You have mentioned that your Buller line is from Maytown, PA. My 4th Great Grandfather and mother were John Buller, 1726-5/21/1813 and Hannah Harlan, 1730-1817. Are you related to that line of Bullers? If so, do you have any information on who John's parents were? I have come to a dead end and could use any help you may have about this line of Bullers.

My great grandfather, Henry Buller, was born Nov. 22, 1832 in either Westchester or Chambersburg (according to his note in his pension records), although it also could have been Chester Co. PA. He moved to Ohio at age 2 and then to Illinois. Do you have any record of a birth in 1832?

I thought you'd be interested since she's in your lineage. Born:22 Aug 1929 Died:22 May 2011. I'm from the lineage of Thomas, Sr. and his first wife, Emelie Brignac. I was born and raised in Elton so, am very familiar with most of your lineage. In fact, I never realized we were only half kin until I was grown. We mixed just as with the other cousins.

I have already given the picture as a gift to my friend but will check with her about a number. I do not recall seeing one as I had to touch up the frame but will check to make sure. I took this picture before I gave it to her. There is also another one I was made aware of during my search. I could give you the name of the woman in Winnipeg who owns it but it should be sent to you privately so please email me at CampInCanada@hotmail.com. You may already be aware of it.

I've done the check and the number is 248. It was on the back of it twice but there was no name. Hope this information is helpful and thank you once again.

Is it possible to get a photo or a scan of the picture so we can see if we remember it? She usually named and numbered them on the back. If you have that information we would find that interesting as well. It seems that you found it exciting to get answers to your questions, I found it exciting to hear about, and the existence of, one of her early works. I'm glad we connected.

Tina Buller was my mother. She passed away a few years ago. Mom was born in Siberia, immigrated to Winnipeg, Manitoba after the war, and raised four boys. Her maiden name was Hamm. Here is a copy of a bio she made in 1980 for display at her art shows.

I am looking for biographical information on a Mennonite artist who lived in Winnipeg. Her name was Tina Buller. I do not know if that was her married name or if she was single. I have a picture she painted which I am giving to a friend but have no information on the artist other than a photo from the Mennonite Historian from September 1989, page 6.

I have a Robert Buller born October 4th 1818 married to a Flora StClair that have 2 Sons a Henry Buller and a Neil Alexander Buller in my records which seem to match up to your names I don't have dates of births for the sons but the timeline is right.

H Carol, nothing like sitting on the computer for a few hours!! I would try the local Genealogical Socs for researchers. I am sure you would get the names on line if you just typed in Genealogy Norwich. Alternatively look into the Eglish Family Tree Magazine which will list people who do reasearches for Money!! Try Non conformist records for Norfolk or try Dr Williams Library in London where a lot of those records are kept. Yes there are a lot of variations, the most common one is Bullen. If you get the info from the cemsus the odds are the copying can be the problem, the original may be better if you can get it. If it has an alias then it could be an adoption, a name change or an illigitimate child. I think there are other things but that is the most likely. The IGI is a very flawed document and needs to be used with great caution!

Thanks for responding so quickly. I have had quite a time tracing this line of my family due to the fact that their name seems to change with every census. We have Ballin, Bullen, Buller and even Page (alias Bullen)!! Heaven only knows what that was supposed to be about.
My great grandfather was born William Buller but his 4 daughters are all registered as Bullen.
How do I look up the non conformist information? I've tried the IGI and haven't come up with anything. Ideally, I would like to make contact with someone who lives in Norfolk who could check the parish registers for me in exchange for me checking details out in the West Sussex registers for them.

Hi Marine Mum, So sorry to disappoint you but my Bullers definitely come from Halesworth in NE Suffolk from about 1670, that is the earliest I have. Although some of the family at that time were in Norwich but as far as I have been able to find out women only so no name carry down. It is a fairly common name in the area of East Anglia. Have you done the Non-conformists? very strong in that part of England.

Hope you still sign on and read your messages as it is a while since you posted about the Bullers.
My Bullers are from the Norwich area of Norfolk but I have noticed that the borders must have changed at some point and some are listed as Norfolk/Suffolk.
I only go back as far as John 1796 and Hannah 1806 Buller.
They had 5 sons James 1826, William 1831, Benjamin 1834, Thomas 1837 and Stephen 1839 plus a daughter Elizabeth 1843 who were all born in Calthorpe, Norfolk.
John and Hannah were my ggg grandparents and I am descended through their son Benjamin. Do any of those names and dates mean anything to you - if so, I would love to hear from you.

my grandparents were henry and martha buller.their children were rodger, ellen,jim,ida,henrietta,sarah,dora and more that i cant remember.i know my grandfather came to canada first and worked on his brothers farm in or around ridgetown.a few years later my grandmother came with the older children,my mother was dora and she was born in ridgetown.she married william wilcox and had six children.bill, john, richard, constance,the late kathleen, and me laurie.

My great-grandmother was Julia Buller. She had a brother named Peter and 2 sisters named Mathilde and Minnie (Wilhemine). Julia Buller had several children named Henry (my grandfather), Otilga (Olga) and Lydia (Lillian). She also is said to have had several other children who may/may not have immigrated to the US. The names I have are Edward (I believe went to Canada), Emilie, Rudolph?, Albert and maybe a couple more as well. Julia Buller is said to have been a wife to Christian Mielke. I am just beginning my search. Does anyone have any information? Does any of this sound familiar to anyone? Thank you.

My grandfather, Henry Buller, had a sister named Olga, Lydia, and had several siblings who stayed in Russia. Their mother, Julia Buller, spoke German and she had a brother named Peter and 2 sisters named Mathilde and Minnie (Wilhemine). Any connections? I was told my great-grandmother Julia went to Canada to visit her long lost son Edward sometime in the 1950's.

We may be related. My mother's family came through Ellis Island from Hamburg, and were from Russia Poland. My mother's father was a Henry Buller and came over as an infant in about 1913. If you think we may be related, please contact me. Thank you.

I don't know if we're related, but my grandfather was Henry Buller who had family ties to Detroit, Michigan. He was originally from Russia Poland and came here as an infant. I know he had at least one brother who immigrated to Canada.

I am descended from the father of Henry Clarence Ellerman (Sir Abraham). I have contact with Miguel Ellerman who says the following (which suggests that Emma Griffin Buller died in Argentina, not in Sussex).
"Yes, sure . Henry Clarence is our line .
At beginning 1869 Henry, Emma and children emigrated to South America, to Rio de la Plata, in Argentina .Henry thought settled down in a City on the river side, next to the sea : Rio de la Plata and Antlantic Ocean . Like his merchants ancestors .
Henry Clarence bought a hotel called " Hotel de Londres" to the Englishman Charles Forrest in GUALEGUAYCHU . ( to 200 Km from Buenos Aires ) Clarence Henry was 5 .He was born on 1864 .
According to the oral family tradition and a my grand father s Notes Book, Henrys life went so : Suddenly tragedy was present .There was a yellow fever epidemic and Emma and children died. Henry Clarence survived . He went on with his hotel .

Henry didnot want come back to England or Antwerpen or Australia .

Henry sold Hotel de Londres and moved with his new family to rural area of ALTAMIRANO (to 100 km from Gualeguaychú )
In Altamirano, Henry remained breeding sheep until 1881 . But aged and sick he moved to ROSARIO DEL TALA looking for medical s help . In Rosario del Tala Henry founded peace and quiet . He died here on 15 october 1891, not on 25 oct 1891 like I told you before .
My father, Luis Emilio, my mother Alina Coisson, my brother Luis Alberto and myself were born in Rosario del Tala .Many Ellermans were born in this little town . ( 5000 peoples ) He sent me a photo of Henry Clarence Ellerman.

I believe these are our relatives. I do not have all of the information in front of me, but am pretty sure Hannah Buller was somehow connected. I believe George Buller was honorably discharged from the Union Army. I think the story was that his broeht, not sure which was a doctor and cetified him for discharge.

West Chester, PA and Swarthmore, PA have all of the records. I have quite a bit from my great aunt, Laura Buller.

I believe Eschelman may have been the maiden name. Willing to eachange information.

from what i have been told (no documentation here just family storries) and we all know that isnt alwasys the most reliable. Yes. Any of the bullers in this area prior to some migration around 1900 are related. I see you live in Fla do you ever get up this way? I know there are several Bullers in the Hopewell UMC (in east brandywine) dating back to 1770s

TIFTON, GA.-Callie Strickland Buller, 94, of Tifton Ga., died Sunday, Sept. 7, 2008, at her home.
Born in Kingsley Lake, she was the daughter of Alonzo and Mary Elizabeth Austin Strickland. She moved to Tifton from High Springs a year ago. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law Patricia Moser and Mile Pruitt of Tifton; a son and daughter-in-law Bob and Sharon Hoag of Warner Robings, Ga.; three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation for friends will be Wednesday, Sept. 10 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, in Kingsley Lake Cemetery with Ronnie Norman officiating.
Arrangements are under the care of Jones-Gallagher Funeral Home of Starke.

Note: I am of no relation but my sympathies go out to those of you who are. This is here as a lasting memorial for Mrs. Buller.

Do you know the parents of this Henry Buller? My Buller family was in Birmingham and London until the early 1900s.

The five children all emigrated to Canada between 1905 and 1908.

Just found your search,I have a photo of a Mr&Mrs HENRY BULLER, PALMER STREET RIDGETOWN ,ONT,CANADA,taken I think very early 1900s. He is in Army uniform with a crown and three stripes on the right arm.
The photo was sent with Christmas greetings to Mrs PAUL ATKINSON ( nee CHRISTANTA BULLER)who I think at the time would be living in the Barrowford area near Burnley. Hope this can be of assistance.
