Hello Mary. My name is Cheryl Bradle Suastegui. My great great grandfather was Johann Bradle (Bredl). He was the father of your great grandfather, Joseph from Park Falls, and my great grandfather Frank (Franz) of Laona. I have been searching for Johann's grave with no success. I did find his wife's grave (Rosalia Hellinger Bradle). Any information that you may have about Johann would be so much appreciated. Thank you very much.

Did your ancestor Monica Bradel live in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, and was she married to Michael Reiser? My Monica Bradel immigrated from Bremen, Germany on the Ship Mosel arriving 8 Sep 1873 traveling with Wolfgang Bradel and Georg Bradel. She was married in Pittsburgh to Michael Reiser one month later.

Karen Miller

Bredl (Bradle) and Aschenbrenner families from Markt Eisenstein, Bohemia

Hello,

I am still searching for siblings of my great-grandparents, George Aschenbrenner (b 1850) and Monika Bredl (Bradle) who were born in 1850 and 1855 respectively in Markt Eisenstein in Bohemia, on the Bavarian-Bohemian border. They immigrated to the United States in 1877. George and Monika first settled in Hamburg, Wisconsin and later in Stetsonville, WI. George’s parents were Andreas Aschenbrenner (born June 11, 1802 in Markt Eisenstein) and Katharina Artmann (born abt 1808 in Markt Eisenstein). Monika’s parents were Michael Bredl (born July 19, 1808 in Markt Eisenstein) and Franziska Rohrbacher (born April 8, 1817 in Panzer, nr. Markt Eisenstein). I suspect siblings or other family members may have immigrated as well, although I have found no confirmation to date. I am sure that the records listing the children of Andreas and Katharina Aschenbrenner, as well as Michael and Franziska Bredl, are in the Pilsen Archives in the Czech Republic. However, these records are difficult and expensive to come by. The parish records for Markt Eisenstein, available on microfische through the LDS Family History Center, only go up to 1808. Does anyone have this information? Thanks for any assistance!

Susan
Bradles from Eisenstein, Bohemia to northern WI

My great- grandmother was Monika Bredl (Bradle), born in Markt Eisenstein, Bohemia (now Zelezna Ruda in the Czech Republic). Monika married George Aschenbrenner and settled first in Hamburg, WI and later in Stetsonville, WI.

Monika's parents were Michael Bredl and Franziska Rohrbacher. Her paternal grandparents were Anton Bredl and Theresia Schmidt. Her maternal grandparents were Joseph Rohrbacher and Barbara Hilgart.

Did siblings or other relatives also immigrate to northern Wisconsin? Was she related to August (age 76) and Franciska Bredl (age 70), who are listed as neighbors in the town of Hamburg, Marathon County, WI in the 1880 census? Living with August and Franciska were their son, William Bredl (age 30) and daughter in law, Auguste (age 21). Were any of these Bradles related to Joseph and Frank, brothers who settled in Eisenstein, WI and Laona, WI respectively? Their father was Johann (John) Bredl, who was born in Eisenstein and died at Frank's home in Marshfield in 1901. Does anyone know the parents of Johann Bredl? Has anyone been able to trace the ancestry of August and Franciska Bredl?

My great grand-parents were George Aschenbrener and Monica Bredl who immigrated from Markt Eisenstein, Bohemia on the German/ Czech border to Hamburg and Stetsonville WI. I too have been to Eisenstein and have gleaned lots of info from the M. Eisenstein parish records. Do you or anyone else know whether Monica was related to any of the Bradles who settled in Park Falls and Laona Wisconsin?

I'm taking over Pauquette research for my family, and saw your reference to your grandmother Margery Pauquette, who was my grandmother's (Kathryn Pauquette) sister. I've vaguely remember visits from Judy Bradle and her family when I was young. I'm trying to update the family tree. I have you listed as an only child on our family tree, and Judy's children are Mary, Anne, and James. If you or Judy would like to contact me and swap information, please let me know.

Marjery's sister, Kathryn, is the only living child of St. Claire and Emma Pauquette. She will be turning 100 this October. I thought I might try to obtain birthday wishes from family members that remember my grandmother, Kathryn.

Thanks for any help you may be able to give.

Maureen Troublefield

I have an old photograph taken in September 1949 of a Dee Lila Bradle or Beadle - the ink is smudged. I also have her in a few other photographs that are unmarked. I think that this is the same Dee that married my great uncle Robert Doyle Gregory who had a mysterious death while in the military. If anyone has any information on this person please contact me.
Hello again Babs! Actually Clara was my grandfather's sister. My family line is as follows: Frank Xavier Bradle (my g-grandfather), Edward Joseph Bradle (my grandfather), Francis Leo Bradle (my father), Cheryl (Cheri) (Bradle) Suastegui. Then the Joe/John that lived in Park Falls would have been Frank's brother (we think?). I have photos of Frank and his wife Mary Walburga with all of their children (including my grandfather). I would be happy to send you a copy if you are interested. That is as far back as my photos go. Let me know. I also just received an e-mail from Louise Brooks who I also contacted through ancestry.com. She has a g-grandmother named Monica Bradel. She said that she visited Eisenstein Germany a few years ago and their are many Bradles (spelled Bradl) buried there. Maybe we can get there someday! Let me know about the photo. Take Care.

Cheri

My grandfather was Ed Bradle. I unfortunately I do not have the internet right now, recently moved and haven't decided on a provider yet. I read your message courtesy of my sister-in-law. I would be eternally grateful for any info regarding Frank and his father. I have not been able to get past Frank in my research. I would be happy to share any info that I have that might interest you. I have a very nice family photo of Frank with wife and all children. Thanks again!

Cheri Suastegui

Hi Carol,

Sorry that it has taken 6 months to reply to you! I hope that your photos have been returned to you. Are you a Bradle? My grandfather Edward Bradle was born in Marshfield. They later moved to Laona. Frank X. must have come to Laona with Ed (his son). They lived there until they passed. They are buried in the Laona cemetery. I go up every summer to pay my respects. I know that Frank and his wife came from
Eisenstein Germany, Austria. I am not sure what country it was at that time. I would love to know what his parents names were. No luck so far. Maybe John or Johann? I don't know if Frank's father came to the US or not. I appreciate any reply.

Thanks,

Cheri

P.S., my e-mail address is not in service.

She has (had) eleven brothers and sisters. We know very little about her mother's side of the family (the Bradles) and would love to know more. Any information would sure be appreciated. Mom is 89 and would be more interested!
Thanks!! Kathy Stoltenberg

Dear Cheri, Have been reviewing the boards and your request about my great-grandmother Monica Bradle Aschenbrener, and your Frank Bradle being related. Monica was born 18 Ap 1856 in Eisenstein. I know her father's name was Antoine, that is all the info. I have. I don't know if we are related to all the LaonaWisc. Bradles'. Do you have an e-mail address yet? Have you learned anything else? Hope you see this. Thanks, Jodi(Aschenbrener) Hansen

I thought that I told you when we spoke on the phone that the father of Frank X was living with Franks Family in the census. . . did I forget?
Greetings, Your timing is good! My husband just took off for Laona to see what he could find in courthouses etc. . .

Unfortunatly, I sent all the photo's (about 50) that I had of the Laona Bradle family to a lady in Hudson WI so that she could copy them. . .and have her mother identify them. I have not gotten them back yet . . . or, heard from her. Ah, well, perhaps she needs them more than I do.

We found Frank X's father right here in Marshfield, living with Frank. Here I thought that they had always lived in Laona, not so. My husband has the information on his computer. I will try and send as soon as he gets home.

Cheers, Carol

If there are any problems my e-mail is <cjohn@tznet.com>

My great grandmother was Monica Bradel. She must have come
to America in about 1874 or 1875 because my grandmother
Louisa was an infant. My great grandfathers name was George
Aschenbrener and he also came from Eisenstein. We were in Germany
a few years ago and saw the church where they had attended.
The graveyard up the hill had many graves of Bradels spelled
Bradl. The town isn't that large and I imagine that Monica
and Frank might at least have been cousins. I hope this helps. Louise Brooks

Cheri,

According to what my aunt told me, your great grandfather, Frank, and my great grandfather, Joe, possibly are brothers. She said that she knew very little of the Bradle family, but as a child she did spend summers in Leona with her cousin, Dolly Stauber. I have no documentation on any of the Park Falls Bradles (cause I haven't persued it), but think there must be plenty if I knew the right people to ask. I, too, am a novice at this. We were in
Eisenstein in 1990 and went to the cemetary and saw many
names of Ascnenbrener and Bradl. We took movies of several
of them. Do you know Loy Aschenbrener?
Hi Babs,
Thanks for your reply. My Dad, Fred Aschenbrener was raised in Lac deFlambeau; and Park Falls, and Fifield are all family stomping grounds. I was raised in Dubuque, Iowa and now am in Mesa, Arizona. George B. Aschenbrener and Marietta Gilman are my grandparents from there, he was the grocer and she was the postmistress. Here are the children of George B.'s parents (George Aschenbrener and Monica Bradle): Louisa, born 11 Ap, 1874 Eisenstein; Edward J.,born 23 May 1876,Eisenstein; Margaret, born 1879 Stetsonville; George B. born 19 june,1881 Stetsonville,Wis (my grandfather);Frederic, born abt.1882,Stetsonville; Anna, born 13 Jun,1883,Stetsonville; and Lawrence J., born 29 Aug, 1888,Stetsonville. Tomorrow I will try to find the correspondence that gave me this info. I am just getting back into this after 7 years. I love this. Jodi

Jodi,
I've heard the name Monica Bradle, George Aschenbrener, and grew up knowing many Eisensteiners in Park Falls. My surviving aunts, whose grandfather was Joe Bradle, all know very little of this branch of the family, except recalling relatives in Leona.
Park Falls Bradles

My greatgrandfather was Joe Bradle, who lived in Park Falls, Price Co., Wisconsin. He married Mary Kundinger, and some of their children were John (b.1886), Joe (b.1883), Charles (unknown birthdate), Mary Long (b.1888), Rose Schreiner Gotz (b.1893), Louise Miesbauer (b.1906), Michael (b.1884). One of my aunts recalls summers spent visiting in Leona, and mentioned Frank Bradle as Joe's brother. I have very little information on the Bradle Family, but would be happy to share.
Babs Bloom
