Hi, Helen

I am told by my mother and her family that Martin Robert Storm was born i Germany. His daughter Gladys told my mother he was born in Halle, Germany. There are several town/cities in Germany named Halle, so I don't know which. I have also been told he had a brother Oscar living in Germany.
I have also found the church records from St. Marys Church, Jarrow, South Shields with the two different name of his father. But maybe Frederick is correct. His first child was named Robert William Frederick and he also had a son Frederick in his second marriage. He had 4 children in his first marriage and 8 in his second marriad. He died 1945 in Northumberland.
I would be pleased to learn more about Elizabeth Mattimore as I only have the date of marriage, and nothing more.
Regards
Pål W. Martinussen

I just found out about the christening records online, I found an Edwin Brampton baptised in 1836, illegitimate child of Elizabeth Brampton (Eliza) she also had Henry in 1839, There is a death for an Edward in 1838 but I don't know if it's this child or not.

I don't think Edward knew how old he was, I found an Edwin born 1829 along with a Samuel (son of Thomas and Martha maybe, found a christening). No records on Thomas or Martha online. The boys are in a poorhouse.

Eliza has a son Henry, and a few more children...as do her two sisters. she isn't in the census, but neither are they, nor can I find their deaths.

Ludlow is the right place, so where do I go now? I think Edward was abandoned or orphaned.

family of Edward BRAMPTON born circa 1830, and his wife Ruth SPICER

I am looking for the siblings or parents of Edward Brampton born circa 1830, and his wife Ruth Spicer. I don't find either of them in 1841, in 1851 I find Ruth a single mother working as a maid in Rowley Regis, Staffordshire, in all censuses she is born Oldsbury, Worchestershire. Her Husband Edward Brampton, looks to have been born in Shropshire, but it may be Staffordshire. His occupation was a glassmaker. I don't find them after 1891, but I did find Ruth's death in 1901 in West Bromwich. The first Church I have them listed in is St. Paul's in 1861, then Trinity in 1871. According to the census, all the children, except the eldest William, born before marriage, were born in Smythwick. In 1881 and 1891 the family is in Oldbury, Worchestershire, and Ruth's death in 1901 is recorded as West Bromwich, Worchestershire?? The closest name I came up with is an Edwin same age listed as an inmate of a work union house, with a Samuel in 1841 in Shropshire. Any help would be appreciated.

Edward and Ruth's daughter Sarah married George Timmins in 1880 and immigrated to Syracuse NY in 1884 aboard the Celtic. My great grandmother was born in Syracuse in 1889.

Hi Melinda, I am a descendent of Alice Brampton b1424 m John Petley b1420. He is my greatx14 grandfather. I had a bit of fun working this family out as it seems that James (John?)Brampton b1392 m Alice Arden had a sister Alice Brampton b1396 m Johannes Petley b1392. I'm not sure if they are related. Do you know anything about this? Do you have definate dates of birth and death for James Brampton? If you have any further information and wouldn't mind sharing it with me, I would be very greatful. Thank you. Debbie Petley.

I was interested to read your note regarding the Storm and Brampton connection (although I note it is sometime since you wrote it).
I am trying to find out about Robert Storm who first married Rachel Brampton, then went on to marry my Great Great Aunt, Elizabeth Ann Mattimore (not Irish herself, but her father was).
On both the 1881 and 1891 census he states he was born in South Shields - but I understand you know he was born in Germany.
On the marriage certificate to Rachel Brampton, he states his father as being Henry George Storm (Grocer). But on the marriage certificate to Elizabeth Mattimore, he states his father as being Frederick Storm, deceased (Labourer).
I would be pleased and grateful to learn anything more about Robert Storm and his family, if you are able to help in any way.
Many thanks
Helen Welch

Found in a newspaper while searching for something else, I have no other information

The Chronicle, Bound Brook, NJ Friday July 9, 1897

An exciting game was played on Saturday afteroon between the Athletics and the Waynes of Philadelhia on the High Street Grounds. THe visitors are ball players, and gentlemen besides, but they were stranger to the extra stock of curves Pitcher Brampton had in store that day. He was very much in the game, both at the bat and in the box. In the first inning, he showed what he was capable of. The first three batters secured their bases but Brampton struck out the next three. HIs strike-outs included two in the second, three in the third, one in the fourth, three in the fifth and one in the sixth. Newhouse handled him superbly and the rest of the boys played well.

I know that my relative George Boddington married Elizabeth Brampton May 5 1711 at St. Anne Soho Westminster London and eventually had a son William. Unfortunately I do not have any vital info on dates of birth or death for them or their son and grandson William II. If their is anyone who could help me with any info that would be great as I am getting married in June and really wanted to display a somewhat completed Family Tree for my guests at my reception.
