Hi All. Here is my brick wall.
I am searching for a connection between the Buxton and Burnell families, in England, during the early 1800's. I know that it existed, but have been unable to discover who married who, or when. Here's my proof:-
In the 1891 census for St. Botolph-without-Aldgate, London; the 3 Burnell children:- Edward (b.1880), Annie (b.1883), and Lillian (b.1888) are staying at the home of John Buxton (b.1833) and his wife Harriet ??? (b.1838) while their parents Henry James Burnell (b.1859) and Caroline (nee Edwards) (b.1863) are traveling in Africa. The children are listed as a Grand-Nephew & 2 Grand-Nieces to John Buxton.
In addition, Arthur Buxton (b.1872) (youngest son of John Buxton) is a visiting Cousin to the Caroline Burnell (b.1863) family in the 1901 census.
My family oral history confirmed that the Buxton and Burnell families are related, but the folk who might have known the details died long ago.
Can anyone help?
