I am looking for info regarding the Cardenas Family. Lazaro is my great grandmother's first cousin. My mother went to visit him in office when he was becoming President.

I met Cuauhtemoc at an immigration discussion in the community and gave him a photo of my grandfather and info regarding my connection to the Cardenas Family. Hoping he will email me back with more info but not holding my breath as he is a busy man! illph1212@yahoo.com

I recently had the honor of meeting Cuauhtemoc Cardenas,Lazaro's son at a discussion on immigration. I gave him a photo of my grandfather Jose Maria Camorlinga Cardenas and on the back I described how we were related. i gave him my email and asked to see if he could send me info.
I told him my mother went to see Lazaro Cardenas in office when he was on his way to becoming President of Mexico.
Cuauhtemoc is a very busy man and I'm not sure he will email me, but if he does anything would be great!!!

My mother remembers going to visit him in his office when he was about to become President. We believe his sister Margarita married my great grandfather but we are not 100% sure. Well I have found that Juan de Cardenas and Juana de Requena had a few children. They had a son named Alonso de Cardenas he was babtized june 2nd 1590 in District Federal.
Juan and Juana were married in Nov 27th 1583 Centro, DF.
What else I have found is that Juan de Cardenas was from Spain. He arrived in 1576 so he could go to School. Still can't find anything on his parents. But he was from Andulucia, Constantina, Sevilla, Espana (Spain). You will find some information on him because he was a Doctor and a writer.

My line is ALONSO DE CARDENAS Y REQUENA, ALONSO DE CARDENAS Pinillas, Alonso Cardenas Guerra, Nicolas de Cardenas Trevino, Francisco (jose) Cardenas Flores de Abrego, Vincente de Cardenas Ruiz, Pedro Jose Damian Cardenas Hernandez, Daniel Cardenas Flores, Manuel Cardenas Cuellar.
I am putting all the Cardenas family tree together. So many families that have Cardenas in them and no one has just one tree. So if you can add to my finding it will help out with this huge puzzle. If you have noticed that in 1700's for the Cardenas family they used the Cardenas Pinillas for a last name. It was to separate them from the other Cardenas families. As i get family trees from Cardenas families I add them to the tree.

Lazaro Cardenas paternal grandmother was RAFAELA PINEDO so that means your grandmother must have been a child of Rafaela's siblings which I do not know who they are?
Can you share your grandmothers name as well as her parents or grandparents name (and any dates if possible)so we can all understand the whole family tree.
Did she ever mention a aunt named RAFAELA?

My grandmother told us when we were little kids that she lived in the presidential palace when her cousin Lazaro Cardenas was president. Her name at the time was Pinedo. Could that be possible?

You are about as close as it gets. My family in Zamora were always invited to the governors mansion, Guatemo was there at that time. I don't know how close we are related though.

Hi, I am also a Cardenas. My Father always spoke of our being related to Lazaro Cardenas. Our family lives in Michoacan. They were invited to the Governor's mansion when Guatemo was there and they had Cardenas family reunions. I was never able to attend. I don't know Lazaro's brothers names. Will try to do a search. You couldn't find it online? Do you know the story of how the Cardenas family came to Mexico. I met a well to do Cardenas gentleman who went to spain to find out where out family came from and how they arrived in Mexico. It seems the family line goes back to Arabia. Omar Carden came to spain they they were fighting the Moors. He had sons who were the sons of Carden or "carden-as". The sons of Carden came with Cortez to both Cuba and Mexico and that is how we came to be. I never forgot the story and I knew I would never have enough money to search it out for myself. He was wearing the Cardenas ring. Good luck.

My father grew up in mexico city but was not born there they went to mexico city because my grandfather and 3 brothers were on the governments side, they were born in jalisco, small town near lake chapalla

My husbands grandmother is Gudelia Cardenas Carranza.
His mothers name is Maria Wolf Cardenas. Venustiano Carranza was Gudelia's uncle.
