John Cairns Jean Weir Family Mauchline, Ayr, Scotland to???

Children of the above couple lived in Mauchline, Ayr till 1881 census, then disappeared. They were John Anthony Cairns born 1862, William Weir Ciarns born 1863. James Gordon Cairns born 1867, Thomas Heenan Cairns born 1869, Thomas Cairns born 1871, Robert Cairns born 1873. Jane b 1875, Sarah 1877, Thomas 1878, Mary Clark Cairn born 1888.
This family could have left Scotland after 1881 and immigrated to any number of countries. Hope someone out there can help me find them. Thank you, Jen
