We may have corresponded in the past via snail-mail but I have his name as James Hampton Augustus Rawlings Campfield / VonCampfeldt. I don't know who his 1st wife was but his second wife was Nancy (Sisson) Pierce whom he married 2 Sept. 1863 in Boston, Mass., but they lived in Fall River, Mass. It was her 2nd marriage.

I'm sure I don't have as much detail as you do but I know about some of this family - contact me if you want to.
Dr. James Hampton Campfield (1835-1883). I have a copy of James' September 1863 Massachusetts application for his marriage to Nancy Sisson. He indicated that his father was Maurice A. Campfield from Louisiana, and that his mother was Mary McIntosh from South Carolina. The application further indicates that this was his second marriage. I also have James' October 1863 announcement for the opening of his medical practice that appeared in a Fall River, Massachusetts newspaper. James indicated that he had been recently in Jackson, Mississippi after 2 1/2 years as a surgeon with the Army. James was listed as a 1878 graduate of the University of Iowa, Hahnemann Medical College, Keokuk, Iowa. I have additional information for anyone interested in family research.

Feel free to contact Bill Campfield at billcamp@nycap.rr.com.

I'd love to see the information that you have on this line just in case there is something we have missed.

I also have some pictures from the Hanover, New Jersey grave site of my ancestors if anyone else is interested in those. Please reply if you are.

I've listed all the surnames that we have found ancestors listed under. I believe some of them may have later on changed to Canfield as well.

Candace Campfield Johnson

Lulu Campfield, 1885, Michigan

Help!!! I am looking for any info on Lulu Campfield that was possibly born in Michigan on or around 17 Jul 1885 in Clyde, St Clair, Michigan. She married Clesson Hill on 30 Dec 1903 on or around 30 Dec 1903. I found this information on familysearch.org but can't find any other information. It says her parents are Wesley Campfield and Mary Vannven. I did see a 1900 Census with her name on it that I believe is her but it shows her father as Allen Campfield (Born: Jul 1841) and mother as Mary J. (Born: Jan 1847). It shows her siblings as Eva (March 1872) and Fredrick (May 1884). Lulu and Clesson had a son named Allen Hill on 25 Jun 1905 in Michigan but on a 1911 Census it shows Lulu, Clesson and Allen in Canada. Please let me or my wife know at roughrecon@yahoo.com or tiana_peters@yahoo.com.
Dear Tom,

If you'd like your book to be available for posterity, I would seriously consider donating a copy to the Society of Genealogists Library in London. This has long been one of the principal repositories for published genealogical material in the world, and although they operate on a limited budget they are always happy to receive donated books. Their website is www.sog.org.uk, and this contains their address and library specific contact details. This would make the fruits of your work available in Europe as well as the US.

Best wishes,

Ian Hall (Member, Society of Genealogists, London)

Public Library, Seattle Public Library, I believe Connecticut State Library, Washington State Library, perhaps a few others.

It was limited edition, hard-cover and cost me $110.00 per copy to produce. It's something over 400 pages and follows various allied lines back into antiquity.

Tom

My information is that the deCamville boys took part in the Battle of Hastings (1066). I would have to go back, however, and check my material from 1996 when I last worked on family genealogy.
However, my line of Camfields, working back through Northamptonshire, sort of peters
out around 1500 or so.
I did do a book, an extremely spendy thing in hard back. I have a few extra copies. If you have a decent library near you with a genealogical section worth talking about, I might be inclined to donate a copy if they are wiling to accept it and someone will send me their address.
I will not check this board regularly, so you should e-mail me: camfield@olympus.net
