I know this is an old post, but I am a descendant of Sally Frazier. I have the documentation that she was a full-blooded Choctaw Indian, which is also available on Fold 3. I am willing to share it with you if you would like. It is contained in a Dawes packet file on my ancestor Nancy Jane Henry, who was a descendant of Sally Frazier. She proved she was Choctaw, and she and many other witnesses testify that Sally Frazier was a full-blooded Choctaw. His first wife died and he married my Mom. However they may have been related as there semmed to have been several Birneys in New Brunswick around the same time. His brother Wiley lived in St Johns most or all of his life.

I started trying to put together a family tree a couple of years ago but got frustrated and gave up. My dad is a Burney, we're in Jacksonville, he was born/raised here. I'd be interested to start pursuing this again if you'd like to talk more. My email address is cab121364 at yahoo.

Thomas Burney, 1780-1859, PA/OH/WI

Looking for info on ancestry of Thomas Burney, b. 25 Sep 1780 in Pennsylvania, possibly Allegheny County (per Mrs. K. Whitcher, Grant Co., WI, 1985); d. 3 Nov 1859, Lima, Grant, Wisconsin. Married Mary Hughes prior to 1807. Relocated with family to Pickaway County, Ohio after 1810. Before 1820 removed to Wayne County, Ohio where they lived for at least three decades. Wife Mary died probably before February 1823 when Thomas married for a second wife Lucinda Smith. Thomas Burney had several children by both women. Before 1855 the families removed to the area around Lima, Grant County, Wisconsin. Am wondering if he is connected to John Burney who in 1790 resided in Allegheny County, PA (the part formerly of Washington County prior to 1789)? Or possibly Thomas Burney, from Allegheny or Washington County, who was one of the group arrested in the Whiskey Rebellion in 1794? Others? Any and all info is appreciated.

The specific John Burney I am trying to track down is one that was born in Guilford county NC. He moved to TN with his wife Matilda Young (born in Rockingham North Carolina Oct. 18 1814. She is buried in the Burney cemetery in Maury co. TN.
They moved to TN in the 1820's.
They had 9 children. 1. J.T. Burney, 2. Robert W. Burney b. NC 1819, 3.John M. Burney (Colonel) b. NC 12-31-1822, 4. Mary B. Burney, Sallie Burney (Glenn), 6.Thomas Burney 11-1-1830,
7.Dr. James W. Burney 11-1-1830 (twins) 8. Prof.A.M. Burney 6-4-1833, Howard female Cottage Gallatin Tn, 9. Elizabeth Burney(Warren) b.1853
My father, Robert Burney Long Jr. is the grandson of Anna Burney ,one of the six daughters of Robert W. Burney who married Fredonia Williamson. He& his wife died in 1866 of yellow fever in Delta LA across the river from Vicksburg. If you can tell me how he relates to Charles or John in Guilford county it would be greatly appreciated.
I find it hard to believe the family were once Quakers. Robert W.Burney had slaves on his cotton plantation in Delta LA. His plantation Grandview, was occupied by U.S. Grant when he tried to divert the Mississippi River at Vicksburg during the Civil War. Robert W. was a big drinker and gambler(He played cards with the occupying Yankees....UGH) according to family legend.
Thank you
Candace Long Brewer Candacelong@windstream.net

I just started researching this side of the family and need a little help. I have seen information that Charles' father's name was Bernard and also that it was William. Do you have any research for Charles? Any direction would be much appreciated.

I am seeking information about the family of my g-grand father, Noah Hugh Burney b 1860. It appears that his father was Richard Burney b 1826 Washington GA & mother Ann Tipling Sawyer Hughes Burney. Noah lived in Leon County Fla for most of his life. Was in Nassua County Fla at his death in 1915. I believe that Richard's line was Harris Burney d 1836 Georgia, Richard Burney b about 1744, unknown,
Simon (?)Burney b about 1670.
