Tengo a un tal. Francisco xavier carrera que nacio en el 1755 si lo tienes en tu arbol comunicate conmigo..

Me da gusto saber informacion de tus abuelos. Que es la fecha de nacimiento de ellos?
Descubri mas informacion de mi bis-abuela Maria Teodora Carrera. Ella nacio 1879 en San Fernando, Mapimi, Durango, Mexico. Sus padres fueron Ildefonso Carrera y Anacleta Ramos. Sus abuelos paternos fueron Jose Damacio Carrera Medina (Nazas, Dgo, Mx. 1787)y Feliciana Torres; abuelos maternos fueron Reyes Ramos y Marcelina Viana. Su bis-abuelo paterno fue Santiago Carrera.
Quizá tengamos algunos ante-pasados en comun.
Ojala que encuentres los nombres de tus bis-abuelos para que pudieramos comparar datos.

Yo soy originaria de Durango Mexico, del municipio de Tepehuanes. Yo soy Carrera por parte de mi Padre, Mi abuelo se llamaba Heriberto Carrera quien se caso con Martina Navar, tuvieron cuatro hijos Estanislado Carrera, Leonardo Carrera, Rafaela Carrera y mi papa, Jose de Jesus Carrera. Buscare mas informacion sobre los nombres de mis bis-abuelos. Tambien tengo curiosidad por saber el origen de mi familia. Tengo familiares tambien con el apelativo Ramos.

My great grandfather was born in Cuba so I guess his parents were there already? I know he was political and a mayor of some city there. I also found out we have the name of MONET from a female's side, probably his wife.

I had his picture which looked old as sin maybe Abraham Lincoln times or earlier but I got robbed and it's missing. He was very pale white but his wife looked arabic with long wavy dark hair and skin. Ironically, I am the only one who looks like him, everyone else in my family looks different. OH, and our last name has the hyphen on top of the o but it's hard to place it on the computer. I hate writing my name without the hyphen.

I know my dad had a cousin called bebe in Puerto Rico and he had 2 kids a boy and a girl. They were grown up when I met them. All I know is that he used to have like a portable Lunch truck type of deal.

I am trying to establish a connection between the Carbós fromSant Feliú de Guixols, Catalonia (Cataluña) who went to New Orleans. Way back in the 1850's or 1860's, they left Spain. Some of those Carbós went to Puerto Rico, such as Lorenzo Carbó y Gorbea. One of his sons, Carlos Carbó y Ballau, went to New Orleans around 1918, along with his family, after his wife died. Surely because there were other Carbó or Ballau relatives there.

His daughter Rita Carbó Lebrón married Warren G. Kelly and had several children. Among them, Rita Mae and Warren G. junior. They used to live at Magazine Street. They still have relatives in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico. Should anyone know their descendants, please reply to this thread.

Gavino Carrera - New Mexico's Carreras

I've started this thread simply to get my family ancestors on here for others who may be from my same family line. Gavino Carrera was married to Carolina Luchini and they had 9 children named Emma, Adelina (Handicapped), Edmundo, Arnulfo, Santiago (Jimmy), Elvira, Julieta, Maria, and Sigfredo (who died after birth and was the twin brother to Elvira). They lived in the Rincon area of New Mexico in the early 1900's.

I am looking for any information on my great-grandparents: Lorenca Hernandez Carrera and Norberto Carrera. Their son, my grandfather, was John Nepomuceno Carrera. They came to El Paso, Texas from Mexico during the Mexican Revolution.
On my grandmother's side is Andres Duron/Luevano and Exiquia Aguilar. I can't find any info on Exiquia's father Felipe Aguilar. Would you have any information?

Hi, I'm also researching the Carrera name. From what I know personally, my grandfather, Julio Carrera, was also from Sicily. I don't know how, or why, or even exactly when he came here for that matter. lol But Im going to find out.

Several days ago I was talking to my brother-in-law, Edmund Arnuflo Carrera(Ed)about family and he really would like to know more about his family history. He mentioned that one of his ancestors was an Italian, Dominico Luchini , who's daughter Carolina Luchini is his grandmother. Carolina married Gabino (or Gavino) Carrera. So for several days I have been out on Ancestry.com looking at census, military and other records to try to fill in the blanks.

This evening by chance I went out on the Community site of Ancestry and found your messages posted in 2006. What excitement to find one of Ed's cousins that has been researching the family.

Would you be willing to share what you have learned on the Carrera and Luchini lines?

Researching this surname, have traced it so far to the Azores to about the 1830's, to Antonio & Rosa Jacinta Carreiro, of, Sao Pedro Rib. Seca R. Grande, Sao Miguel, Azores. Their son's family was found on the passenger list Portugal to Hawaii ("ARRIVALS IN HAWAII"), sheet 13 on the ship S.S. HANSA, 9 September 1882 from St. Michaels, under the name of Jacintha do Amaral age 29, and Jacintho Carreiro (FEIJO),age 27. Sometime before or during early to mid 1890, this family removed from Hawaii to San Jose, Santa Clara Co., CA, where my husband Robert B. Gregory, Jr's great grandfather Nicholas Stanley Carrera was born 4 Nov 1890. From what I understand, the family changed the spelling of the name Carreiro to Carrera about 1882 to 1885. Am trying to contact descendants of Antonio & Rosa to exchange information! Edward G. Carrera

I am doing research and trying to find information on Edward G. Carrera, born on July 6, 1871, died on Feb 11, 1945, in Manila during the Liberation. He received a diploma from the Dept of Public Education for having graduated from San Francisco Commercial School in 1890. He is listed in the 1890 San Francisco, California Directory as a student residing at 785 Folsom. He served in the National Guard of California as Ensign, and was discharged on May 25, 1894. He later went to the Philippines as a soldier, where he married and raised a family.

I would like to find out more about his family in California. Brothers, sisters, cousins, aunts, uncles, neices, nephews, etc.

The marriage record for Pedro Carrera and Evangelista Perea lists their parents as Juan Jose Carerra and Dolores Borregos (AKA: Vasquez) and Francisco Perea and Viviana Ramiris (AKA: Ramires, Garcia).

I don't know if you have this information yet regarding your Carrera family. An entry in the Record of Interments for St. Frances de Salas church, Rodey, New Mexico states: Enero 1 (1906) Pedro Carreras; place of birth, Socorro, TX. So, looking in the 1841 census for Socorro (Texas) extracted and published in 1988 is your family:

Juan Jose Carrera (H), 46, married, Farm worker
Maria Dolores Vasquez, 38, Married, in care of husband
Florentina Carrera, 16, single, in care of father
Agripina Carrera, 14, single, in care of father
Placida Carrera, 12, single, in care of father
Rafaela Carrera, 10, single, in care of father
Simona Carrera, 7, child, in care of father
Silvestra Carrera, 5, single, in care of father
Pedro Jose Carrera, 1, single, in care of father

Do you have information that Pedro Carrera and Evangelista Perea had a daughter named Monica? I believe this Monica married Petronilo Silva. This couple had a daughter named Encarnacion Silva who married Hignio Silva at St. Frances de Salas Church in 1901. They had a daughter named Monica Silva. I spoke to her many years ago and she told me that her family was related to Gabino Carrera but she didn't know how. She is still living and is about 98. Encarnacion Silva raised my father-in-law, Jimmy Silva. Have you ever heard of this particular family?

Lately, I have found that Julián Carrera and Basilisa Barragán were married in 1856 in Venado, S.L.P., he was from Hacienda del Carro and she was from Villa de Ramos.
The record stablished that by the time of the wedding he was 28 years old and she was 14 years old.
He was the sun of Andrés Carrera and Josefa Ramírez both living in La Concordia.
I have found until know records for two of their kits, Adolfo(1857 born in Venado) and Je. Trinidad (born in Zacatecas around 1870).
The only possible record found for Andres is one that shows one Andres Avelino born in 1811 in Real de Catorce, but I don't have yet the possibility to confirm.

I am married to a cousin of the Carrera family you are requesting info about. Unfortunately, Arthur died a couple of years ago. I am the daughter-in-law of Arthur's brother, Sam (Salvatore) who died a month before Arthur did.
Arthur and Ginny have three daughters, two are twins. Two live on Nantucket the third in NJ, i believe. Although i lost touch when the brothers died, i still have connections to the family, if needed.
