Hi, Nice to hear from you , I have checked twice for a tomb stone at BeachGrove but have had no luck in locating a stone . We might try and check with township trustees and see if they have any records. Do you have any pictures of the family ? DawnCLR48@aol.com

Isaac was my great great grandfather. I have finished the family tree for the family from the 1500's to the 2012 period. Isaac died on 7-19-1890 of Typhoid fever in Meigs County ohio I could not find his grave either. It's possible that whatever gravestone existed is defaced or just worn away. I am planing to check out the cemetary in the next month or two. There are a lot of Bradfield's buried in the same cemetary.
You left no email address so could not contact you. I notice your post was 2010 so if you are still persuing information, let me know.

Re: Bradfield genealogy meets Robison genealogy

Hello Dave!
My husband, John D. Robison, is a descendant of the John & Mary Baker Robison family. I have worked on this family for many years, eventually I was in contact with John Gessner when he was doing his research, and I furnished him with quite a bit of info on our John & Mary's line in IN. Before contacting Mr. Gessner I had NO idea that our Robisons were connected with the Bradfields of Parke Co IN. That was in part because Sarah is recorded as a Robinson in many records and I had never realized there might be a connection. Mr. Gessner gave me a copy of his history which opened multiple doors for me.
If you research in Parke Co IN you will find that the Bradfields intermmarried with just about every other family in the county!! I am from Parke Co myself and have some ties to Bradfields. Some info on this thread is not quite right. ROCKVILLE is the county seat of Parke Co. The ROCKPORT references are possibly a misprint in some old county books - a problem I've found in numerous old books. There apparently is a Rockport as I found after looking at a map - but it is a little burgh (if that) well east of Rockville, and even growing up back there, I had never heard of the place! To my knowledge, the Bradfields settled south and a little west of the town of Rockville and they would have had a Rockville mailing address even back in the 1800's. The original Bradfield home and barn are being lovingly restored by friends of mine in fact, and the name "Bradfield Corner" is on some maps (local ones at least) if you follow the highway 41 about 4miles south from Rockville. I wonder if this Rockport mentioned is more of a landmark like Bradfield Corner. It is my understanding that the Bradfields were from Columbiana and Meigs Cos in Ohio, as were our Robisons, and both families followed some migration to IN and settled in the same general area. Our John, a bro to Sarah and your Joseph Jr, moved on to Clay Co, the next county south of Parke, and settled his family there. He is my husband's Gr-Gr-Grandfather.
Our line is John Jr b.1805
Thomas b.1840
Chauncey Cornelius b.1873
John b.1915
and my John b.1951.
Some of your posting message sounds like John Gessner's research is noted, so I assume you must have a copy of it? It is extremely well researched, and had he not done this, I would never have been able to decipher our own line further than to Joseph b.1777 d.1841, and I knew of no other siblings of our Thomas!! We had only family lore handed down to go on, and I found out a good part of it was completely in error. I NEVER would have figured it out! Just an aside - we always referred to Joseph as "Old Joe"! We never knew his wife's name even.
With re. to the Robison/Robinson name confusion -- I think mainly it was a case of the assumption that the name is always Robinson, a problem I'm sure YOU deal with as much as WE do even now! It never ends! According to Mr. Gessner's work, Joe Sr. was the one who actually is responsible for the change in spelling for his line. -- Had to do with that running from that debt that he was involved in. It WAS Robinson until Joseph Sr changed it and his descendants only knew that, or were instructed to carry it on down.
I had never heard the story about the Congregationalists. As it happens, John and I are Congregational church members, tho it's not necessarily considered to have been a family tradition. Interesting!
If I can help you out with anything, please feel free to get in touch with me thru my regular email if you want. I'm always happy to share info!
Look forward to hearing from you!
Found some information on Benjamin Bradfield- he was apparently a miner in Leadville, Colorado, USA in 1880 census. Lists birth year as between 1848-1852. After that I have most of his information, but am stuck on finding him when he was in England and when he came over.

Here is MY Ben Bradfield-

http://trees.ancestry.com/tree/26697342/person/1901783703

Based on that, I have a potential candidate-

Benjamin Bradfield, born abt 1848 in St Johns, Norfolk, England to James and Elizabeth Bradfield. Shows up in 1851 and 1861 census in same city then is gone...

http://search.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/sse.dll?rank=1&new=1&...;...

http://search.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/sse.dll?rank=1&new=1&...;...

But nothing to tie these records to my Ben, sadly. I just can't find any other Ben Bradfields born in England around that time that I can't find still in England in 1881 (when he is in Leadville).

So, if anyone can help me connect (or disconnect) these records with what I have already, or if you know of the Ben Bradfield I am looking at being in England after 1880 (and therefore not being MY Ben Bradfield), I would really appreciate it!

thank you!

Jim
Hello,

I don't really know about the genealogy of the Bradfield clan. However, there is a great number of Bradfields still living in Mississippi and Detroit, MI. As a matter of fact, the patriarch of the Bradfield family reunion, which started around 1965 was George Bradfield of Vaughn, Mississippi. His two living children are Doris Eola Bradfield-Jones and Linnie Bradfield of Detroit, MI.

Maybe we are kin some kind of way. They are planning a reunion in Augustin the state of Mississippi. Please email me asap. I am Gayle Jones-Smith, daughter of Doris Eola Jones. readyforheaven@yahoo.com

The name Thomas Bradfield sounds like it has been mention before!!! His two living children are Doris Eola Bradfeild-Jones and Linnie Bradfield of Detroit, MI.

I am looking for any information on my gggrandfather. His name is Benjamin Bradfield, census information says he was born 1858 in England. He married Lydia Copeland (presumably in Livermore, California) and had two children with her. they divorced sometime in the 1890s, and he passed away 1914 at his son's home in Livermore. That is about all I know of him. I would like to get pictures, stories and most importantly PARENTS! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I suspect that she may have been born in London or Portsea, Hampshire & that Bradfield could be an incorrect transcription of Barfield.

Can anyone find her birth, please, because I can't

Willie was about 19 years of age, just entering manhood’s estate and was a bright and intelligent boy, faithful to his employees and kind to his parents and sisters. He was a member of the Terrell Fire Department, and the boys attended the funeral on Monday morning in full uniform, and thus paid the last respects to their beloved and brave comrade. The bereaved parents and family have the sincere sympathy of their neighbors and friends.
