These names ring a bill with me. The way that I have researched the Braddock's they are from the family that you are speeking of.

I am searching for a source citation for the parents of my wife's 3rd great-grandfather John Spicer BRADDOCK (b. 5 Feb 1805, Nassau County, Florida; d. 1863, Nassau County, Florida; m. Sarah Nancy HIGGINBOTHAM, 1828). Most family trees on the internet list William Henry BRADDOCK and Charlotte Ann CHRISTOPHER as his parents; however, other uncited sources list William's brother John David BRADDOCK and Charlotte's sister Martha CHRISTOPHER. Can anyone provide a definitive source (i.e. birth or baptismal record, will, historical record)?

My grandmother was a Braddock, and the family has gone back several generations, there are William Braddock listed in her pedigree.

Go to familysearch.org and type her name in the search box: Barbara Ann Braddock and this will take you to our line of Braddocks.

Please let me know if you can connect anywhere in my line of Braddocks.

Looking for members of the J.W. Braddock, SR. Family, 1952 Miami, FL. J.W. Braddock lived at: 3622 N.E. Miami Place, Miami 37, Florida.

My Grandfather, Patrick H. Thompson passed away in 1952. J.W. Braddock, SR. was a very good friend of his and he (J.W.) wrote my Father a letter shortly after my Grandfather passed away. Apparently both my Grandfather and J.W. were Auto Mechanics. J.W. had retired from mechanics before my Grandfather and had given my Grandfather his tools. In J.W.'s letter to my father dated August 1, 1952 he asked my father if he could keep my Grandfather's tools. Also, My Grandfather apparently "rented" a room or apartment from J. W. Braddock, SR.

I have never seen my Grandfather or even a confirmed picture of him and I am wanting to know if this BRADDOCK Family has ever heard of or crossed reference to PATRICK H. THOMPSON and possibly have any additional information.

My name is Joyce Ann Petty Leatherwood and my great-grandmother was a Braddock. Her name is Sarah Katherine “Kate” Braddock Atkinson and her sister is Ellen Braddock (Their mother and father were Joseph and Martha Braddock.) Ellen’s children were Sarah Caroline “Carrie” Braddock Hodge, Bob Braddock, Joe Braddock and Braddock. Kate’s were Mary Amanda Atkinson (Petty), (My grandmother) Wiley, Matthew “Mack”, Lonnie, David and Crawford Atkinson. Carrie had several children and one of them is still living in Polkton, NC. Her name is Virginia Mae Hodge Brock. She is 91. I will keep you name in my address book and when I find out more, I will pass on. I remember something about a Hannah Weatherford but don’t know where.

Sir, my great-grandmother was Sarah Katherine "Kate" Braddock Atkinson (she died in 1935). I am trying to find out if there was any native american in her family. I have picture of her and she and the children have strong native american features and coloring. She was Ellen Braddock's sister (died in 1904) and their mother was Martha (died in 1904) and their father was Joseph.

Ellen's granddaughter is still living in Polkton, NC.

New York immigrant Braddock family

Can anyone help please. My ancestor, Mabel Isabella James emigrated to New York in 1903. She married fellow immigrant, John Braddock and they settled in Kings area of NY. Mabels's mother joined them in 1906 along with her brother Joseph and Amy Roberta James. Mabel and John had 2 known children, Beryl and John Junior. They are on the 1920 census but not on the 1930 census. I am trying to trace relatives of Mabel and would be very grateful if someone could help fill some gaps in that family members in the UK and Canada are tyring to solve.

Jennaveve Helen Mary Braddock. Mary was a Catholic added name. Jennaveve was named for her father's aunt, Jennaveve Braddock Matthes. Her middle name was for her mother's sister Helen Lundell Miller.

Mother was Edna Loretta Lundell. Gillette was her step-father's name. Neither her nor her sister Helen were adopted by this man. Their brother Frank Edward Lundell was adopted by Guy Gillette and went by both Lundell and Gillette. Edna and Helen are listed under both names also but not legally Gillette.

The original wills are probably in the Loudoun County, VA courthouse in Leesburg, VA. I found the book of extracts either at the Balch Library in Leesburg or the Virginia Room at the Fairfax County (VA) library, I don't remember which.
Willowbend Books should have copies for sale, as well.

Birth location of Elizabeth is incorrect. She was born in Ohio to Michael Braddock and Sarah J. Graham. Sarah parents were probably Irish born. Cenus records for Sarah and numerous children indicate that Sarah was born "aboard ship"," On ocean" or "At Sea".

Subject Michael R. Braddock was the only son of Michael J. Braddock and Grace Keenan. Census records suggest his birth to have occured between June 1848 and Jan 1849. What little is known about his parents origins comes from Ohio Census records beginning in 1850 and the Catholic Record Society in Columbus Ohio.

Are you familiar with the family lore that after Leo's parents went to Kentucky John lived with Leo while Elizabeth stayed with a child from her first marriage?
Do you have any idea as to when John & Liz migrated to KY?

Does Pigeon Roost, Ohio, mean anything to you? It's where Leo's folks lived after moving from nearby Dearfield Twp.

There are a couple of DNA projects going on on his side and I;ve talked to him about doing it - especially because the results should be able to be used on all lines. I will mention it again - I do think he will do it but it may take a few weeks to actually get it done!

I'm from a different Braddock line, but I manage the Braddock DNA project and am always on the lookout for male Braddocks from any line. I sure hope your husband will consider joining and testing. Our project is small so far, we simply need more tests to establish baseline data on the many Braddock lines. Current and future searchers will benefit greatly from the DNA data we collect today (several of my other surnames have seen major breakthroughs via DNA). The project is at:

You probably already have this now since your posting is almost a decade old! I can give you the Angie Nora Braddock (daughter of Martin Braddock and Delilah Lepley) descendants. My husband is the son of Martin Braddock Roberts, Jr. (son of Berdie H. Morgan and Martin Braddock Roberts). Martin B. Roberts Sr. parents were Angie Braddock and Kendall Coles Roberts.

I would be interested in the Lepley ancestry that you have for my husband's tree though.

I am related from Nicholas Braddock and Elizabeth from their son John Braddock, then his son Leo Braddock, then to his son John M. Braddock to my Great Grand Father Cleve (sometimes Cleveland) Braddock.
