I will definitely give her a call. I am interested in what she has to say. My great grandmother name was Nancy/Nancie Briggs and her son, my grandfather was named Essic Briggs. My grandfather name has been listed as Essick & Essie on the census reports and as E S Briggs on his death certificate. and on his grave marker it is Essex. I truly think the correct spelling is Essic. He is listed in the 1880 census as being one year old and as a son of Alford, but he was actually Alford's grandson. I hope Bettie has some info on Sallie, because I don't know anything about her.

Jesse Briggs

I am researching Jesse Briggs in my family tree. He was born Sept.22, 1784 and died May 19,1844 in upstate New York near Albion, NY in Orleans County. We located the cemetery where he was buried along with his Anna Chase (4/2/1790 - 5/27/1849) and many of his children (Calvin, David, Ira, etc.). Believe he lived and married in Saratoga County prior to moving to Orleans county and that he may have been born in Massachusetts. Does anyone have more information about this family?

William and Clara did, indeed have Leroy Briggs. Can be found in th 1910 Moreau, Saratoga, NY census with children William Kenyon Briggs; Vanetta; Leroy and Frank and sister in laws Kathenrine and Edna Kenyon. In the 1920 census, William and Clara are in Glens Falls at 3 William St with child Elizabeth added to the previous 1910 children; in 1930 William and clara are back in Moreau.
William H Briggs is the son of John H Briggs and Cora Pickett; find in the 1900 Kingsbury census with family.
Cora Briggs is Cora Pickett, daughter of Samuel D Pickett; also refered to as David S Pickett in later years.

Clara Kenyon is the daughter of Herbert Kenyon and Dora Almira Stanton. Find that family in the 1900 Fort Edward Census.
I am hunting down a Rosanna or Rosina Briggs, who I suspect was born in Dutchess County about 1805, and married Cyrus F. Covell around 1825. They later moved to Bath, NY until the 1860s when they moved to Minnesota.

There are a ton of Briggs in Dutchess Cty, but have not seen any families referring to a Rosanna. Resources online are scarce but if anyone has information, I would be grateful.

Hi

My name is David Briggs and Nathaniel Briggs (born abt 1804 Keene,Cheshire,Co.NH)and Sylvia Lockwood (born abt 1824 Lyndon, Cattaraugus Co. NY) appear to be my GGGrandparents. It appears that Nathaniel Briggs (Born abt 1770) and Eunice Brintnall were the parents, however, I can't find any documentation to support this. I am hoping you might be able to help me on this. It was confusing in the begining of my search because apparently Nathaniel and Daniel are the same person. Any help would be appreciated.
Briggs family question Yates Co. NY

Hi. I wondered if anyone had information on a Mary Briggs who was born about Nov. 1842 in Dresden, Yates, NY. Her parents were listed as Stephen Briggs and Sarah A Graves. This information came from a distant relative who doesn't remember where exactly they found it.
I have confirmed that Mary Briggs was born in Dresden and her mother was Sarah Graves. If her father was Stephen Briggs he probably died before 1848. Sarah Graves Briggs married Samuel Buckley and their first son Norton was born about 1849.
I know there were a lot of Briggs family in Yates, NY. I have found a couple of Stephen's but they don't seem to tie in to my family.
Mary Briggs sometimes was listed as Mary Buckley. She married John Hughes around 1860 and moved to Buffalo.
If anyone has any information at all I'd love to hear from you! Thanks

Now you have peak my interest since I have one Briggs I can't not find his parents whatsoever. All I do know of his name is Caleb T Briggs born(We hope)in Warwick New York. Now the thing is I have asked twice if the Orange County of New York Genealogical Society of a family Briggs living near the time of Caleb T Briggs birth which was May 2,1810. Now the other odd thing is in the second census record I find my Caleb T Briggs is here in Michigan now they list him and his wife Elizabeth Ursula Morrill plus extra person a Betsey Briggs born in 1834 in Ohio. But the thing is that my Caleb T Briggs and Elizabeth Ursula Morrill didn't marry until 1836 in Jackson(Jacksonburgh)Michigan. So I having heck of time trying to find any kind of clue for Caleb T Briggs parents or even siblings if he had any.If you need to check my tree it Briggs Fmaily Tree should be public.
