Hi, Just discovered the message board and read old and new posts. My father was James Wesley Broxton (1918-1963), son of George Allen Broxton(My grandmother was Bertha May Lewis Broxton), son of James Allen Broxton--beyond that I don't know, but would like to know. My grandfather's 2nd wife was a Newsome. I have a lot of info, but haven't looked at it in a while, nothing beyond James Allen Broxton (wife: Fontella Aribella Royal) bethbroxton@yahoo.com

Beth Broxton

I'm desperatley looking for the death of an Edith Ellen Broxton (Broxton was her married name) She was born 1887/1888 and some other family trees have her death as 1922 on here, however this is incorrect as I have found children listed for her up until 1926. Her maiden name was Lane if this helps.

Is this my cousin? This is Stephanie Templet. Templet is my married name, I'm a Sanford. My mother is Gloria Sanford and my late father is Donald Ray Sanford. My father had 2 sisters, Shirley and Betty. My Aunt Shirley married a Broxton, and has 4 sons whom I have not seen in a long time. I remember going to my Aunt Shirley and Uncle's house in Montgomery, Alabama all the time when I was young. I remember us kids being close to all 4 boys, Scott,Wade,Mark and Edwin I think. I hope this is you. Really miss my dads side of the family.

I was very interested in the info regarding William Broxton. Do you have any collaborative source info regarding William Broxton? In particular, the only birthdate I see for him is 1775. Is your family tree posted for any detail info?

I did live in NC growing up but live in S. California now. I just attended a Broxton family reunion in NC in July.

I am the granddaughter of Jimmie M. Broxton. He was married twice and my mother is the daughter from the second marriage. I do not know his first wife's name (I believe he had at least two girls as a result). My grandmother's name was Emma (I think) nee Pope and she passed away when I was about three years old. Their children are: Jimmie M., Jr., Sidney, and Ema (my mother). At some point, Jimmie M., Sr. moved to Pensacola, FL. If you are still looking for more information, let me know and I will contact my mother.

Hi Steve,
I'm not Rebecca, but am looking for the same family. I too would love to see your tree. I believe that your William Broxton, husband of Sarah was a brother to my ggg grandad John, husband of Mary Ann Glisson. I've been searching for their parents who apparently gave birth to them in Duplin Co., N. Carolina. Do you live in the south? I am in Indiana but visited Sardis,Burke County, Ga. in May. I was looking for some cemeteries with Broxtons, but was unable to locate them. So, any info you have will be greatly appreciated! Debbie Broxton Rinehart

He is my GG grandfather and his father was John Broxton b. 1770; who married Mary Ann Glisson. But I can't get any more information beyond him. He was born in Duplin Co., NC and I believe he could have brothers or first cousins William, Thomas and possibly James. Appreciate any other info you have! Debbie Broxton Rinehart

Hello Sue
My family have researched a few generations back to find that alot of Broxtons have all come from the Chirbury, Montgomery, Warrington, Ludlow areas.

Regards to Sarah Broxton ... We have found four sarah broxtons born on 1806, 1811, 1860 and 1863

There is also a Sarah Jane (but we dont know her surname) she was born in 1874 and Married my Great Grandfather Edward Broxton who was born in 1873. (is this the edward you were looking at??)

They had 8 or 9 children
We think the oldest was edward named after his father- who was also known as Ted

The others were (in no particular order)
Harold, Gladis, James-Percy, Kitty, Tom, Dorothy and Walter (who is my grandfather)
we also belive there was a Henry but we dont think he had any children so alot of his detail have been lost.

Walter my grandfather was born in 1909 and Married my nan Mair

They had two sons

Mike or (michael broxton) and my father philip robert broxton

Philip married Fiona J Cunningham and had three children
Myself James Philip Broxton
Katy Fiona Broxton
and Chloe broxton

Hope this is helpful.
I have a Charlotte Anna Broxton, I also have her having a son, Andrew Jackson Broxton 1 Mar 1852, she was only 14 at the time. The child was given to a Adaline Perkins and she and the child was driven to Holmes county Florida. Are you sure of the parents of Charlotte Anna? I have seen on Census a John W. Broxton in the same household which would fit her fathers age, but didn't show a mother. I show john coming from S.C.

Kelly,
I can search out photos and scan them. My mom Ruth Broxton often spoke of Clarabell. I don't recall ever meeting her. There is so much I know about Jennie Maud, Nanna. There were years that she practically raised me. My dad died young and Nanna lived with us for sometime and then I spent much time in Boston. I learned to ride a bike outside her house. She loved to grow roses, hollyhocks... Great, great, old fashioned cook.. nothing was wasted. She always looked stern - she had a hard life. I knew her as having a heart of gold. She was very religious. I could go on and on. I will look for the photos. How can I send them to you.
Marlene
