bjorklund/burklund nels in Troy Idaho

Hello

I am looking for any information on the burklund/bjorklunds that settled in Idaho (Troy area.) I have Nels birthday as 6/14/1854 and census records say that he immigrated in either 1880 or 1882, He lived in Minnesota and married Anna in 1887. They had Oscar in 1888. Their second son Joel was born in Idaho and married Hannah Hellstrom.

This is really the only information I have and I seem to be at a dead end...does anyone have any advice or information? You can contact me at disa.andrea@gmail.com

If Anna's parents were Sam & Eleda Swanson, this is info I have on her. She married Harold Burkland August 4, 1911 and had three children, Roy, Jean & Doris. Harold passed away in January of 1970 in California. Anna passed away in April 1968 in Long Beach, California. Hopes this info is helpful

I happened to come across your posting and I think I can give you further info on this family. Roy Burkland married Helen Conkle and lived in Long Beach, California. Helen and her family were real close to my parents while we lived in San Diego and I really do not know the connection other then my parents were born and raised in Chicago also. My mothers side of the family was from Sweden. I have further info on the family if you care to have it I would be glad to share. Please contact me by email.

I have informations about Anna Burkland. She came from Sweden and was a cousin of my grandmother. I'm interested to know more about her and her living in America and find relatives there.

He was 86, a lifelong resident of Austin, Travis Co, TX and died Saturday, January 4, 2003 in a local hospital.
He was born on a farm in the Georgetown/ Williamson Co TX area August 17,1916, the son of Oscar Burklund and Ida Peterson Burklund. He served in the US Army during WWII From 1941 to 1945. He was a member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church, SPJST Lodge #187 in Round Rock, Williamson CoTX
He married Darleen Priem Burklund Feb 15,1948 who survives him
He is also survived by son, Carl and wife Eva Burklund of Round Rock; daughters Kathleen Walker and husband Dale of Georgetown; marie Schubkegel and husband Gerald of Round Rock and Doris Prescott and husnad Bill of Austin;l four grandchildren: Scott and Blake Burklund of Round Rock, William Prescott of Austin, Lisa Bull of San ANgelo and two great-grandchildren Kailey and Logan Bull of San Angelo,
Interment in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Pflugersville,Travis Co TX.

He was 73 years and a resident of Maxwell, TX and died on Friday, Jan 1, 2003 of cancer.
He was born oCt 23, 1929 in Creedmoor, TX and was a rom crop farmer his entire life. He served on the Creedmoor and Del Valle School Boards. He was a founding Board member of the Creedmoor-Maha Water Supply Sorporation and was a director of the Texas Cotton Growers Cooperative Asociation for 25 years. He served on the board of directors on the South Central Texas Federal Land Bank Association of San Marcos for 22 years. He was one of the owner/operators of the Maha Gin Company.
He is survived by his wife of 50 yeras, Jerry; three sons, Hollis, Melvin and wife Tommime and Wesley Burkland and wife Bonnie; six grandsons, two granddaughter and one great-granddaughter.
Interment at Live Oak Cemetery in Manchaca, TX.

Julie - I have information on Adeline Twait's family. My son-in-law is related to this family and I've been helping him do some family research. We have Adeline Twait married to Elmer Erland Howard Burkland on Mar 30, 1933 in Princeton, IL. Adeline was b. Feb 8, 1912 in Kendall County, IL. Elmer was b. Mar 23, 1896 in Aurora, Kane County, IL. Adeline's parents were Severt/Syvert O. Twait and Janna "Jennie" Bertina Johnson. Some of this information came from an Internet site re the Burkland Family so you probably already have this. We do have information on the early Twait family. We would be interested in any added information you have on the family and would be willing to share.

I am sorry, the name is mispelled. It is my fault. It is supposed to be Burkeland. They are originally from Ireland, and Finland. Moved from there to Michigan, then Chicago, and then my grandmother Jean Catherine Burkeland Bonfield moved to Wisconsin with her husband. If any of that fits your husbands family please let me know...

My grandmother is Jean C Burkland/Bonfield. She has one sister, Doris Burkland/Schnur, and one brother, Roy Burkland. All of them were born and raised in Chicago, IL. I am still researching the further stretches of this family... Jean C Burkland's mother's maiden name is Doherty.

Let me know if you know any of these names...
