yes, good point about the rounding. I hope the certificate I have ordered will reveal something helpful - but will be several weeks' wait. thanks for your tree invitation - interesting to see Bunners that far back. We are certainly in the same neck of the woods.

Hi again,
In the 1841 census, the ages of adults were rounded up or down to the nearest 5 years, so John being recorded as aged 45 could just as easily have been 43. (I don't know if you've found him in any other censuses to corroborate.) Thanks for offering tree invitation, I will do the same.

Dear Bunner descendant, my Samuel's father is indeed a John (from 1841 Census as you point out, and Samuel's marriage cert) but (as usual) there is more than one John. I think my John's parents are more likely to be Joseph and Hannah (going by John's Census birth date of 1796 and a record of baptism in 1796). Further investigation required. I will invite you to my tree. I have ordered a death cert for what I hope is the right John Bunner.

Hi,
I just had a quick look on ancestry - is Samuel on 1841 census with father John? If so, the only John Bunner I found born in Worthen who would be the right age for Samuel's father was baptised in 1798 to parents David and Ann. Going back a generation, David Bunnar was baptised in Worthen in 1761 to parents John and Jane (my 7x Great Grandparents)
Do you think I've followed the right line?

Montana Bunner Smith

I am looking for information on Montana Bunner born 1870 in W.V. to Hiram and Mary Bunner. She married Francis Smith and had three children, Lillie, Mary and Amos. In 1910 she is living in Vona, Co. with her nephew Frank Bunner son of Valentine and Sarah Bunner. In 1911 Montana was the first person to be buried in the Vona cemetery. I am working on a book for the Vona cemetery and was wondering if any one knew why she left her family and when and how she came to Vona.

I believe they may have been John Bunner (1780-1861 son of Reuben Bunner and Nancy Ann Prickett) and Jane Long (1782/3-1813 daughter of William Young and Mary Evans), but I don't have confirmation.

I have a list of names of their children, as follows: First marriage: Daughter (unkown) 1805: Second Marriage: Robert,1810: Randolph,1820: Rachel and George Washington(twins)1822: Elizabeth and Archibald (twins) 1825: Ferrell D. 1834:? Amos, 1838 ? (Quite a difference in their birth years.) I can be contacted at (w.bunner@yahoo.com) if anyone has information on James R. Bunner. They had 4 children.
#3 John Lea m. 27 Feb 1914."

Serilda is my great grandmother, but this is VERY confusing to me. According to the 1880 Census, John P Shipman lived with the Eddings and was listed as "Son-in-law." But none of the children are listed as his spouse.

Then I have that Serilda married Henry Bunner in 1894 and John Shipman in 1897.

My Grandmother was Esther Sarah Bunner born 1900. How could she be a Bunner if she was born after she married Shipman?!

Were these people polygamists?!

Very few of the children's birth years match up to the correct father!

I dont know where Ruben Bunner is buried, but Nancy is buried in Straight Creek baptist church cemetery in Arnheim Brown county ohio. I posted pics on find a grave. Susannah Bunner married my fourth great grandfather, but I descend from her husbands first wife Nancy. You will also find Susannah's sons Reuben and William Hannahs on find a grave buried out where Susannah died in Lewis county Missouri. I think Nancy Pricketts husband Reuben, your Reuben, is buried in Indiana. Alot of second generation pricketts are buried in Hillman ridge and third generation are in Linwood.

Hello, I am also a decendant of Caspar and Christianna Bunner. Casper>Rueben T.>Josiah>Josiah Erwin>Mary(Maime)>married to Luther Alexander Gothwell McGowan>Earl Venton McGowan>Betty McGowan Bradley>to me Paula Bradley.
This line starting with Josiah Erwin lived(lives) in Kansas, coming from Clermont Co., Ohio and the Mt. Pisgah area of Clermont Co., Ohio. One of Mary Bunner McGowan's grandson's compiled a Bunner Book titled "Genealogy Descendants of CASPER (BONER)BUNNER AND MARY CHRISTINA BROWN.
It was compiled and Edited by GALE J. BUNNER, and printed for the Bunner family by GOODWAY GRAPHICS OF MASSACHUSETTS INC. BURLINGON, MASS. 01803. COPYRIGHT 1985. I DON'T KNOW IF THEY STILL HAVE ANY OF THESE BOOKS. IT WOULD BE WORTH THE EFFORT TO RESEARCH THE COMPANY TO SEE. I HAVE A COPY, THAT I RECEIVED FROM GALE J. BUNNER BACK WHEN HE HAD IT PRINTED IN 1985. YOU MIGHT ALSO BE ABLE TO FIND IN ON ANCESTRY.COM IF YOU HAVE ACCESS TO THE MEDIA, MAGAZINE, BOOK SECTION THROUGH YOUR MEMBERSHIP. I'M NOT SURE IF IT IS ON ANCESTRY.COM, AS I HAVEN'T NEEDED TO LOOK SINCE I HAVE A COPY.
My cousin inherited all of Gale's research when he passed a few years back. I still need to get with my cousin to see the added research Gale accumulated after he compiled his book.
Please feel free to contact me, as I'm willing to share what I know, and would love to add any information from other descendant of Casper and Christianna.
My family tree is on Ancestry.com under Bradley Family 2-with an April 2008 date behind it. One caveat, I will be posting a new tree shortly, that corrects numerous mistakes--however none of the mistakes are with the Bunner line.
Paula Bradley
stillwellangel@cox.net

I'm new to the research, but better late than never. I ascended almost the same path as yourself. Instead of Luther Randolph I ascended from Luthers brother Claude Albert to Claude Richard Sr. to Claude Richard Jr. to myself. I met Alan about 12 years ago in March of 1995 on a dinner cruise down the Potomac River. We sat a table apart and the waiter introduced us. I thought it strange at the time that he knew my entire family line and personal info about my family, but lately found out how valuable a resource he was. It's been quite a few years and he still hasn't published his book I assume. I was able to bring him up to date and provide him with more detailed information from Claude Richard Sr. on down to me and my immediate family.

Regarding Louella Murdock Bunner, I have found information on her family .
