Looking for biological father of Carol Winterroth

Surnames: campbell, winterroth
My mother-in law's name is Carol Schaefer. She was born as Carol Winterroth 06/15/1945 in Laredo, TX. She was adopted by Bob Schaefer and all of her birth records were changed at that time. Her mother's name is Esther Winterroth. Her biological father's first name is unknown, but last name was Campbell. He might have been in the military at the time she was conceived. There may have been a custody battle between biological father and mother prior to her adoption. Please let me know if you have any information.
