Hello. I am looking for any information regarding the parents of Jessie May Breeding, born on February 28, 1876 in Indiana, married Albon Lafayette Marsh in 1892, moved to Nebraska, then Oregon, then California, and married Lyman Carlos Pike about 1915 after Albon's death. She had children with both husbands. She died in Fresno, California on May 15, 1956. Census records indicate her father was from Pennsylvania and her mother from Missouri. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Trying to find the marriage record of John Breeding and his second wife, Mary "Mamie" Brown, who was previously married to (1) Lucas Moore and (2) John Phelps. John's first wife, Christi Cole, died in 1927 and is listed living with second wife, Mamie Breeding, in Johnson County in 1930 census. I believe they were married in Johnson County or thereabouts. I'm particularly interested in a copy of the application for marriage license.

I have the following info for Margaret Breeding (1786-1865) Hurst that was married to Elijah Hurst (1785-1857. Married 1806 in Wythe County, VA or TN. I have found info on both states but have yet been able to verify. I found info that her parents could be John Breeding (1765-1834) and Anna Hill (1776-1841). I am concerned about all the conflicting info that I find because I believe people start a tree and get overly excited about finding possible family without doing much research. Hope this is some help!! My mom's maiden name is Hurst making Elijah my great great great great grandfather.

I prefer that you keep all your originals in your family but we would love to have a scanned copy. My great-grandpa Hugh Breeding was the founder of this company in 1932.

I would be interested in corresponding through email to see if you can tell me your uncle's name.
I have in my posession a photo taken of truck # 186 belonging to the Hugh Breeding Transport Inc. There is no date on the picture. There is a bunch of men posing in front of the truck and my Uncle is standing at the far right of these men.

The whole name of the company is not showing (only the last 2 letters--GH of the first name) so I Googled just what I could see and found that the company is the Hugh Breeding Transport, Inc. I think the picture was taken mid 1930's.

My uncle bought another car transport company sometime after this picture was taken (I think).

His son lives in Florida and I am going to send the picture to him. But if you want I can ask him if he knows anything about this picture as he would be the one to give permission to give it to you. I will wait for your reply and talk to my cousin before I do anything.

My father, Bud White worked for Hugh Breeding. He was from Maysville, AR and moved to Baxter Springs, KS to work for him. At that time, Hugh Breeding had an office on Baxter's main street. Dad just died last Sunday and I was helping to write his obituary and was just thinking about Hugh Breeding. I believe Maysville was Hugh Breeding's homeplace. I remember going to his house. His house was first and I remember a massive huge home on back. They raised cattle. I think Cecil lived there with his wife and childred. I might have pictures of Cecilia Ann, not sure but I will look. My Dad was best friends with Cecil Breeding, a son of Hugh Breeding. Are you from Cecil's side of the family?
I am 67. When I was about four or five, Dad took us to a company party in Tulsa. So that picture would be 63 years ago. I still have a picture of the large group of people. Your relatives could be in it.

I also knew Hugh Breeding's mother, maybe a sister. A wonderful woman that lived in Baxter Springs, KS. She was a friend of my grandmother, Iva Jo White. They went to church together. (Holiness church)
Your family was much loved by my family. You may call me 417-357-1400. I live near Branson, MO.
Hi,
I'm not familiar with any of the names you referred to. The ancestry of Breedings on my tree come from a Breeding slave owner who fathered my great, great, great, grandmother's three children. Through Ancestry, I was able to make this connection and as a result have been able to go back beyond the 10th century, which is amazing. My grand parents were from Valhermosa Springs in Morgan County. I am in Maryland and will return home this week-end. I will look in some records I have to see if I have anything on other Breedings in Morgan County. I sent an e-mail to the address you gave but it was returned as being unknown.
My great-grandfather, Hugh Breeding, was President of Hugh Breeding’s Trucks, Hugh Breeding Convoy, The Hugh Breeding Transport Company and then ultimately, Hugh Breeding, Inc. He was a pioneer of automobile and petroleum hauling in the southwestern United States. He ran these series of companies from around the 1920's to 1972.

I am looking to get in contact with anyone who worked at the company or had relatives who once worked for the company.

Looking for further information on Ferdinan Breeding (1860-????)

I am looking for any descendants (or further information) of Ferdinan Breeding (March 1860-???). He is the younger brother of my g-g-grandfather, Joel Huston Breeding.

He was married before 1880. He then spent time in the State Prison in Nashville starting around February 1880. The crime he committed was mule stealing in Warren County, Tennessee. Ferd would spend three years in prison residing in the Local Prison 15th Ward of Davidson County.

He was discharged to Tracy City in 1882. Tracy City was a town where convicts were released and could get jobs working on the local railroad.

However, within a few months, he would soon get in trouble with the law once again – this time for horsestealing.

Upon his second release from prison, family legend has it that his brother (Andrew J. Breeding) met him, gave him a suit of clothes and $25.00, and told him to move out West and that if he ever saw him again, he would kill him. No one ever heard from Ferdinan again. Apparently he left, and probably changed his identity, and just dropped from sight.

The census data we have on Ferd is as follows:

On the 1860 US Federal Census, Ferd Breeding (age 3 months) is living in District 1, Overton County, TN with his parents Byram Breeding (age 40); Patience (age 36); his brothers John (age 17); James (age 12); George (age 9); Andrew (age 6); Joel H (age 4); and his sister Louisa (age 11)

On the 1870 US Federal Census, Ferdinon Breeding (located in District 1, Overton County, TN) appears as being 8 years old; other members of his household are his mom Patia Breeding (age 46 – farmer); Andrew (age 17 – working servant); Huston (age 15 – farm hand); Mary Jane (age 6); Martha Chaper (age 55 - Farmer); Joe W. Chaper (age 10); Mary Moris (age 20 – working servant); This census was taken June 21, 1870.

On the 1880 US Federal Census, Ferd Breeding appears as being 20 years old and a prisoner (located in 15th Ward of Tennessee Date Penitentiary, Nashville, Davidson County, TN); his marital status is married (wife unknown);

A few years ago several people were trying to pinpoint Breeding/Breeden properties on Pass Run, a branch of the Great Hawksbill. Included in the query was the question
of whether Pass Run went through Gooney's Manor.

This website has a lot of detail about Gooney's Manor &
Gooney's Run and can probably help researchers locate property
on a map.

http://www.browntowncommunity.com/History_of_Browntown.html

Hi, My name is Vicki Liner Zikas and my GGGrandfather was
William S Breeding who lived in Lane County, OR and I thank
you for posting the pictures of their headstones. Many of
our west coast ancestors had such intriging lives crossing
the Oregon trail. Who I am trying to find some info on
is William P Breeding who was William S's son. What I am
trying to find out is his wife's maiden name. I know she was
born in about 1830 in Kentucky. Her name was Mary Jane and
they were supposed to be married in 1851 in Linn County, Missouri and I know she died in 1891 in Palouse, WA where
they are both buried. I am wondering if it might have been
Linn County, OR as William P went back to Missouri in 1850
to bring his parents William S and Elizabeth to OR.
Anyway, sorry this is so long but my question would be
if you could possibly know anything about them.
Thanks for your time and if you have any further info on
William S Breeding I would love to hear it. By the way,
I live in Olympia, WA.

Dear Mr. Breeding, My name is Tara Breeding Mobley and I am in the process of tracing my family's genealogy in Kentucky. I have gotten so far and it seems I am at a standstill in trying to locate information on my gg grandfather Milton (Mike) Breeding who was African American. I do know according to census reports that he was born in Kentucky and he married Polly Pounds (whose family came from VA (Halifax County). I have located my gg grandmother's (Polly) death certificate but I can't locate anything on him other than a census report that shows him in the house of a family called Theopolius and a article where my grandmother Polly (whose mother Phyllis), was raised by the Hiser's of Kentucky, talks about Milton (Mike) and the fact that they had 8 children. The towns mentioned were Center, Edmonton, Barren county, and there were a few others but I would need to look the information up. I was told there is a cemetary that holds some of there remains. If you or anyone could help me, I would appreciate it. My other family that lived in Kentucky around the same area was the Johnson's, Hopkins, Richardson's, Frazier's and Ray's.

Please see the article I found on my grandmother Polly: http://www.aagriots.org/kentucky/Metcalfe/pbreeding.htm

Thank you for an opportunity to share a little of my history.

Are you still willing to send these Breeding photos? I would love to see them. I am descended from Nancy Snell Breeding and Henry Snell, who were married in Ohio, then went west to Iowa and Oregon.

Thank you!

Emaline Breedin(g) 1831-1884 Lawrence County, Ohio

Seeking information on family of Emaline Breedin(g). She was born 08 Dec 1831 in Burlington Fayette Twp Lawrence Co., Ohio. Her mother's name was Mary Turvey. It doesn't appear that Mary was married to Emaline's father. They were a number of(Breedin):-) young men in neighborhood(census records)
who could have been the father. Emaline married David Goodall 1850 in Lawrence Co., Ohio. She died 1884 in Union Twp Lawrence Co., Ohio. She is buried at the Suiter Cem in Union Twp. David and Emaline were my gggrandparents. Anyone have any ideals who are father and his parents were?
