interest. They lived in Minneapolis, MN and Chicago for some time

My father (Leon) was raised partially in Brooklyn and in the Bronx. My father had a brother that died at the age of 13 from pneumonia and his name was Alvin, whom I am named after. My father told me that our family also came from the area around Germany and Poland. He said, we came from a town in Poland called Susnowitz-Bendina (not the correct spelling). I mentioned in the last e-mail about a Joseph Bornstein (it may have been Josef, the Hebrew version of Joseph).

I do remember my father introducing me to some of my great-Aunt's/Uncle's when I was a little child. The names I remember were Sadie and Yetty. Don't know if either were their formal names. I was also told that some of the Bornstein's when they left Europe went to the United States and some went to Israel. I have some info from when I was doing geneology many years ago.

Okay, now my father is drawing a blank. I distinctly remember his mentioning a Leon and an Alvin Bornstein. He is almost 70 now and his thoughts are not always so clear. He said that if he they are the distant cousins he remembers they are pretty tall, 6' and taller, and are from Queens, N.Y. Anyhow, I know that we also have family with the last name Petowitz (probably spelled incorrectly). Our ancestry begins in Southern Germany and Poland. Morris would have been born around 1900 and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y. My father, Lewis, was born in 1935 and married a lady named Barbara Schwartz. I believe this is the extent of my knowledge. I will ask my father about a Joseph Bornstein, since Joseph is a strange name for a Jew, this should trigger his memory!

As I recall I had a great uncle Morris and one Joseph. I remember my father telling me that Joseph was a dentist and he moved to Florida. I am interested in what you find out.

This is very interesting. Here is the info. I have. I had an uncle Herman from Hartford, Conn. Although, his last name is Bass. My grandfather's name was Morris Bornstein (died in 68'). My father's name is Lewis. He definitely had a relative named Leon. I will call him tonight to get specifics. As far as I can remember he said that Leon and his brothers were taller than the rest of the family. Maybe 6 feet or a little taller. I will write back tonight after I find out more!

I am interested in determining if we are relatives. My father was Leon Bornstein. He had an older brother named Alvin who died when he was very young. I was named after him.

My grandparents names were Herman & Henrietta Bornstein. I do remember some of my great Aunt's and Uncle's names. I did in the past do some research into my ancestary. I have some of that info. Some of my family were from New York, New Jersy and possibly Conn. Some moved to Florida.

Mr. Bornstein,
Sir, my father, Lewis Bornstein, has mentioned having an uncle Leon. They (Leon had several brothers) were either from New Jersey, New York or Connecticut. What was particular about them is that they were fairly tall. Each brother was around 6', compared to the rest of the family which were very short.

Looking for anyone with knowledge of Jacob and Eva Bornstein from Russia. They had at least two sons, Benjamin and Arnold. Ben moved to the states around 1910.
