Looking for any info. re family of David Byers, b abt 1824 in Ireland. He married Sarah Jane Fair and in 1851 census, they are in Mornington Ontario, Canda.They had 4 known children, Mary, Eliza, Joseph and Ellen. David joined the Gold Rush and died in Barkerville in 1864. Looking for his ancestors, or any more on his family.

John Byers from Wilkes County North Carolina

Hi all. I'm searching for some information for my ancestors. I've tracked down my roots on my great grandma's side to the Byers (Elizabeth Hazel->Garfield->David->John). I've gotten as far as John Byers/Byars, who was married to Anna/Annie Church (according to another of their son's death certs). I would like to find out more about John Byers and possibly his parents. When did he die? Where was he born?

I haven't been able to find any birth certs on John or marriage records. I did find a Wilkes County record for a Cernilius Byers and Suena Curch in Aug 181? (it is thought they got married 1818). Could that be him? Was his middle name possibly Cornelius? I noticed on the census's from 1820-1840, there were both a Cornelius and John Byers living in Wilkes County. Unfortunately, it is thought he died around 1840 after David was born. Not sure if that's true, as I have yet to have found a death record, but it seems Anna and the kids were alone in the 1850 census.

If anyone could give me any info on this, it would be GREATLY appreciated. I've been at this search for a few months and it's boggling my mind.

Ken was born December 18, 1935 in Oil City
to John & Isabelle (Seth) Byers. He was raised in Reno, Pa. and graduated from Rocky Grove High School in 1953. Ken served in the Army and then later retired from Frontier Airlines. He was a true outdoorsman who enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, hiking, canoeing, and "rollie coasters". Ken is survived by wife, Connie; children, Dan Byers, and Amy (Byers) and Kevin Moyer; grandchildren: Noah, Avary, Alexandra, and Jacob; siblings: Robert and Cinda Byers, Bonnie and Bill Boyd, and Marcia Bush, (all of Reno), and Duane and Mickey Byers of Oregon; and nieces and nephews: Susan (Byers) Crater, Joshua Byers, Lori (Mason) Hooker, Ronda Bush, Faye (Bush) McKean, Ken Bush, Randy Byers, and Larry Byers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Reno Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 149, Reno, PA 16343.

Byers family - Highway road crew - pickens SC 1920

My Grandfather was born in Pickens County, SC in 1920. His father worked on the road crews that built the hightways. In 1920 the highway camp was in Pickens County. His name was Henry Louis "Pete" Byers, Died in Lee County Fla in 1981. His first wife was Lois Pollitt from Mass. and his second wife's name is Carmon. I know he had two girls; Margaret Lee Byers & Sheryl Byers. He was also in the Navy when he meet my grandmother Lois..... HELP!!!!

Bill & Marta, I've enjoyed reading your posts. I'm wondering where my Samuels fit into all this (if I find another Sam in this family, I'm going to scream).

My ggggrandfather was Samuel Byers, born in PA in 1812. He relocated to Marion Co., GA and married Mary (maiden name unknown). The 1860 census lists them having six children. The baby, Samuel J.(1858-1936), is my gggrandfather. Thanks in advance for any info.

Well this might come as a shock to you and I hope you are still willing to share information with me. I have from Stanton Byers down to me. I know nothing of him or his family. My grandfather was kept as a secret, I belive that Stanton was married to another lady at the time my grandfather was born. For this I'm sorry and I'm not tring to interfear in anyones life but I would like to know my family history. My grandfather past away a long time ago in a car accident when he was 37 or 38, but his name is not the same as Byers he took my Great Grandmothers name, I guess because of the situation.

Hazel Elizabeth was my grandmother and she gave me all the family history..in her research the spelling is
Ida "Hein" ( married Ozais Byers)

father William Hein (his father Carl and mother Mary)
B Oct 20 1842
D Feb 03 1917
Mother Elizabeth Sperberg ( they had three children Mary, Ida, Alvina)

William remarried Matilda Weber and had 9 more children

I've been trying to find my Gr Grandfather's parents for 25 years. Based on the 1860 Grene Co., AR Gree Donald/Donothen Byers was born in SC. I searched the 1850 census from SC but have found nothing close. Anyone who can make a suggestion will be appreciated.

There are Byers in the Newberg area that came in the late 30's early 40's from Kansas, the great grandfather was from Bumcombe County,NC. The N.C. Byers have been there since the late 1600's. My mother was from this Byers family. Would like to exchange information. detpat31@comcast.net

I am Lloyd Byers and my family came from County Cavan, N. Ireland after being run off their property in scotland during the clearences. They then immigrated to the states in the 1700's to Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina. My family then went to Tenn. and on to Oregon. Any person in the North Bend/ Coos Bay area with the Byers name is a relative.

I'm looking for my Sallie Elizabeth Vaughn b. 1839 d.1858 m. Enoch Vaughn, had two chilren and died in 1858. Enoch remarried. Maria Porter, they had one child and he died. all of the children went and stayed with the Grand parents in Polk Co. NC. 1860 and 1870. I'm trying to find the Sallie Elizabeth. My family came from Wilkes County and imigrated to Tenn. and then on to Oregon. My Grandfather was born in Elizabethton, just over the border from Boone. His father frank Robert was born in Wilkes before moving. Franks wife was Emaline Minton. Franks parents were J.S. Byers and Susan Summerlin. Lula Bell Byers Murray and husband Jackson Wise Murray are buried in Bethlehem Cemetery in Douglas, AL, Marshall County. This is also the church where he preached, but the building has fallen down several years ago. Sons, Hubert and Ollie are buried there also. I have a very large and very old picture of one of Lula Bell's aunts when she was a young girl and a large picture of Jackson Wise when he was very young also. If I can help with any info on this end please let me know, and I would like more information on Lula Bell and Jackson also. thank you

I found out that the parents of my Francis Marion Byers were Joseph Byers and Rachael LNU. Francis Marion had a brother Leander, and there were at least 5 other children according to my source. This Francis Marion Byers was born in either Ohio or Illinois.

James Simeon Byers was my great great grandfather. He was born in NC and moved to Kansas, (children born there and he died there) after the Civil War (he did not go back to NC)He never told his children where he was born and the census records never said. Took until 1970's to finally get it figured out!!! I am looking for a William born 1782 in York Co SC, moved to Buncumbe, NC two Samuel Byers born 1749 and Margaret Handley would like to know where William and his wife Sarah McCarson went after 1840.

Thanks for responding with this information. I will look into these names and see what I can find out, but I just don't know about this Francis Marion Byers. It's unlikely, but it could be; he could have been born in NC, as my Sumner, Moore, Clark, Morris, Byers, etc. and other related families did come from VA and NC and TN and seemed to move West together via KY and IN before settling in Linn Co., Missouri.

The reason I asked was that there is a Francis M Byers born 1840 in North Carolina and married a women by the name of Mary last name not known. His parents were Ephriam and Millie Ratliff Byers.

Thanks for your reply. I do not know very much about him. I only have that he was Francis Marion Byers born Bet. 1836-1840 in either Ohio or Illinois. He's in the 1880 census in Linn Co., MO age 40, but in the 1900 Linn Co., MO census as 64; born Ohio as per the 1900. He's with his son age 16 in 1900 - John Milton Byers who married Della M. Tremain.
Francis died after 1900 is all I know. I know more about his wife Mary Eliza Moore and her family. Her parents were Mary Sumner and John Moore.

George Johann Beyer - 1726-1792

Hello, all! I'm trying to work out a mystery regarding George Johann Beyer (1726-1792), the supposed son of immigrant Johann Henrich Beyer (1708-1757).

Everything I have found links the two as father and son, but there are a few problems..... Records indicate that George was born in Germany but the passenger lists do not list him coming over with his father. Also his birth predates his parents' wedding by four years. Oh, and his mother is born and wed in the USA and George was supposedly born in Germany so it cannot just be an unwed mother situation. So I'm thinking George had a different mother in Germany? Or maybe he's just not related at all??

Has anyone found anything that definitively links George and Johann?

I'll do this a little at a time;The Hopewell cemetery in New Bedford, Pa lists two Samuels buried there.
Samuel Byers b.1762-d.12/16/1839 age 77 years and
Samuel Byers b.?????? -d.6/10/1836 age 71 years so he was born abt. 1765.

Confusion is rampant. Apparently both Andrew(1723) and John(1733) had sons named Samuel both born in 1762, The information I gave you was for the Samuel born to Andrew. I only have the name of Samuel born to John -no birth date. I will now put 1762 in for your Samuel. I still would like to know what you have on James (1676) and his father Thomas.

The Samuel Byers I have researched was born in Pennsylvania. Most of the family tree remained in Pa. until 1996. The Samuel Byers listed here was born in 1762. His grandfather was James Byers born in Scotland in 1676.

I have been looking for 25 years for the progenetor of my BYERS line.
Any help or suggestions will be appreciated.
My Line is from Marion Donald Byers, 1901-1992> G (Green) D (Don)Byers, 1863-1938> GD Byers abt 1838-1863.
The last Byers was born in SC or MD. He was living in Gainesville, Green Co., AR in the 1860 census. The name was spelled Biers. He was a confederate Capt. He died in Memphis in a US miliatry hospital as a result of a bullet wound to the head during the battle of Helena.

I am very interested in the John you have listed along with Samuel b.1762 and William b. 1735. You have John as dieing in 1799. My GGGGgrandfather died in 1799. His name was John.I was hoping he and William may have been brothers.
