I am searching the for George Brown's parents. He was born in Ireland, May 7, 1845. He married Lavinia Windsor b. 1848, Ontario. I have found a link to potential parents - Samuel Brown b. 1806, Holbrook, Derbyshire, EN and Hannah (no last name) b. 1813, Limby, Nottinghamshire, EN. And another link to his grandfather, Henry Brown b.1775 Derbyshire, EN. But the born in Ireland has throwen me. If anyone has any information on George Brown, he is my great grandfather. Thank-you, JB

John Thomas Brown-new clues?-dead end still

According to our info
John Thomas Brown was born in Missouri on
October 2, 1921.
He got his social security card in Kansas.

Clue we got from his dad.. He lived with a police officer some time after he ran away. We don't know when, but he also thinks maybe he took the name brown from the police officer. We speculate that the police officer also got him to get his social security card.

Other thing my father in law remembers is at some point (he can't remember when-not much to go on) he saw on the news or newspaper that someone was running for some thing (maybe school superintendent, he can't remember, again not much to go on) he just remembers it was a long, hard to say, possiblely Indian name.

He worked in the Portland Oregon area for a while, he met his wife, Virginia May Picklesimer there and worked for her dad, James Picklesimer there.
John Brown and Virginia Picklesimer got married about 1947.
they had two sons, John brown 1950 (died) and Thomas Brown (1952)

I don't know how to search for this. He ran away around 1933,

dead end - John Thomas Brown - Missouri

We hit a dead end with my husbands grandpa. Even with social security number and stuff, we can not find anything past him. He ran away from home when he was around 12. His birthdate (that we speculate may have been changed since he ran away) is October 2, 1921. He was supposed to have been born in Missouri, and his social security card was received in Kansas.
He came to Oregon and married Virginia Picklesimer. He worked for her dad and at some point they got married.
Family was not a subject that was really talked about, so we know nothing.
He died with all his secrets on August 29, 1990 in Hood River, Oregon.

The only hints we MIGHT have is some pictures that were found in his wallet. we think he had 5 sisters, but we are not sure. On my tree I have some pictures that are VERY worn of what we think are his mom and sisters.. hoping someone will see them and maybe recognize them!

if anyone has any clues or ideas to help me out that would be great!!

I know this reply is a year later and probably means nothing, but I though I should share anyway.

I am researching BROWNs and GIBSONs as well and looking for the marriage of a GIBSON female to a BROWN male around 1820 in possibly NY or OH. Sorry that this isn't much info. All that I have is my 3rd great grandfather's name of Richard Gibson BROWN. It is merely conjecture that his middle name was his mother's maiden name. Census records from his children list their father's place of birth as unknown, OH and NY. No documented birth year, but again conjecture (based on his wife's age)that he was born around 1820. He disappeared from the Rock Island, IL area shortly after his last son was born (to Rebecca MOORE)in 1848.

Rebecca was born in Licking County, OH in 1821. There is a Richard BROWN who owned land near MOOREs in Licking County, OH.

Thanks for any leads!

Cherokee Browns- My 3rd great gradmother was Rebecca MorningStar. We think that her mom was a Issaru/Issabel Brown that was Cherokee. She may have been married to a MorningStar and remarried a another man? Because her child is one year older than the oldest child and when they were married. A lto of other factors are involved in the family to show Rebecca came another way in- most lilkly with her mom.
Trying to see if she may fit in with the Browns of the Warren county reservation. She lived over in the Holmes/Wayne area.
Rebecca was born "somewhere" in Ohio around 1824-25.

Brown Family Alberton & Missoula Montana area 1885-1917

I am looking for any information anyone has about the Brown family in the Alberton & Missoula Montana area 1887-1917. My Greatgrandfather was John Brown(1902), who's father was also named John Brown(1870). John Brown(1870) settled in what is now the Alberton Montana area. His brother was Henry Brown who sold his ranch or part of it to the railroad. Alberton is built on his former property. John Brown (1870) had property down the road from Henry, or at least as far as I can tell from the surveys I have seen. John Brown(1870) married Nettie Leach in 1893 in Montana. They had four sons. Edgar Louis Brown, Frank B. Brown, John Brown (my grandfather), and Hubert Brown. Edgar and Frank both died in 1902 from diptheria. In fact one of them died in one room while my grandfather was being born in the other. The other died five days later. John Brown (1870) died in 1910 when my grandfather was only eight years old. His mother left the area and remarried. I have just recently began digging up info on their time in Montana. Edgar, Frank, John (1870), and Henry are all buried in the Missoula Cemetary. Henry and John had a brother Conrad, and a sister in the area named Louisa Brown Lehr. I believe she is also in the Missoula cemetary. I believe they had at least one other sister, and maybe more siblings, but they either were not in the area, or had passed. I know from the obits they arrived in the area around 1885-1886, but have been unable to find records to verify this. The first evidence of them arriving in Montana is the 1900 census. If anyone has any additional info it would be appreciated.
