Isabel Caballero from Spain?? Husband: Ceferino Martinez

I am looking for more info on my Mothers family. Her Father was Eleno Caballero Martinez from Texas. His Mother (I am told) was from Spain...Isabel Caballero. His Father was Ceferino Martinez.

Eleno died in 1962 in Houston, Texas and my Mother (Mary Helen) was only 9 at the time and didn't know his family.
Any info would be appreciated.

Chris, I don't know how much information you or your family have concerning your Caballero family line but I have information connecting Ladislado Caballero as half brother to my grandfather. My father was the only family member living who remembered that my grandfather had a half brother and what his name was. I spent a long time connecting your grandfather to the family and final came across a border crossing document that listed him as son of my great grandfather. Ladis Caballero was my Grandfather. My mother ( deceased )
was Opal Caballero Rodriquez. Sorry to say I never got the chance to meet Ladis & Amelia, they both died before I was born.(1955) Only one of their children is still alive, that is Dorothy Caballero. I would be more than happy to give you more information or answer any question you may have.

I was reading your message and I have a great grandmother named Maria Guadalupe who passed away a few years ago. I don't know much about my Carreon family because my father was not around. But would like to know more about my heritage/family. He's name was Jorge Carreon from Jalisco. He's brother is Lupe Carreon married to Martha Carreon who live in Azusa California. and he also has a sister named Rosa Carreon now Villegas. Do any of these people sound familiar to you? I am looking for any descendants fo Ladislado "Ladis" Caballero born in Mexico (possibly Marin, Nuevo Leon) about 1888. Was married first to a Mollie L. and had children Altagracia and Rosie C.. Was married second to a Amelia and had children Marcos, Hellen, Lee, Dorathy, Opal, and Lela. Left Mexico and went to Colorado where most of his children were born and then appears after his first wife died moved to Utah. Not sure where first wife was born but second wife Amelia was born in New Mexico. Have connected him as my grandfather's half brother and would be interested in contacting and exchanging information with any of his descendants.

Hi, my name is Rafael Caballero jr. and I'm the son of Rafael Caballero Sr. who is the son of Juan Caballero who Married Angela Torres. I don't know the name of my great grand father but maybe some of this names might ring some bells. My dad's side of the family comes from a town called Narajo de Chila en Michoacan, Mexico. I don't know if this will help at all.

I recently started to wonder just where my family came from and I found out there has been caballeros in Mexico since the 1500s =) it's fascinating really. I believe we even have a coat of arms.

How do you know about the three brothers. There could have been many caballeros. Is your search specific to abraham caballero? I'm not even sure his real name is abraham.

Word of mouth has it that my great grandfather came from Spain to Cuba and on to Jamaica, but that Abraham may not have been his real name.

I'm searching for information re my father's mother. Here is all I know:
Name: Tomasa Caballero
Born: approx. 1910 Santurce Puerto Rico
Died: approx. 1942 Santurce Puerto Rico
Known Children with Modesto Garcia Quinones:
Rafael Antonio Garcia Caballero b. 1931
Angel Garcia Caballero b. approx 1934

Also had a daugher, Father's name unknown to me:
Nereida (born after 1934)

My dad Rafael lived with a family friend, Damiana Montanez,after his mother died and before his father Modesto brought him to live in NYC. If you have any info on this family. Please let me now. Also, my dad's father Modesto had other (older) children with a woman named Isabel:

-Luisa Garcia (later married Martinez and settled in Queens, NY)
-Modesto Garcia Jr.

There is a Tomasa Caballero in the 1910 PR census and another in the 1920 PR census, but I have no idea if it's her because I don't know the names of her parents. But if someone out there can help me connect the dots that would be fantastic. Please note that Santurce and Puerta de Tierra (where my Dad was born) are barrios of San Juan, PR. Thank you,

Hi. I am replying to your posted information. My husband's great grandfather went to Runge, Texas and died there. His names was Antonio Caballero and his brothers were Francisco and Juan Caballero. Their father was Andres Caballero ( 1825) and mother was Cresencia Alvares Caballero. Can you go further back into Mexico WITH THIS Caballero line

I am researching my husband's Caballero roots. Do you know anything about Andres Caballero-born about 1825 who was married to Cresencia Alvares. I am trying to go further back and I can't find them in ancestry.com.

The name Caballero is a Spanish name. I just got done looking it up. Im the only Caballero in my family because my father died before i tuned one. His name was Perfecto Zapata Caballero. I only know my mothers side of my blood. my mother tells me he is from san antonio. and my mothers side is all from corpus. maybe my father is a cousin of yours. hope that helps one of us.

I'm trying to put my tree together and came across your post. My grandfater, Francisco Benavides Caballero was also born in Runge, Texas 1910. His father was Francisco J(?) Caballero and mother was Gila Benavides. This is as far as I go back, I know my grandfather had twin brothers.

My great grand father was Vicente Caballero from Caguas, Puerto Rico. I have very little details about him. My grand-father Julio Caballero lived until 2003 he was born in 1910. I found out that the surname Caballero was registered in Toledo Spain and has Jewish background.

The 3rd Country was Cuba. My great grandfather came form Cuba to Jamaica I believe. His father's name was Luis Caballero, my great grandfather name was Aston Caballero.THE KIDS WERE ALAN, ASTON, MIGUEL, EMMANUEL, LEROY AND 2 SISTERS OLIVE AND HERMINE.

Iam married to Manuel Caballero Jr. His fatahaer Manuel Caballero Sr. was told that he comes from one of the brothers that came from Spain. That one move the Mexico, one moved to Texas and the other we are not sure of. He was born in a coastal town of Woodsborough Texas(near Corpus Christi Tx.) We know live in San Antonio.

I am married to Manuel Caballero Jr. His father Manuel Caballero Sr. (who was born in Woodsborough Tx- coastal town) was told that he comes from one of the decendants of the three brothers that left Spain. This he was told by a man when he recently traveled to Spain.

I just started searching but came across my Great Grandfather Eugenio Caballero also known as Eugenio Las Jos Caballlero, he was born approximately 1880 in Arecibo, Puerto Rico. He had a wife named Leonor Pintol. I'm told he had brothers how many I do not know that came from Spain. I do know that the family had ties to a family owned winery in Spain that may or may not be around anymore if that helps any.
