Hi, Good to hear from you. Surprisingly I had a message yesterday from one of Dorothy Jackson Burstow's grandchildren wanting to know what info I had about her. She was a first cousin of my father, Douglas Vandenbossche, son of Edith Burstow. As he died when I was three yrs. old, I knew very little about his family, but I do remember meeting Dorothy's sister Elsie, who was married to Frank Goodridge. I have looked in B,M & D and found a Dorothy J. Weatherstone who married Unknown Read in 1936 in Tynemouth, Northumberland, but nothing more. Was it the Burstow or Weatherstone grandparents who looked after Andrew and Pamela after the divorce? Do you have any photos of Thomas, Dorothy and the children? Good luck, Margaret Troll.
Hi, Re Dorothy Jackson Burstow- she was one of my father's first cousins. He was Douglas Vandenbossche, son of Edith Burstow. As he died when I was only three yrs.old, I have not met many of his family, but I remember Dorothy's sister Elsie, who married Frank Goodridge. They lived in Ealing, quite near us, in Mill Hill. I am afraid we have no photos of them. Any Burstow photos I have are on my Tree.
Best wishes , Margaret Troll.

Hi

Thanks for your posts and Margaret, sorry for not replying sooner - I had to be away from this for a while. Can you tell me a bit more about your relation to Dorothy J Burstow? As far as we understood, she married Thomas Weatherstone in Plymouth and had two children, and she was then divorced and the children were cared for by the grandparents, so we know nothing of what happened to her. Can you help?

Thanks

Mary

I saw your reply to a query about Dorothy J Burstow. She was my grandmother. Unfortunately there was a divorce in the family and Dorothy left and settled elsewhere. For this reason we never saw even a picture of her. I was always curious as to her physical appearance, so even if you had any of a sister or brother it would be interesting. Thank you for posting the pictures of Hugh Burstow, I suppose he would be my great-great grandfather.

Our tree from Hugh is through his son Alfred (Great grandfather), his son Reginald (Grandfather), his son Roger (Father). I in turn have 4 children (Harriet, Ryan, Thomas and Emma). In addition I have a brother Nicholas who has 2 children (Jessica and Natalie). I know my father has done some research into the family and believe you have spoken to him previously.
Hi, I am Margaret Troll, and ,yes, Dorothy Jackson Burstow is related to me. My father was Douglas VandenBossche, the eldest son of Henry's sister Edith- she married Alphonse VandenBossche. My father was very friendly with Elsie May ,Dorothy's elder sister. We visited her and her husband, Frank Goodridge, in Ealing, W.London.I also remember meeting Helena [Nellie], Edith and Henry's younger sister, who lived in Alton, Hants. I would like to know about Dorothy and her family- have you any photos? Also her parents Henry and Ellen. I have a few good photos of Hugh Burstow on my tree, especially the one with the beard ,taken while on duty in West Africa.
Looking forward to hearing from you, Margaret Troll

Hi - I am seeking information about Burstow Hall Farm, Burstow, Tandridge, Surrey, UK.

I have information that Murray ASTON farmed this land around 1880. Did he own this land or lease/rent it?

Does any one have information about this or can offer suggestions about obtaining information for genealogy purposes.

Thanks, Rose.

I am looking for relatives of Hugh Burstow b. 1840 in Brighton, Sussex. He was married to Margaret Jackson b.1845 in Brighton. His father's name was Horace Burstow b. 1796. Some of Hugh Burstow's family moved to Canada early in the 20th C. Some remained in Devon, where they were born. Hoping for results.
