Nice to make contact with a cousin of sorts... Since I made my post I have discovered that my grandmother wasn't actually a
Lawton. Her birth registration says she was, but her baptismal record says her father was Charles
Hughes, so she and Martha are related through their mother but not their father. The
Calverley website (an excellent resource so I hope you have discovered it) shows Martha and Frances Louisa, along with two sisters, baptized on the same day

Needless to say, this added a new wrinkle to my researches which were already in confusion because half the family records say Samuel
Lawton and the other say David...
I am about to leave on holiday for a month - I will contact you when I return and we can share information. My
Brace information doesn't go any further back than yours but I have a few records for Priscilla Wild Lawton's side of things. My grandmother, Frances Louisa, emigrated to Canada in 1909, joining my grandfather who had arrived a few months earlier.
