Nellie Bushey Brillion's daughter, Dorothy (who was married twice) was my mom's mother.

Dorothy died when I was very young, either late 1952 or early 1953.

My mom was her only child with Raymond Oliver, then she had two more daughters (Patsy and Linda) with William Piotte.

PS..just wanted to add that, in an attempt to find out Edmonds's parents' names, I ordered his death certificate. His father's name (James) was on the certificate, but his mother's name wasn't. The reporting party was Edmond's son, William. Oh, and his name as written on the death certificate was "Napoleon".

I have tried contacting you via email and telephone, to no avail.
Jodie,
Do you have anything on the marriage of Byron Earl Bushey, Sr. and Elliotte B. Olson Thorson.
Elliotte Beding Olson was born on 11 NOV 1907 in Hennepin Co., MN, and married Theodore R. Thorson on 30 JUN 1932. He died on 15 MAR 1949 in Ramsey Co., MN. She died on 28 JUL 1959 in Crow Wing Co, and, at that time, was listed as the wife of Byron E. Bushey, Sr. I can find no record of their marriage, nor of his death. I assume this is the same man who married Gertrude Kurtz in 1920, and she died on 12 OCT 1947.
Any information you could throw on this marriage and his death would be appreciated.

Myles Smith

I am new to this and my son is trying to research my family history, especially since my mother didn't share much about it. I noticed in this listing the names of 4 (or 5) people who have to be directly related to me. My granfather, Victor Brillion (or Brillon as it appears on his Baptismal certificate)and 3 of my aunts, Beatrice, Flora and Dorothy. There were 4 other sisters. Pearl, Helen, Ellen and my mother, Lena. Except for Beatrice who was the eldest I know for certain that the rest are deceased. I believe my grandmother's name was also Helen but I did hear her referred to occasionally as Nellie as mentioned in this posting. I hope someone can help me to help my son push out some boundaries. Thank you.

Hi- I am researching this line as well- Nancy hasn't been researching much lately...Yes this is the same person. Clara Driver was married to Leonard Ralston. On some record it was recorded as Bernard, but is was Leonard. The mystery that Nancy & I are both trying to solve, was, who was Leonard's mother? Leonard and his brother Calvin were born to Wm. Ralston and an unknown woman. Wm. then remarried to Luella Vinson and had several more kids. Luella raised Leonard & Calvin. Leonard married Clara, and they had Bessie, only months before Calvin died. We were hoping that descendents of Bessie may have some record of Leonard... I'll post more later and I do have some dates, etc. if you need. My email is smithanne24@yahoo.com (Calvin Ralston was my great grandfather)

Hi Nancy,
Have made contact with Lu Jean Arends who is helping Rita Pikula with her research, Rita has no computer so uses Lu Jean's. she asked if I would leave her email address for you to contact her directly. larends11@hotmail.com

In the meantime I did some searching myself and find a Clara Driver m. to Bernard Ralston, cannot find Leonard. She was apparently widowed then married a Benton, has one full sister Sarah . . . and half siblings Benton. Is this the same person?
Happy hunting, Jeanine

Never discount a piece of information because it does not conform perfectly to what you have collected . . . Bushey is a French name i believe . . . many people came through Canada to get to the US, but that did not make them Canadians necessarily . . . their children might be born there however.

thanks for the quick response, however, i do not believe this to be the same Edmond. Edmond's parents are from Canada, and this 1880 census show that Edmond's parents to be from France and Switzerland.

Again, thank you!

Steve

This is my family but I also am stuck at the point of Charles Bushey Sr., I can't read french so I am having problems searching the Canada records. Fred Bushey was my grand father, so even though I don't know you, it sounds like you are a first or second cousin to me. Since you posted in the year of 2000, I am assuming that Bessie has passed on. Her brother Fred (my grandfather) died at 105 in St. Albans, Vermont in 2007. I would love any information on the family that you can give me. Eileen

Charles Bushey is my great grand father. I am the grand daughter of Fred Bushey. Charles Sr. was born in Canada and so was Charles Jr. When Charles Jr. was a baby they moved to Vermont and had a huge family. Charles also had a set of twins and sother children. I don't have the list of names in front of me right now. Clara is my great grandmother and the father of my grandfather. At the turn of the century (1900's) they lived in Fairfax, Vermont and later many of the family members moved to St. Albans, Vermont where some of the decendants continue to live to this day. Mary Flindy is also a relative of mine. I have only been working on my famiy tree for a couple of months but I do have a lot of personal knowledge of my family in St. albans, Vermont. It sounds like you are looking for my grandfathers sister. Let me know if I can help. Eileen

Henry Bushey of Toronto

I wonder if anyone has any information at all about HENRY BUSHEY? I would guess he was born some time around 1915, but I have no evidence for this.

On 4 Dec 1950 he was living at 111 Glen Road, Toronto with my aunt, Isabella Simpson (aka Bushey), according to a record on that date of Isabella crossing the Canada-USA border on a day trip.

Isabella was born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1909, and when in the UK she married (1) James Clarkson (2) Ian Urquhart (3) Russell Clark. The latter was a Canadian trooper and Isabella went as a war bride to Canada, but the marriage does not seem to have lasted long.

I don't have alot of information but am hoping someone could help out with finding a Florence Bushey. She married William Alfus Jones and they lived around the Grand Rapids area in MN. Florence was a seamstress who sewed clothes for Judy Garland. Her parents were Mary J. Mitchel/Michaud and her father was John Bushey.
