ISOM BURNELL

Anneke Burnell-Lacorato  (View posts) Posted: 4 May 1999 5:37PM GMT
I am seeking information regarding Isom Burnell who was my great, great, great grandfather. The only thing I have found thus far has been a record of his death in a cemetary in Arkansas.

If you have information relating to his birth, mother's name, father's name...any thing at all, please let me know.

I saw your posting on Isom Burnell, he is
my great great grandfather.
Did you get any other replys? I'm not sure
what you have found out or the info you have
received, but I also have info.
Have you ever been to the reunions?
I know that your posting was in June, hopefully
you're still out there.
Hope to here from you soon.

I don't think I've spelled the name correctly, but look up the BRUNELL (not Burnell this time) at your local LDS FHC (Latter Day Saints - Mormon - Family History Center) or go to their web site. I think it's www.lds.org

They have film on this British BRUNELL! Good luck to you.

My Brunelles are Fr-Can, from the Champlain Trois Rivieres area, then on to Bay Co, Michigan by the 1890's.

I am somehow related to Isom/Ispham/Isphen. He is related to my great grandfather Nimrod Burnell. His tombstone is in the cemetery at the Mt. Vernon AME Church in Stephens.

Ed Burnell is my grandfather. His daughter Cora Burnell Hughes is my grandmother. In a written family list, my aunt has listed Ispham as brother to Nimrod.

I would be interested in sharing information.

Hi,

I received your message about Isom Burnell; it's been awhile since I've used Rootsweb.com.
Is Ed Burnell, Nimrod's son?
I do have Ed Burnell in our family tree; Ed is listed as the son of Isham, Sr.
I have to go back over my records, but I have Ed with at least 3 siblings, Fannie, Isham, Jr and John L. Burnell (my ancestor).
If I remember correctly, there was a Nimrod in the census, but I have to go back and check.
Let me know what you think, maybe we can get some info straightened out. By the way, do you have relatives in Atlanta, GA?

Surnames: Burnell, Kendrick
Hello Frances, I am so glad to see that someone else is looking for information on Isham or the Burnell's in general. I have received an email from an Isham descendant. It appears that some of his grandchildren migrated to Michigan.

Also, a few days ago I invited you to my family tree. I was thrilled to see that you are a descendant of Ed Burnell and Elvira Kendrick. I having been trying to uncover more information about them. As you can see I am a Kendrick, and Harriett Burnell was my great grandmother who would also be your Great Aunt (if I understand the connection correctly). She married Haril Kendrick (11 Children resulted from this union) and migrated to the Paris, Texas area along with some of the other Burnell family members, who also married into the Kendrick family. I have picture of Harriett which I would be more than happy to share with you. Please contact me when you can I may have information that you would be interested in. EzellwMail@aol.com

I am a descendent of one of those Burnells who settled in Michigan. Isom was my great, great grandfather. My grandfather was Godfrey Burnell and My father was Lee Edward Burnell.

Also, most of Godfrey's children moved to Michigan and been there most of their lives. Of the eight that lived there all are deceased except Geneva, Bertha and Delma. They all live in Inkster, Michigan.

We are connected by blood, very close cousins.

Hey Cheryl,

My aunt Geneva who lives in Michigan knows (knew) the names of all her aunts and uncles...which would be the offsprings of Isom and Eugenie Burnell. I have not worked on this for a number of years but recll her saying there was lots of girls born to that union. I will call her to see if she can still remember their names. She is the oldest of union between Godfrey Burnell and Carrie Burnell (nee) Moss (my grands)
