John CANNING(S)

Recent searches at familysearch.org have located a possible birth and christening of my John CANNING(S) at Wilton by Salisbury, Wiltshire, UK in 1805.

This record shows John was the son of James CANNINGS and Mary (unknown).

John married Maria Ann DUDMAN probably at Ludgershall where the couple worked at the nearby Biddesden Hall before emigrating to NSW in 1839. John died in 1845

I'd love to hear from anyone with connections to this family.

William Cannings & Elizabeth Wilkins

Hello - I am trying to find information about William Canning(s) and his wife Elizabeth Wilkins, who were married in 1791 at New Brentford, Middlesex. I am, more importantly, trying to find information on their offspring. The only one I have is William Samuel, b.1821 in Hertfordshire - but as you can see there is a 30 year gap, and I'm sure they must of have more than one child.
Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Kody594, Could you reply to my email below, please? Mary Ann's brother William "Will" Jr. was my great-great grandfather. Turns out, he seems to have been a cad. Even found a court record of one of his divorces. His first wife (of 4) was my ancestor. Also have William Sr. and Sarah's wills from Henderson historical society. William Sr., though you may already know, was a much-loved fire chief in Henderson for several years.

William Cannings and Sarah Cannings are my great great grandparents. Their daughter Mary Ann Cannings born 1869 was my great grandmother. Mary Ann Cannings married Joseph Harrison Davis and their daughter Zella Corrine Davis was my grandmother.

I have in my posession a picture Christmas card, black and white, of 4 young girls with the inscription on the back "Merry Christmas from the Cannings" Al & Doreen, Janice, Cathy, Shelley and Nancy. I am researching William (1835-1894) and Sarah Cannings in Henderson, KY, and would like to compare notes with others having a link to this family. They came from Staffordshire, England, near Birmingham, about 1867.

your james i belive was the son of the sarah west brook he is with in the 1871 census.

sarah married a james cannings/cannons during the dec q of 1855

Marriages Dec 1855

MYRTLE Sarah Alresford 2c 253

james died

Deaths Dec 1864

Cannings James Basingstoke 2c 113

and she then married charles westbrook

Marriages Jun 1866

Cannings Sarah Basingstoke 2c 287
Westbrook Charles Basingstoke <2c 287

and had a son william

Have you been able to find your Ann Cannings, did you get their marriage as that would give her fathers name.

I could check on 1841 for you if you have the information.
