Indiana CARNAHANS

Classification: Query
Surnames: HANDICK & CARNAHAN
Just yesterday I stumbled onto a marriage record for a David L CARNAHAN into my very Germanic family tree of HANDICK. The young couple were David L CARNAHAN and Augusta M HANDICK. He was born Feb 1860 in Ohio & she was born Sep 1869 in Vigo County, Indiana. They married 24 Feb 1892 & had two children: a boy born 11 Dec 1892 and a daughter, Lillie B CARNAHAN, born Jan 1896. I've found a record of Augusta's death 23 Jul 1902 in Terre Haute, Vigo, Indiana but haven't been able to find out anymore about her. I haven't yet been able to find anything more about David or the daughter Lillie, or if there were any other children. Also, the male child born in 1892 wasn't listed in the 1900 Census but I haven't yet found a record of his death either.

I knew this sister of my grandfather's had existed, but had always been told that she went back to Germany when she grew up. It's a little startling to learn that no, she didn't.

Just wondering if this might match up with records someone on this board might have or if you could point me in the direction I need to go in order to find more info.

Blessings,
JoannH
