Looking for the above surnames and anyone who may have known someone with these names. The family lived in Kilgore, Gregg Co, TX, originally from the Rusk & Smith counties of Texas. My Grandfather was John W. CHARLES married to Mary CUMBY. Both are buried in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery of Kilgore, TX.

Looking for ancestors of Robert BRANNON of Alabama, married Nellie Jane ENIS/ENNIS also of Alabama. Couple owned farm in Alabama but moved to Oklahoma after the KKK wanted their land, early 1900s. Had several more children in Earlsboro, OK, where both are buried in local black cemetery.

I am the ggg granddaughter of Samuel A Tarry born in Mecklenburg Co., VA The information I have (I am not certain of the origin) is that he was married to Mary Norment Brame. I had thought her father was Joseph (again not certain of origin of info). Their oldest child was son Joseph A. Tarry born in TN, died in TX. I have quite a bit of info on his descendants (as I am one).

I'm trying to verify certain facts for this family and it seems Samuel's wife's name should be at the top of my list. Did Richen's Brame live in northwest TN or southwest KY ( I think I read that somewhere)?

John & Mary Norment Brame's sons Richens,Joseph,John,& James each had a daughter named Mary.John's & James' are Mary Ann and Mary Frances; so they wouldn't fit. I know nothing more of Joseph's Mary. Richens' daughter Mary (I have no middle name for her) married Samuel A. Tarry. This Mary is a sister of my gggrandmother Fannie Brame Wootton. If either of these Marys are yours, I'd appreciate hearing from you.

According to the information I have, my gg grandmother's name was Mary Norment Brame. She was married to Samuel Tarry. They were both born in Virginia. By 1840, they were in Stewart Co., TN and I believe they also lived in southern KY.
From what I understand Mary Norment Brames's father was Jospeh Brame and her grandparents were John Brame and Mary Norment. I'm trying to verify some of this information that I have accumulated over the years. Thanks for any information and I'm willing to help you if I am able.

Looking for descendants of W.B.M. Brame, age 57, a white Bookkeeper from VA, listed in the Shelbyville Ward 2, TN 1870 Federal Census. Cintha Brame is listed with this family of same surname as a 25 yr old black female - she was a domestic cook and Cintha/Cynthia was my great-grandmother. I am seeking family of W. Brame for exchange of records/history of the Brame family and also on my ggrandmother and her family. She had 4 sons: Henry, Charles, Edwin, & James Brame.

Gordon Brame Hargrove (1880-1947) was indeed adopted by George W. Hargrove. He was married to Emma Bond Shackelford and lived in Eaton, TN and then Trenton, TN, her hometown. My mother has memories of him as "Wunk" because she couldn't say uncle when she was little. He was an insurance salesman and happily married to her Aunt Bond, a teacher, newswoman and artist. They were happily married for many years but had no children. The names David M. Brame and Kate Hamilton are engraved on his gravestone. Here is the link...

I do not know the connection with the Hargrove family but the gravestone of George W. Hargrove is nearby in the cemetery.

Richens Brame b. 1689 was the son of John Brame and Mary Dabney. His son Melchisedeck m. Mary Chiles, dau. of Walter Chiles. I have an Elizabeth Brame (no date of birth, but her parents, James Brame & Sarah Rolfe m. c1767); this Elizabeth married a Wyatt (I have no first name for him.)

Hollis mother and fathers names are James brame, jane robinson.Hollis married Algerta O'dell in 1915.Delbert was born Dec 14 seath Sep 9, 1917.
