If you obtain the birth Registration for May CAIRNS born around 1900, it will not only give the names of her parents, it will say when and where they married. Given that data, you can work backwards in time and find other documentation on their lives and other children. The 1921 Marriage Registration you have should give the full names of both parents and their ages at the marriage. Write if you have questions on obtaining birth Registrations from Scotland, they can be downloaded for a low fee on the internet at a Genealogy site called www.ScotlandsPeople.gov.uk/ I've used them for over 7 years and can answer questions.
