Catherine Bullock

I'm searching for a Catherine Bullock and Joseph Williams. Catherine Bullock, born in Virginia between 1820 and 1830. She married or not married my 2nd great grandfather, Joseph Williams. Joseph Williams was born in Virginia somewhere around 1825 and 1835. They lived in Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania, Virginia around 1850/1860. They had a son, my great grandfather, Charles E. Williams about 1855. I'm told that Catherine died and Joseph and his son Charles moved to District of Columbia.

The only census record I can find on them is the 1860 census. In the household was Jos Williams-35, Catherine Bullock-40, Charles Bullock-6 and a James Proctor-23.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I'm trying to find out more about the Bullock ancestors. My father was Earl J. Bullock, Sr. I'm Earl James Bullock, Jr. , my grandfather was James Bullock, and my great grandfather was Ambrosh Bullock. I was told they were from the Virginia area and migrated to south Texas in Victoria. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a great grand uncle George Daniel Bullock b 1859
He moved from West Williams township in Ontario to somewhere in the US, possibly Michigan. I still need to investigate that line myself. His father John was born in Norfolk Eng. 1821 and moved to Canada around 1840.

There were 2 other brother's of George who also moved to the US Lorenzo who moved to Michigan and Henry, not sure where he settled.

Anyway let me know if this is of any help..

I just started with ancestry..

A Henry Bullock born in 1851 in Ontario Canada (from 1861 census) was my great grand uncle (brother of my great grandfather). I know he emigrated from Canada to the US. I believe he married Ellena Hollenbeck in 1876 before they went to the US

Let me know if this might be the right Henry..

Shan Bullock was my great Grand father on my fathers side and passed away in the home my late father was born in.

Only two Bullocks (direct decendants) reside in Australia formerly Rhodesia. I was told that some Bullocks had moved to South America's and one in particular the USA who as I understand worked in the petroleum industry during the 60's and 70's.

My maternal great grandmother was a Bullock. It has been spelled Bulloch and Bulluck as well. We have relatives in the Rocky Mount area but have lost touch. We are intertwined with the Powells and Pope in that area as well. Original from the Swift Creek area finally settling in Halifax, NC.

Thank you for your response to my BULLOCK family line. The mention of the surname CHAMP is indeed CHAMP, sometimes CHAMPE of French derivitive. Grandfather was Curtis BULLOCK m. CHAMP in IN. I believe the BULLOCK line came from New England, though. CHAMP(E) was from Virginia area, to W. VA and on to IN.

I stumbled onto a Census record for my Great Uncle living in 1930 Blackwell, Kay, Oklahoma that shows a Louis C Bullock married to Sophia with children Theodore, Jennette and Charles. Have done all the normal search things and keep coming up dry.
Louis b. 1881 in New York. Sophia b. ?. Theodore b. 1912 Connecticut, Jennette b.1914 New Jersey, Charles b.1916 Kansas.

Does anyone have any idea where Greenberry Bullock came from? Back then some Cherokees called themselves "Black Irish" or "Black Dutch". Bull could have taken a white mans last name. You raise a question for me. I had John marrying Susannah about 1710, but did not have any documentation. If my date for Eleanor's birth (c.1702) is correct, then my assumption that John had an earlier wife was a bad assumption (as many are, aren't they?)
Have you found evidence of John/Susannah's wedding date? Do I have a good date for Eleanor's birth?

You say you have info on the Bullock line all the way back to Richard Bullock in Yorkshire, England circa 1219! How cool is that!

I'm stuck at John Bullock=Susannah Wright. Who are John's forebears? [Some people (erroneously) say John's parents are Richard Bullock & Elizabeth Billington the granddaughter of John Billington on the Mayflower (who subsequently was hung for murder, a first for Plymouth Colony and European North America). But it's iron-clad attested that her son John married once only, to a Barnes.]

I'm a descendant of Silence Platt, greatgranddaughter of John Bullock and Susannah Wright by way of their daughter Eleanor.

Can't wait to hear more!

I am looking for information on Albert Bullock (Oct 1881-Mar 1953) who married (in 1906 Canada) Lousia Brantigan (Jan 1887-?). Both were born in England and moved to Canada. They had three children, Murray, Violet and Edward. Edward lived in Ohio and married Edna Brown.

This is what I know for certain from our family history:

Joel Bullock was born in NY (the son of Asa Bullock and Sarah Blanchard) and married Mary Ann Chope (b England); their children were Sara Ann, Asa L., William U., and Emma E. Bullock. I'm the descendant of Joel's sister, Sarah Elizabeth Bullock and Joel's brother, Nathan B. Bullock.

I am researching some Bullocks that were in Freeborn Co. and later Otter Tail Co. Minnesota. Given their proximity, I know they are all related but I can't figure out how, for sure, and thought I would see if anyone can help. Here is what I have:
The chart is the Oakland, Freeborn Co., Minnesota 1860 census. On 2 adjacent pages there is: (listing head of house only)

NAME AGE - 1860 BORN
Joel Bullock 32 NY
Asa Jr 44 NY
Samuel E 27 NY
Nathan B 39 Mass
Tyler 50 VT
Cyrus 33 NY

Tyler, Nathan and Cyrus in same county (Lake) in Illinois in 1850, Tyler and Nathan in same house (Warren), also in house Lorenzo age 48, could be brother to Tyler and father to Nathan? Cyrus is in different town (Newport) but same county. Asa Sr age 54 in same county, a 3rd town (Avon) with Joel in household. Also in this house is an 18 year old Lemuel. Could Samuel E and Lemuel be same person?

Obviously they would have to be related, but how, for sure?

This is my family. I am looking for roots further back than what you've posted. The only change to your records I would suggest is that William and Susan are divorced (these are my parents) and William remarried Arlene Merion.
