Dear Ray this is perhaps 10 years too late and I cannot understand why I did not see this thread years before but I am a descendent of the Winster Brittlebanks and have been struggling to find info on the Andrew/Catharina Margarethe brood after Andrew died and she sold up and left the UK. They were an interesting lot: I have info on oldest son Andrew and his son Dr Cecil Albert PHd OBE. Of Clothilde's siblings: William is well documented: his book on Persia, the Klondike, South Africa and hunting, discovering oil and dying in Mombasa, Beatrice 2nd wife of Maurice Lippmann in Paris , Esther married a German officer called von Tschudi - another interesting family -according to a note in the records office in Matlock I saw this summer - and Clothilde married to the mysterious sculptor Andreoni. Herbert died in Pisa in the 20's maybe Is there anyway I can send you a personal message? I am only a visitor here and I hope you get this - I would be very happy to share what I have.

Hi Jeff,
Lost the message back to yourself - finger trouble - so starting again.
Many thanks for your reply, another gap to be filled in the history of this fascinating Derbyshire family. Several were Attorneys-at-Law and solicitors and were wealthy.
Have researched much of the English and Australian branches, now working on the German and Italian lines. I have no family connection.
Once more, many thanks for your kind reply.
RAY

Orazio Luis Andreoni married Clottilde Brittlebank in 1878. Clottilde, daughter of Catherina Margaretha and Francis Brittlebank lived in Winster, Derbyshire, England. The Brittlebank family were a wealthy family of lawyers. It is thought that Catherina joined Clottilde and Orazio in Rome where she died in 1906. Have much history of the family. `can anyone help to further the story?
