I am searching for info on Tristram Brown and his father Hezekiah Brown. They came to Erie Co,Pa in or near 1800. Any info on their past would be helpful. I will share what I have of the 12 children of Lyman and Lovina Brown.

I do not have much information on Tristram (my 4th great grandfather through his daughter Persiana). I have his will if you need it. How do you know that Hezekiah is his father?

I can offer a possible Hezekiah based on other info and census data. The most likely Hezekiah was baptized July 19, 1743 at Norwich, CT and married Martha Young in 1764 per Cynthia Ingalls Brown's book which can be viewed on HeritageQuest and also found on a Stephentown genealogy website about descendants of Richard Browne. His father and grandfather were named Tristram so naming a son Tristram is logical. I am interested in any info you have if Hezekiah is truly descended from Richard.

My info on Hezekiah comes from a book "Revolutionary Patriots in Erie County, Pa. It lists Hezekiah Brown on Page 12. It lists 3 known children. 1 Hezekiah 2 Lemuel mar Sarah Looomis, dau of Seth Loomis. 6 children recorded in family. 3 Tristram, b 22 Aug 1767, d 28 Feb 1846, Nortj East Twp, Erie Co., Pa, bur Oak Hill Cem, North East. He was a physician, and it is recorded that he came from RI.
If you have any further info on Hezekiah or Tristram, I would love to see it. I do not have wives names.

I did a little more investigating but can't add to my previous suggestion that Hezekiah might be son of Tristram Brown Jr. and Abigail Parke. Family Search has a little, somewhat inconsistent info about Hezekiah. Born in 1741 in Canterbury, CT and christened there or in Coventry, RI. The locations are 20 miles apart. One item stated he died in Granville, NY. The family did move there. A possible way of checking on the relationship is through y-DNA analysis if you know of a male Brown who descends in an unbroken male Brown line. I have a study going which includes descendents of Tristram and two brothers.
Interesting that you live in MI. I recently found that my 4th g-grandfather's brother Simeon moved to MI following four sons - Aaron, Luther, Enoch, Hiram - who lived in Tekonsha, Otisca and Olive which is south of you.

I am hoping to find the connection to my 2nd great grandfather, Richard Gibson Brown. He was born abt. 1800 in NY, VT or OH (census records of his children differ). He lived in Rock Island Co., IL about 1840 - 1848 where he married Rebecca MOORE in 1844 and they had children: Loammi Byron, Benjamin Franklin, Susan and Richard Gibson.

Thanks for any help!
Beth

I have no info on names earlier than Hezekiah. Would love to see what you have in that regard. Did you see my answers to messages about where I found the info showing Tristram to be the son Of Hezekiah? Jo

Keep in mind that this Hezekiah Brown of Granville, NY (1790 census) may or may not be the Hezekiah in Erie in 1800. I am basing my speculation on his birth date of 1741 as being consistent with having a son Tristram in 1766 and the fact that his father and grandfather were named Tristram. Also in the 1790 Granville census is a Tristram Brown, the only one in the 1790 census. Since his father and a brother named Tristram died in the 1760's, this Tristram might be Hezekiah's son. Neither Hezekiah nor Tristram are in the 1800 Granville census. Another possible Hezekiah is in the Watertown, CT 1790 census but I can't find other information about him. So this is Hezekiah's line:
Hezekiah Brown b. Canterbury, CT Jul 5, 1741; m. Martha Young May 3, 1764
Tristram Brown b. Mar 17, 1702 Newbury, MA; m. Abigail Parke; d. Feb 16, 1763 Amenia, NY
Tristram Brown b. Dec 21, 1672 Newbury, MA; m. Mary Tilton; d. 1755, Norwich, CT
Joshua Browne b. Apr 10, 1651 Newbury, MA; m. Sarah Sawyer; d. Mar 20, 1719 Newbury, MA
Richard Browne b. about 1614 England; m. Edith Holt then Elizabeth Greenleaf; d. Apr 26, 1651 Newbury, MA

Hezekiah lived in Amenia, NY prior to Granville. Perhaps Tristram is in the birth records in Amenia.

I did read your previous message.
