Lazu family.

My grandmother had 7 sons. She was Rodriguez.
but my Grandfather is Rafael Lazu.

and all of the family is Yabucoa.
My uncles are:
- Papo Lazu
- Frank Lazu
- Pedrito Lazu
- Americo [aka Tio Titi] Lazu
- Hector Lazu
- Angel Lazu
- Victor Lazu [My father]

From what I've learned in my Research of the family name

Lazu is a Hungarian Word Meaning "Fever"
but Romania has I think 3 City's names Lazu

so our ancestor's most likely came from one of does.
I think more likely Romania. since most names originate from City's.

but aside from that, its like our family has never been recorded. its almost like we don't exist so researching and searching is gonna take a long time.

we don't even have a Recorded Family crest :/

My late husband's mother was Louisa Burgos, born in Canada, and was the daughter of Frank Burgos born in Spain. It looks as if Simona Solanas was her mother. Based on my research here, she was born 10-7-06 in Canada and died 3/1975 in the Bronx. Both my husband's parents were deceased before we met and married but based on what family history he related, this seems to be a match. He used to tell me about his maternal grandfather, the Waldorf Astoria, and the family having owned property in Atlantic City. I'm still getting familiar with navigating myself around here, so please respond if you'd like to pursue this.

This post about carne bruja is very interesting. I am one of the many granddaughters of Julia Burgos and Eladio Vega. Great granddaughter of Telefa Santiago and Carmen Vega. All of which are mentioned in Burgos Bloodhound. My father (Jose Elias Vega)always told me stories about his grandfather Carmen Vega. He was a butcher and provided meat for all in the area. My father mentioned that he would blow a horn loud enough for the valley to hear that the meat was ready for sale. That horn was also used to warn people that the river was cresting among other things. My father's cousin Julio Vega became a butcher and lived in Manati and his son Johnny Vega became a butcher as well. If you can make a connection please post. I have been looking for Carmen Burgos the author of the original post without any luck.

Jose C. Burgos, 82, of a Carson City, died Aug. 31, 2009. He was born Sept. 26, 1926, in Mexico to Rutilo Burgos. He was preceded in life by his wife Dora (Moreno) Burgos.

Based on my grandfather testimony, I can trace my Burgos ancestors back to a Julio Burgos (b. circa 1855) and wife Louisa Apparicio. They had at least 4 children - Frank b.1884 , Marcel b.1885 (my great), Andres b.1883 - who was Shanghiad during the 1908 St. Louis Worlds Fair and never seen again, and Juanes Fernandez, who stayed in Spain and married an eye doctor, Manolo Fernandez. Marcel and Frank came to Montreal and then to NJ both with wifes from the Solanas family, with whom the two families were described as always being close. Marcel was the head maitre'd at the Waldorf Astoria in the 20's. Frank lived in the Atlantic City in the service industry as well until his wife died of the Spanish Flu. I have many family pictures however I can't find information confirming Juilo or Louisa Appracio. If you know this family or are from a Burgos or Solanas family from Zaragoza, please let me know.

Were told by my great-grandfather that our family origenated fron Los Andies and France,"Bourgos" Later on THE Cite of Bourgia merge with others three city of france, and is call different now. He use to show us a old map fron France that has that city... and that in late 1700 there flet to Spain, Castilla where our great-great-great grandfathers settler and later on my graet-great- granfather became misionary and travel throut midle east, india and grecia italy)letter on they move to La Espaniola(early 1800) now in days Dominican republic where he family settle and have three boys. The three boys marry to the Murray and Sosa three girls.Were told that our family were big farmer for cocoa platacion and general agriculture. My now in days our family own a lot of land heritage by our ancester.Everytime my great-grandpa told as histories about the family, he would remark that we originate fron Los Andies, no matter what people said.We confirm that they came fron "Burgia" but we don't know anything about (Los Andies).recenly I meet a Burgos family from Uruguay. And without me saing anythin they mention that the Burgos Origenated fron Los Andies.
