Hi Sue,
I would love to see the photos! My Great Grand Aunt, whom you are calling Bessie, I called Aunt Gene, her whole name was Geneva Bessie Cain and as a child she went by Bessie. She did have a son, Robert Roy Wilson, but, he died after WWII in 1946. Aunt Gene was one of my most favorite relatives. We would frequently visit her in Los Angeles and have picnics in Griffith Park. Eventually, after her husband, Uncle Roy, died, she moved close to us in San Diego. She was so sweet, loving and kind--always. I'm not sure if John Paul or Mary had children. Neither one was ever married.

My cousin, John M. Cain (66) passed this morning, so seeing the title of this was a little, I guess strange, but I would like to get more information. My Cain's have been in South Jersey since approx 1730. Email me at ecain525@yahoo.com

Earl Cain
South Jersey

Hi, I'm trying to find living descendants of the Cain family from South Jersey area from early 1700s. In my research on the Kaighn family of South Jersey, there are many instances of people using both names or being recorded as both Cain and Kaighn. We are interested in Cains who will join a DNA project to help us sort out this lineage and in the process also find more relatives and ancestors.
Thanks for any help you can give.
J.
Dear Evelyn,
My name is Roland Green and Joseph and Polly Green are/were my great-great-great grandparents. I have a much copied copy of this article and the photograph is almost completely black so I would love a scan. As far as I'm aware there are no other Green's descended from Joseph and Polly other than an Eldon Green, Jr. who lives in Calif., certainly there are none in Hebron.
I would be interested to know of the likely descendants and see if they fit with my family tree.
Regards RBG.

I think your ancestor is related to mine. Hiram Cain born 1823 in KY had five wives, one of which could have had your ancestor, I'm thinking maybe Elizabeth. Because they were married in 1843 but no children show up until 1874, my ancestor is Albert Patrick Cain born Huntsville, Madison Co Arkansas 1851. Not solid evidence but may be a place to look.

Correcting an earlier post I made, Macklin Elisco Hardman was the oldest SON of George Benjamin Hardman. I had miss spoke and put in brother by mistake. Further information on Willie Ann's mother Sarah Jane (Burdett) Cain, Board, she died in 1899 in Fairfield, Washington Co, Ohio. After William Cains' death she married Gamaliel Board (Bord) 2 Sept,1868 their issue was: Ervin C, Minnie Belle, Alonzo A, William T, Margaret A, M(organ) Webster, Okey (Johnson), and Elza R. If anyone has info on my grandmothers half siblings, please let me know? Thanks

I have been stuck on bell cain for a while. have you made any progress on her. I would assume if she was native american, then you willnot be able to find any heratige info online, as all native lines are spread my family to family.

She was in Canada until 1919 and went to live in Norwich, England.
I have been searching for her family for many years and have only just found out her correct surname.
If you had any more info, I would love you to get in touch.
Angela Crush

Charles W Cain - Mary Petrie - Wisconsin - Iowa Family

I am looking to find more information on Charles W Cain, who married Mary Petrie about 1891 in Wisconsin. Charles has two conflicting birth years, depending on which census you look at. One year is 1863 and the other is 1866.

Charles and Mary had two sons, Charles W and Frederick.

I can find information for Charles Sr and Mary for 1900, 1910 and 1915. The sons I have information on in later years as well. I have also found some earlier years on Mary Petrie.

I cannot seen to find any parental information on Charles Sr. His census says he was born in Wisconsin, but the 1900 and 1910 have him living in Iowa. His father is listed as being from England and his mother from Wisconsin.

If anyone has any leads to the parents of Charles W Cain or even earlier, I would appreciate any help.

Thank you.

Hi! I'm looking for information about my great great grandma Bell Cain. Her name is about all I know about her. She married James William Francis Hall and had at least one child Francis Hall in 1908 in Kentucky. Bell passed when Francis was very young and James W F Hall remarried Lizzie Hawkins.

Other child of Bell Cain may be...
Carrie Hall
Birdie Hall
Susan Hall

I have always been told she was an Indian or had Indian heritage.

I would like to know her birthdate deathdate and when she married James W F Hall.

John Cain 1690-1757 Edgecombe County NC

I have a dead end that I hope someone can help me with. John Cain left a will in 1755 in Edgecombe County (proven 1757), in which he names his wife Sarah (Hodges) and children Jonathan, Abijah, Zipporah, and Jerusha. Jerusha was my 6g grandmother who married a Needham Bryan.

While there were definitely other Cains in the area, I have been unable either to identify who John's father was or what happened to the other siblings. None of them left a paper trail that I have been able to find online.

They share some of these unusual given names with another family of Cains that originated in SC, but I do not know what the connection may be. Any help much appreciated. Thanks.

I,too, express my apologies for the delay. We went on a cruise then drove to AZ for the winter. Now I have some time to catch-up.

Thanks for checking the grave-site of Willie Belle.

Are we talking about William Marion Cain, Jr? I have no knowledge of his burial place but as his wife, Charity, was buried in Old DeKalb Cemetery in 1897 is there an unmarked grave or anything there that could be William's? William, Sr is buried in Redwater Cem., Redwater, Bowie TX. It would seem to be that Wm, Jr must be somewhere in TX. A big state, I know.

I have given all my Cain Family info to Hugh Cain, the 92 yoa grandson of William, Jr. Possibly he'll recollect something.

Thanks again
pat
Hi, cousin, I am Diana Hardman, George B granddaughter. I have the information you wanted and hope you have info for me also. For years we didn't know anything about Willie Ann, that is before I received Ancestry as present. Macklin is the oldest brother of George, I guess he did not move to Akron with the rest of the family. I am Russell Edward's youngest daughter. The only person I know was Uncle Dorse and family. I hope you are still on this message board so I can give you the info. Grandpa moved the family after Willie Ann passed.

Hi Tonya, I have just returned to Ancestry and saw your message. I do not have a lot but will share what I have. Its easier for me to do this by email so please respond to macklyn1@aol.com and we can share what we have. I am related to the Hardman's and according to my info Willie Ann married George Benjamin Hardman and one of their sons was my grandfather. Excited to hear from you and look forward to sharing what we both have. Macklyn
