Hannah Carteret Bryant

I am looking for information on Hannah Carteret who married Cornelius Bryant in New Jersey. According to the Carteret and Bryant Genealogy by Catherina Baetjer, Hannah is a lineal descendant of Sir George de Carteret, but I believe the genealogy is wrong. There is too much disparity in dates for Hannah to be the daughter of Elizabeth Carteret, grand-daughter of James Carteret and Frances DeLaval, and great-grand-daughter of Sir George de Carteret.

Re: Thomas carteret

Dennis,

I can now connect a Thomas Carteret with my line!

When I last posted, I was back to Joseph Warneck Carteret Sr. (born 1770) I now know that Daniel Carteret and Elizabeth Jones Carteret are Joseph's parents. Daniel was born in 1733 in Philadelphia. Elizabeth was born about 1743 in Philadelphia. They were married on 24 Dec 1761 in Christ Church in Philadelphia. (Daniel, Elizabeth, Joseph and his wife, Esther are all buried together in the Christ Church Burial Grounds) While at Christ Church, I was checking through the marriage register and noticed a second Carteret listing---there was an entry for Thomas Carteret married to Catharine Morgan on 20 Nov 1729 in Christ Church in Philadelphia. I am relatively certain that this is Daniel's parents (The surname Morgan appears as a middle name for William Morgan Carteret born abt 1812)

With a marriage in 1729, this should place Thomas' date of birth somewhere in the late 1690's or very early 1700's. Do you see any connections here?

Keeping my fingers crossed!
Nancy
