• "Mrs. Sarah Burgett's seventy-seventh (77) birthday was celebrated on Wednesday very delightfully by her daughter, Mrs. P.J.(Peter J.) Hamilton, who invited some of her firlhood friends to have lunch with her. ... "The guests invited for noon brought their sewing with them, and shortly after one o'clock were invited into the dining room, where the table with covers laid for nine was lovely in a color tone of green and yellow. ...

"The place cards, the artistic work of Mrs. Carlotta Hamilton, were unique in design being the half burnt taper held in an old-time candlestick done in the green and yellow colors."

We have been looking for any info my ggrandfather Harvey Henry Burgett. All we know is he was born in Marshall Co. Alabama in 1902 and had 2 children. He was in the Army at Fort Lewis, Washington. I am looking for any information on Henry Burgett born about 1815 in North Carolina. He married Nancy Faulkinberry (also born about 1818 in North Carolina) about 1840. I found he and Nancy in the 1850 census in GA and the 1870 census in TN. I found Nancy in the 1880 census living with her daughter Margaret Price, also in TN.

Any information on Henry's death date or his parents and Nancy's parents would be greatly appreciated

He married Lucy Barnes in 1885. They had several children: Maude Mae born Seot 11, 1886, Monte Ira, Francis, James, John Phillip.

Appears in the Terrell Times-Star, Terrell, Kaufman County, Texas, 4 April 1891...

Mrs. Burgett with another lady and Mr. Myers of Denison, were here Wednesday and the body of N. Burgett who was an inmate of the asylum, but who died February 2nd and buried in the asylum cemetery was taken up and shipped to Denison. The lady has has been complaining a good deal to the correspondent of the Ft. Worth Gazette and Dallas News at Denison, and they have blowed about things which have existed in imagination only. Mr. Burgett died while Dr. Wallace was superintendent. There is nothing to show that there was the slightest neglect on his part, of any duty,which he owed the relatives of the unfortunate man, or to the state as an officer.

I'm a decendent of Valentine ( Fetty ) Burgett from that area. I can't get to my paperwork right now due to trying to fix a crashed computer of mine. You shou;d post your message on the Hampshire Co., West Virginia message board.

A horse which Miss Ethel Burgett teacher of the Komalty school, near Lawton, was riding, fell with her. She was crushed severely and her recovery is doubtful. The horse became unmanageable, reared up and fell back upon her.

I believe that I am in that same line. My father was Raymond Burgett Wells; his father was John Wesley Wells and his mother was Maggie May Burgett. I can go back further on the Wells side. Maggie's father was Francis Burgett; I haven't been able to get back before him.
I am only on a 14 day trial membership in ancestry.com, so if you can answer before Feb 26, that would be good.

In my earlier research of deaths in Ohio in 1909-1928 the only Burgett I found of interest was Ida Margaret Burgett who died in Hardin County on 6 Sep 1911. My Mahala was born about 1844 in Salem, Harrison County, OH. I found Burgetts in Hanock County, WV, in the 1870 and 1880 census and in 1900 in Steubenville, Jefferson County, OH, in the census and in city diirectories Will need to do further checking.

Does anyone have information on the family of John Burgett and Catherine Zumwalt? They were in Callaway County, MO. I find a John Burgett, Sr. and John Burgett, Jr. listed in the 1823 tax roll for Callaway County, MO. I am having some trouble distinguishing between John Burkett who married Catherine McClure and John Burgett/Burkett who married Catherine Zumwalt.

Do you have any information on James Burgett, also born in PA about 1813, and listed on the 1860 Vigo County Census?
In his household there is Eliz,, age 43; 5 Burgan children ranging in age from 16 to 3 years old, and a James Cochran , age 31, gunsmith, from PA.
I'd like to know what happened to this family.
