Hi there Emma,
Likewise i come from a Broadley familiy that was in Cleethorpes back in the late 1700's. I keep running across "Fred" and while he is not of my family I keep wondering if he was a long lost uncle. After all, Cleethorpse was a pretty small place. Do any of these names ring a bell on your family tree...

William Broadley abt 1760-1830. His wife's name was Mary and reportedly they were grocers in the town as late as 1829. I have tracked down three of their children christened in Clee:
John Broadley (carpenter) 1789-1859 who settled in Grimoldby
Sammuel Broadley (cloth wholesaler) 1792-1816 died young of scarlet fever
Susannah Broadley 1795- of whom I do not have a trace of info

Do any of these names and dates ring a bell with your family tree? You can have a more detailed view of my tree by viewing the public Broadley Family tree here at ancestry.com

cheers
-Scott
sbroadley@broadleyjames.com
Richard Rushton Broadley 1826 bap Altham, lancs, probably illegitimate son of Jane Broadley b 1806. he says specifically in ?1861 that he was born in the Moorside.Other censuses, he says Clayton le Moors. In 1841 there is a Jane Broadley b 1806 in the Moorside in Clayton le Moors, a weaver, living with her father, John and sister. On the same double page is a Rushton family, father Edward. If you then look for a Richard Rushton 1806, living in Northumberland I think, miner, you will find he has an eldest son, Edward and was born Clayton le moors

I am making a new posting to a very old one of mine. I now have proof of the marriage of William Bradley & Laura Lyons m. Feb 14, 1877 at the house of Silas Dole in Washington County, OR by Minister, George Ross. George Ross was born in Scotland in 1894 and emigrated between 1872 and 1875. It is thought that William was a seaman from Scotland. Maybe there is a connection between the two men.

Broadley

I am trying to trace my GG Grandfathers' ancestors. The information I have is vague. Charles Frederick John Broadley was born about 1807 (possibly Belfast). He married Eliza Wade in Paisley (Abbey), Scotland in 1833. Charles was in the army (Royal Scots) and died in 1850 whilst in Halifax, NS aged 43. I know (from a letter) that Charles' mother was alive in 1850 and aged over 75. By inference I assume his father was dead at that time. The IGI doesn't produce any hits for Charles' birth. Can anyone help?

Hello. I am searching for information on Joseph Broadley (Yorkshire DOB 10/10/1880) married Ada Zilla (Einson or Ine). They immigrated to the US and lived in NJ. These were my great-grandparents. They had five children: Joseph (DOB 2/4/09), Harold (DOB 6/25/18); Priscilla, Emma Jane and Gam. Harold was my grandfather and passed away January 2004. If you have any information that may help me to connect my family tree - please contact me. I would love to hear from you. I know that I have extended family still in England but don't know where to look. This is all new to me.

I think you are talking about my grandfather, but I'm not 100%... I always thought that it was his grandmother that was of native american heritage, but I thought her name was Sara Rainwater. I know that my aunt has done a lot of research on our family tree. If we are talking about the same people maybe I can see if I can get the info that my aunt has.

Francis Robert (Castle) Broadley

Hello, my name is Natasha Broadley I contacted you a couple of years ago about my great granddad Francis Robert Broadley-I have recently been emailed by the Leicester Tigers Rugby team that a F.R. Broadley played for them in Leicester during 1911-1914, I was also told this by my Nan, who was married to my late granddad-Frank Broadley (his son), she said that my granddad had mentioned to her that before his dad left the family in Leicester he played for the tigers and the Leicester Cricket team. I still haven’t found out where Francis Robert Broadley moved to when he left his 4 children (including my granddad Broadley), but in Leicester where I was born, he was married to a Tamara and had 3 girls and a boy. Does anyone know by any chance where he moved to? it has been mentioned that he was born in Yorkshire, do you know where about’s and if he was married or had children there? I have also been told that the name may have originally Castle-Broadley, does that ring a bell?

Happy new year

Natasha Broadley
Hi Cynthia,
I'm not sure if we have any connection.
Neville and I appear to link up, we have George Broadley and Martha Tempest, children born 1850's and 1860's and Joseph
Broadley and Martha Luddington, children born about the same time. Both families were in the Leeds area before some of them came to N.Z..
Regards,
Vivian
