Sarah Bullimore was married to my grandfather,Wm Neden. Their eldest child,my mother,Sarah Abigail(Baldwin after her marriage)was born in North Vancouver, B.C. on July 1,1911.Family then moved to Coombs, B,C. Other children were John,James,Frank,Joseph,Isaac,Clarence,Selena. John and Clarence both died in drowning accidents. My mother remembered her Uncle John fondly. He was single and lived a few miles away from her family. Mom and her oldest brothers would walk down road to visit him. He suddenly disappeared, never to be heard from or seen again. Mom said her mother was deeply saddened over this. My mother was never sure, but thought my grandmother may have had siblings somewhere in England, but never heard from them. It sounded like my grandmother may have been raised in an orphanage or convent. Not sure of this.

Hi fellow researchers,

I am still looking for relatives of my great grandmother "Susan" or "Sussanah" Bullimore. Susan was born sometime in the 1850's and she died in St Pancras on the 7th of December 1915. Susan was found dead at what I assume was her place of employment at 33 St Geoorge's Square, St Pancras. Her death certificate states that she was the widow of Benjamin Bullimore who was a theatrical blacksmith who resided at 38 Tynemouth St Fulham, London. Susan had 2 children - Elizabeth Charlotte Bullimore born in 1876 in Scotland (illegitimate) and Henry Albert Bullimore (my grandfather and also illegitimate) - born in Mead Row in Lambeth London in 1879.

Any information much appreciated and I can share what I have.

Thank you

Judith Bullimore

Hello:
I wonder if you might be able to assist me in locating some info. In the 1881 UK census (while searching for my family)
I found William and Mary Bullimore with a Johnson Pell nephew. Johnson Pell is also my line.
Ann Pell and Jospeh Pell are his parents. Ann Pell nee Sturgis is my line.
My question is this: How are the Bullimore's and Pell's related?
Or could the Bullimore's be related to my Sturgis line?
The 1881 UK census was taken in Hacconby, Lincolnshire, UK.
Where most of my family comes from.
Related families: Sturgis/Sturges/Sturgess, Pell, Martin,
Tinsley and more.
Any and all assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you kindly.
Martha in CA
PS my addy is marthae101@sbcglobal.net
Hello: While researching my Sturgis/Sturges/Sturgess line in the UK, we have uncovered in the 1881 UK census the family name of Bullimore.
It states:
Wm & Mary Bullimore
Johnson Pell, nephew.
Johnson Pell is the son of one of my GrGrGrAunts (the Sturgis line).
I am trying to figure out here is the Bullimore's related to the Sturgis line or to the Pell line?
It was very interesting to read that in several house next to them is alot of my family also.
Bullimore family

Hello fellow researchers. I have posted this information in a previous email but now I have some further info so I am trying one last time in the hope that I can break down my very solid brick wall. I apologise in advance for this long winded posting but I want to include all the information I have gathered in the hope that someone can make a connection or make some suggestions as to where I can go from here.

I am looking for information regarding William Henry Bullimore. William was born in the 1800's and he had 2 children - details as follows
ELIZABETH CHARLOTTE BULLIMORE - born on Dec 14th 1876 at the Royal Maternity Hospital, 18 St John St, Edinburgh, Scotland. The district was Canongate and the County was Midlothian. Elizabeth's birth is recorded as illegitimate and her mother is documented as "Susan Bullimore". Susan was working as a housemaid at 9 Catherine St at the time of her daughter's birth.

On reflection I am almost sure that "Bullimore" was not Susan's real surname but was the surname of her daughter's father and thus the surname she gave to her daughter. Susan also had a son named HENRY ALBERT BULLIMORE (my grandfather) born on June 25th 1879 at 2 Mead Row, Kennington Road, Lambeth. His birth is also listed as illegitimate and his mother is again recorded as Susan Bullimore. A Sarah Saunders is recorded as being present at the birth of the child.

In the 1881 English census
both Henry and Elizabeth are recorded as being boarders in the Saunders household at Harriss Place Camberwell. There is no sign of their mother Susan. The head of this household is Thomas Saunders and his wife is Sarah Saunders.

In the same census I came across a family named Malcolm living at No 7 Gt Stanhope St, London, Middlesex. The Malcolm family have 17 servants including William Bullimore - age 30 from Beton, Lincoln. William's ocupation is listed as Coachman Domestic Servant. Then there is an Elizabeth Saunders aged 64 (domestic servant) and a Charles Saunders aged 63 (coachman, servant). Recorded as a visitor in this household is Emily Saunders - aged 15. Emily Saunders is also recorded in the 1881 Saunders census data where the children are boarding so I am concluding that she has been recorded.
twice.

I think that Charles and Elizabeth Saunders are the parents of Thomas Saunders and Emily is their grandchild who has been staying with them on census night. I am hoping that the William Bullimore recorded in this census is the children's father and that he is quite possibly a relative of the Saunders family. This seems more than likely given that Sarah Saunders was present at the birth of Henry Albert. I have been unable to find any links so far between the Saunders and Bullimore families.

The children Henry and Elizabeth and their mother Susan disappear from any further census data. The next lead I have is in 1905 when Henry Albert Bullimore marries Emma Bransgrove. Henry's father is recorded as William Bullimore (deceased) and his occupation is listed as waiter.

There are a few William Bullimores born in Beton Lincolnshire but not one matches even closely with regards to age etc. They are either too old or far too young to have been the parents of these children born in the 1870's. Although I have tracked my grandfather's movements from 1905 I have never been able to find any information about Elizabeth Bullimore. I am wondering whether she died as a child from one of the many diseases that were fatal to young children in those times

Any suggestions as to where I can go from here would be most gratefully received. As previously mentioned I have given up in the search for the children's mother in the belief that Bullimore was not her real surname. I guess there is a possibility that she also died or perhaps abandoned the children which is why I cannot find any trace of them since the 1881 census data.
Thanking you all for your time.
Judith Bullimore

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Stay up-to-date with your friends through the Windows LiveT Spaces friends list.

Hi fellow researchers. I hope someone can help me. I am looking for my great aunt Elizabeth Charlotte Bullimore.

Elizabeth was born on the 14th December 1876 in Scotland in the county of Midlothian (District of Canongate) in the Burgh of Edinburgh.

Elizabeth's birth certificate stated that she was illegitimate, her mother was listed as Susan Bullimore. The certificate also stated that Susan Bullimore was a housemaid and her address is given as 9 Catherine Street. .

The birth took place at The Royal Maternity Hospital 18 St John St Edinburgh (this address may not be exact, the writing on the certificate is difficult to understand). The only other information I have about Elizabeth is from the 1881 english census when she was boarding with her brother Henry in the Saunders household in Surrey England

Any information much appreciated and I will gladly share what I have
Judith Bullimore

Hi fellow researchers,
I am trying to trace any members of my father's brothers family. My father was George Bullimore and he migrated to Australia with his wife Jean and two sons in 1959. I am George's youngest daughter (Judith) and I was born in Australia in1963. My father had an older sister named Violet and an older brother named Henry Albert who I believe was known as Jack.
Jack Bullimore was married to Annie and they had six children, Stanley, David, Joan, Ruth, Irene and Vera. When I visited the UK in 1978 they were all married and had children of their own. Most were living in the London area.
Any information much appreciated and I will gladly share what I have.
Judith Bullimore

Susan Bullimore (great grandmother)

I am looking for any information re my great grandmother Susan Bullimore. Susan had two illegimate children. The first child (Elizabeth Bullimore) was born in 1877 in Scotland. The second child (Henry Albert Bullimore) was born in 1879 in Lambeth London. Henry Albert Bullimore was my grandfather and he married Emma Dearman in 1905. I think that Susan Bullimore originally came from England. Her two children were boarding with a family named Saunders in the 1881 census, but I have been unable to find any records of Susan's whereabouts after this time. Any info
would be much appreciated. Thankyou

Many thanks for a speedy reply! It has taken me about 20 mins to find the birth of Murdoch and 10 months to find his death! I'm afraid I have limited information other than that already stated. What is certain is:
Murdoch died aged 68;
I have no first name for 'D.Bullimore' [taken from death entry];
Her age is not declared on the cert.
'D.Bullimore' was present at the death, at the address stated.
Perhaps some other details about Murdoch can reveal a Bullimore connection.
Murdoch Black married Edith Ellen wright, in Sproxton on 30th April 1901. I think Edith came from around that area. Perhaps she had a relation who married a Bullimore? That would explain 'D.Bullimore' being neice to my Murdoch.
Murdoch was a chemical worker when he married, he took the family north back to Scotland and Edith died in Glasgow in 1932. As far as I can see, Murdoch dissapeared back down to the Staffordshire area at some point, passing away in 1940. This elusive ancestor has become the focal point of my research, very little is known about him. Any help appreciated.
P.S. I noticed a Doris Charlotte Bullimore was born in Grantham towards the end of 1909, could this be my D. Bullimore?

Would be pleased
if someone could help find his location, perhaps he went
to the Canada,
USA or Australia, he was well educated and from his legacy, he would
have cash to start him off in life
Any help with his whereabouts would be a great help to our research
Thank you e.w.f.Bullimore
at e.w.bullimore@ntlworld.com

Hi Sally,
I just stumbled across your message on the web. My great grandfather was Joseph Bullimore and his mother was Fanny Bullimore. Joseph married Jessie Lacey in 1877 in Wolverhampton and they had 2 children in England before emigrating to Australia. Jesse was born in Birmingham(1878) and Alice Elinda was born in Grantham (1881). At the time of the 1881 census Fanny was living with Joseph,Jessie and Jesse in wolverhampton. I am currently waiting for Joseph's death certificate for confirmation but I understand Fanny's maiden name was Brown.Joseph's father was John Henry also known as just Henry.Maybe, there is a link between our families.I look forward to hearing from you.Colleen.
