I am researching Edward Cairns, who came to Philadelphia from the Belfast area of Ireland in 1879. He was born in Ireland and married Mary Clugston there. They had a daughter Ann (1878-1881) who died in Philadelphia. A relative named James might have remained overseas. We have a letter from him from Dunkirk. I hope that this information may be of help.
