Mary Bruno, age 63 of Erie, passed away Sunday, April 22, 2012, at Independence Court. She was born in Erie, October 14, 1948, a daughter of the late Louis and Margaret Settino Bruno. Mary graduated from St. Benedict Academy in 1966 and began employment at First National Bank and later was employed by the City of Erie for 35 years. She was the Accounts and Finance Manager and retired in 2002. She had a great love for her pet dog Ami, cat Missy and her beloved late dog, Princess. She was a member of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church. Survivors include a sister, Phyllis Simonin of Michigan; two nephews, Mark Simonin and Matthew Simonin, wife Kortney also of Michigan as well as numerous cousins. Friends may call at Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, LLP, Pine Avenue Branch, 845 East 38th Street, Wednesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and may attend services there on Thursday at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church. I need help trying to find my great grandfather Philip Bruno born in Italy between April 8 & Dec 2, 1885. He was in Brooklyn, NY in 1910. My grandmother Ethel Dolly Eleanor was born in 1912 & her brother George Philip was born 1911. Their mother was Hedda Elinora(Eleanor) Nelson daughter of Matilda & John August Nelson from Sweden. On the birth certificates he's a Barber & his name is spelled Philop.

My great great grandfather was named Juan Bruno Marzan and was born in 1865. Possibly there is a connection. He resided later in Espinosa, Vega Alta. Please let me know if this information seems relevant to your inquiry. Good Luck. I am trying to find the Bruno lineage as well.

I am not sure how much I can help, but I have somewhat similar names in my ancestry. Two of my great-grandmother's older sisters were named Rosie and Carmelita Bruno (she was known as Aunt Carmel to my grandmother, Eva M. Comi (my Grandmother's maiden name is Stiles).

My great-grandmother passed away in 2008. Her name was Olympia I. Bruno. Her first marriage was to John Stiles.

Olympia Bruno's father came from or around Naples, Italy. Her mother was from the Florence area (the countryside, I believe).

I would like to share information with you about the Bruno Naro family. I have found some information about the Naro family, also.

Having a difficult time going back further on the Bruno side. I thought it would be easier since the Bruno side of the family was so big!

I have started a family tree which can be viewed at myheritage.com with Patty Clelland as the administrator if you are interested. I'm also trying to gather photographs to add to the sight.

My gg grandfather Salvadore came to the US in 1878 at the age of 12. At one point he worked in Denver Colorado then returned to Renovo PA where he lived out the rest of his life. Salvadore's parents were Gesuele Bruno and Maria Vicinotti of San Fili, Consena Providence of Calabria Italy. So close to your info it is strange. Unfortunately Salvadore's sister Concetta was born Oct 1876 in Italy and married Joseph Pizziano in 1892 together they had 7 children. Shame our tree couldn't connect. Maria Concetta is on the 1910 census with her husband Michele Manfredi, and two of their children were also listed. Her brother came over just before her, probably around 1900, and Michele said that he was going to join him in Colorado.

Concetta's father is Dominic and mother is Mary (or Maria). They would have stayed in Italy, somewhere in Calabria, perhaps Grimaldi.

My Great grandfather Salvadore had a sister Concetta Bruno who was born in San Fili Italy on October 1876 she married Joseph Pizzino in 1892 or are you looking for Dominic Bruno's wife Concetta (Perri) on 06/01/1892 in Manhattan NY. She is on the 1910 & 1920 Census for Clinton County PA. Donemico (Dominic) also traveled back to Italy with Salvadore in 1912. They arrived back to the USA through Ellis Island on October 18, 1912 from Naples Italy on the Taormina ship. He also traveled with his son Diego (Domonic John Bruno 06/24/1920) who was 8 years old. Both were US Citizens in 1912. Their group of children were: James March 1874, Joseph May 1877, Salvadore 10/23/1866, John M. 03/07/1881, Mickilini ??, Concetta October 1876, Dominic 02/13/1870 and Eugene ??. Their parents were Gesuele Bruno and Maria Vicinotti of Italy. Hope this helps and is the family you are looking for!!

I'm looking for my Bruno ancestors. My grandmother was Concetta Maria Bruno, and she and her husband, Michele Manfredi were from Calabria. On the ship passenger list when Michele came to America in 1900, he stated he was going to stay with his brother-in-law in Colorado. I also found that my mother wrote Concetta's parents' names in my baby book - she listed them as Dominic and Mary. So basically I'm looking for Concetta Bruno's brother, who was supposed to be in Colorado. She and Michael did not go to Colorado, but stayed in Queens, NY.

was called home by our Lord to feast at His table on Holy Thursday, April 21, 2011.
She was born on March 20, 1937,
the daughter of the late Anthony and Florence (Zastawa) Tatara.
Living her entire life in Erie,
she graduated from Holy Rosary in 1951 and St. Benedict Academy HS in 1955. Before putting her career on hold to raise her family, she was employed by Graybar Electric for nine years as a secretary. Upon returning to the work force she was employed by Kmart, in the camera and jewelry department, until her retirement in 1990. A long time member of St. Julia Roman Catholic Church, she served as a CCD teacher for 13 years, was a Eucharistic Minister, lector and belonged to the Rosary Society and Prayer Line. After her own illness, Rose ministered to the sick at Hamot Hospital as a Eucharistic Minister. God gave her a blank canvas and, like the true artist she was, she created a beautiful tapestry of her life, entwined with what was important to her: faith, family and friends. Her faith, along with prayers from family and friends, gave her the strength to live each day to the fullest, giving her the courage to smile, knowing and trusting that God would never give her more than what she could handle. All this helped her overcome her battle with cervical cancer and then, later in her life, deal with pancreatic cancer. Married happily for 53 years and profoundly proud of her three children and five grandchildren, Rose instilled into them a lifetime of memories, woven by love, faith, laughter, smiles, tears and friendships. She enjoyed family time, church traditions, watching her grandchildren grow, singing, sewing and crocheting, golfing, playing the piano and sharing with others her talents for woodworking and tole painting. Survivors include her husband, Nicholas J. Bruno;

BOARDMAN, Ohio – There will be funeral services on Monday, April 18, at noon at the Thompson Funeral Home, 4221 Market St., Boardman for Jack Anthony Bruno Jr., 52, also known as “Sonny” who died Thursday, April 14, 2011, at Cleveland Clinic of complications from open heart surgery.

Sonny was a match to donate a kidney to his sister, Joanne after he recovered from surgery. Unfortunately, his kidneys were compromised and he was unable to fulfill his desire.

He was a devoted brother, loving father, loyal friend, a fun uncle and great-uncle, and had a sense of humor that was contagious. His passion for karaoke will always be remembered by all who knew and loved him.

He was born July 9, 1958, in Youngstown, Ohio the son of the late Jack Anthony and Antoinette Altrudi Bruno Sr.

Sonny graduated from Boardman High School in 1976.
He was a master carpenter and owned and operated Bruno Builders for many years, and was a member of the Carpenters & Joiners Union No. 171.
Later, he was self employed, specializing in home remodeling.

Sonny is survived by two sons, AJ (Anthony John) and Quinn Bruno, both of Orlando, Fla.; a daughter, Sunni Marie Bruno of Miami; three sisters, Jackie A. (Paul) Democko and Paula M. Shields, both of Boardman, Ohio and Joanne L. (Ron) George of Canfield, Ohio.

Friends may call Monday, April 18, 2011, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Thompson Funeral Home in Boardman.

In lieu of flowers, the Bruno family requests that donations be made to the Joanne Bruno George kidney fund.

Seeking information on parents of Roseanna BRUNO. She was born between 1883 and 1891 in Michigan or Canada and lived in Hartford, Connecticut in 1900. Roseanna married Octave LEMIRE between 1900 and 1911 possibly in Connecticut. In 1920 and 1930, the family was living in Michigan. Roseanna died in Mount Clemens, Michigan in 1936.

Roseanna has 2 known sisters, Victoria BRUNO who married Joseph LEMIRE and Emma BRUNO who married ? LARACHELLE.

I am looking for relations of a friend of mine! She is the grandaughter of Rosa Bruno born 1893 Bristol. Ross's father was Giuseppe (Joseph) Mario Bruno born Salerno, Itley (French subject). My great grandfather's name was Frank Bruno, his wife was Conchetta Cribari. They lived in Williamsport, PA. Their daughter, Mary, married my grandfather, Tomaso Cellitti. They lived in Northumberland, PA. Ring any bells? I live in CA now, but my brother and I are trying to assemble our family tree. Let me know if any of this sounds familiar. Thanks.

Hi, Rosa was a sister of my grandfather guiseppe mario gateano bruno (joseph)born in nottm in 1899.my dad was also called joseph he died in 1988. my dads grandparents were guiseppe and bessie, he was a muscian in the band at the nottm theatre royal.as far as i no Agostino was given a title of papal duke, by the catholic church in italy. can you find out when guiseppe and bessie bruno married as i cannot find it anywhere. any info on the family would help as iam new to this, and i find trying to trace back through itilian records difficult. look forward to hearing from you...pauline.

I have been reading your message board about Guiseppe (Joseph) Mario Bruno. He is the great grandad of a friend of mine. Her grandmother was Rosa Bruno born 1893 Bristol. I have a possible name for Guiseppe's parents as Agostino Paple Duke Bruno and Maria Giuseppa Casiello (she was born Biccari,Foggia, Italy in 1826. I got this info from Family Search. I would love to let her have a copy of the photo you have if you could let me have a copy.

I am looking for anyone researching the family tree of Alexander Bruno born abt 1884 Town of Odalengo Piccolo, Province of Allessandria, Region of Piemonte, Italy. He lived in Westmoreland Co & Clearfield Co, PA. He was married to Rachael. He had three children: Lewis b abt 1915, Caesar b abt 1916 & Clair b abt 1918. They were born in PA. There may have been more children after the 1920 census. He was the brother of my Grandfather Secondo (Sam), Benjamin & Cesira Bruno. Any information on this line would be much appreciated. Matthew is pictured in the yearbook of the 422nd Technical School Squadron at Amarillo Army Air Field in Amarillo, Texas. The 422nd produced mechanics and technicians to maintain the Flying Fortresses. I'm not kin but thought this might help someone researching family.
