Dixie, Very nice to meet you! Sorry it's taken so long to reply to this. I have not read any posts in months. Rutha Mosley Hacker was my great grand aunt. Rutha was sister to my great grandmother Dorcas "Dora" Mosley (Dora was married to Robert Bray - son of Pete Bray and Malinda Green). The picture came from another "cuzin" that I met a while back. It is a great photo. I've got quite a bit on the Bray family. Please e-mail me at: wilmagregory2002@yahoo.com Would love to talk to you. Are you related to the Bray family also?
Wilma

I am looking for information on the Brays from Rhode Island. They are, according to my family's genealogy records, also connected to the Bucklin line.

I know these members definitely belong in my tree:
Naomi Bray
Searles T. Bray
Gil Bray
Andrew Bray III

their parents: Raymond Gilmore Bray and Marion D. Bray

Their paternal great-great grandfather:
Amos Bray

What I'm trying to figure out is:

Middle names for Andrew Jr. and Andrew Sr.
More info on Andrew Bray Sr.'s father, Amos Bray (b: abt. 1796)

If anyone is researching these brays and/or knows more about them, please let me know! Thank you! ! !
Could Thomas Bray, birth yr 1867, birth place La, in deed be the same Thomas Nelson, (suggested records reflect that theory), from the 1870 La census with Lindsey Nelson(listed as Liner Nelson), the birth year fits, parents are listed as Henry/Lavinia Nelson. If so, when did Lavinia marry a Bray, and did Thomas remain with the Bray family after Lavinia passed ,and take his name ?, I know that Lindsey is living with a Hulda Nelson-Henry, on the 1880 La census, who I believe to be a sister or a cousin. Does anyone have any info on these two families, who later moved to El Dorado Ar, Union Co.

Thanks for your reply. Understand that Bray may be the married name, thus not who I think it might be. However, I do know that Zalmon Bray (http://trees.ancestry.com/tree/749090/person/-2053952637) left his family in Nebraska, likely moving west while working for a railroad (was with Union Pacific out of Omaha, NE; may have moved to another line or stayed with UP as it moved west). I can place him in Astoria City, Clatsop, Oregon, before removing to Cosmopolis, Grays Harbor, Washington. Perhaps a coincidence, then again maybe I can help with piecing things together if of my Bray line and you would like. Either way, thanks for sharing! R/Nick

Frank Lesle, Ruby Janes, Edwin, & Mamie Maude Aikins are children of William James Aikins and Anna Meriah Shellhorn (William James Aikins 2nd wife). William James Aikins is my 2nd g.g.f. I am descended from his 1st wife, Phoebe Ebner.

1. Edwin Aikins did not marry - I have pictures of him. He died in 1937 in Omaha, NE. I found his probate in Ottawa Co, KS. However, he had property in KS, and NE. Died in Omaha, NE.
2. Mamie Maud did not marry until she was an older adult. She took care of her Dad. Later she went to California. Her husband, was Arthur Harper - no issue (I have lots of pictures of her and a small journal of hers). She died in California, but is buried in Pawnee City, NE.
3. Frank Aikins married Anna Blance Meader, one daughter Ruth Aladene Aikins, there was issue of this marriage. He died Council Bluffs, Iowa.
4. Ruby Jane Aikins married Clark Finley, no issue. She is buried in Niles, Kansas.

I did post some of the pictures on Findagrave. Obituaries would be located in various locations.
Emma Edna Bray was the daughter of my 2nd generation maternal great grandfather Zalmon Bray and sister to my 1st generation maternal great grandfather Byron Bray/e. My records show she married Christian Bernard Mapes. The link to the 1880 US Census record that shows Emma as the daughter of Zalmon and Ida Adeline (Barber) Bray is http://o.mfcreative.com/f1/file06/objects/3/e/0/63e037a2-0cb....
