I "think" that the Jonathan Cash who married Sarah Fitzgerald "may" have been the son of John Cash and Ann Shaw.

John Cash & Ann Shaw had a son, Jonathan, who was born in about 1775 in Maryland. As I know that at least a couple of John's & Ann's daughters (both married Plummers) moved south, it would make sense that a couple of their sons did, too.

John & Ann also had a son, Richard, born in about 1855, that I suspect ended up in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky.

When you look at all the repeition of names in children, grandchildren, etc., involved, it's a pretty strong suggestion for kinship. BUT, I have no proof of those connections and I would love it if somebody discovered some. Chances are that at that point there weren't any death certificates or anything, but perhaps someone will turn up a biography of the southern Cashes that will help make connection between some of the "southern" Cashes and the "Maryland" Cashes.

For Aaron Cash, i have these children:

Silas (1798-1850), Drury Aaron (1802-1876), Joseph Elam (my line)(1810-?), Arthur (1811-1874), Henderson (1812-1850).

I'm not sure if there is more, i haven't done much with this line yet. My dates may be off, so don't take them as 100%.

Hope this helps.

Hi
I've done some more checking and Emily married George Q3 1909 in Birmingham. I carn't find Emily in the 1901 census but have found possible Emily in 1891 census whose parents were Thomas b 1853 Blacksmith, Jane b 1854 and 3 siblings Thomas b 1881, Albert b 1888 & Kate b 1890. However the really strange thing is I carn't find Emily's birth there is no online record for Emily Cash born Q4 1875 or Q1 1876 in Warwickshire. I suggest you check the Birth records at your local family history office or get in touch with GRO as without that certificate you carn't be sure the census record I've found is correct.
Regards
Angela

Hi
Angela
thanks very much for your info on Emily Cash
she was born on the 10 Dec 1875 ,I believe possibly in Birmingham as I was born in Ledsam Street Ladywood Birmingham uk in 1947 & I lived with both my parents George Henry Sly Esther Alice Sly nee Bagley & my grandparents Emily Leah Sly nee Cash & George Sly until I was 6 yrs old when I had to move into my Aunt Veras at Rednal Birmingham because I had Asthma & my parents were informed that I needed to be moved to clearer air away from Ladywood so my parents got a flat in Kings Norton Birmingham when I was 8 years old so I could live back with them. My Grandma Emily died on 9 June 1958 when I was eleven, hope this helps a little and thanks again for your interest.
regards

June, I don't have an Emily Leah Cash in my line but I checked some onlune Cheshire records I have access to and found only two Emily Cash in the Cheshire area 10 years either side of 1876. They are
Emily Cash Chr 01 Oct 1876 Capenhurst to George and Mary Cash. George's occupation is Farmer and
Emily Cash Chr 05 Nov 1876 Nether Knutsford to Samuel and Elizabeth Cash Samuel occupation is Lawyer.
Both these families appear on the cencus returns. Do you know Emily Leah's birthday or place of birth so we can narrow it down.
Hope this helps
Regards
Angela

Re: CASH - GREENE, TENNESSEE

Elijah Gray and Minnie O. Cash were married March 17, 1890 in Greene County, Tennessees. Elijah Gray was the son of Jeremiah Gray and Mahala Banner. Elijah and Minnie are listed in the 1900 Roane County, Tennessee Federal Census. They had 4 children at the time: Philip L., Suttie, Louisa, and Mahalie A. On the following census page, Mahaley Banner (Gray), his mother, Jasper and Lewis, his brothers, are also listed as part of Elijah's household. We are working to determine if Elijah changed his name when he moved East. John Henry Mitchel is listed as the husband of Minnie Okey Cash (Gray) on her death certificate. Did Elijah change his name? Are the children of JH - Philip, Sletie, Lula, Annie the same children lised on the 1900 census? Is Ann M. Lewis the Mahalie A. listed on the 1900 census with Elijah? I think it is intriguing that Ann M. Lewis left notes about JH's brothers listing children of Jeremiah and Mahala Gray. What is also interesting is that Ann M. Lewis noted that John Henry Mitchel had a brother named John and a brother named Henry and that his brother Dr. John Gray lived in Knoxville. We know that Mahala Banner Gray was only married once to Jeremiah Gray, so where did the Mitchel last name originate?

As of right now, there are approximately 10 of us that are at a "road block" with our Henderson "Hentz" Cash. We are told that Hentz was his nickname as supposedly his father was also Henderson Cash, Sr. However, we only KNOW the wives and children for our Henderson "Hentz" Cash, but we do not know who his parents were nor if he had siblings. I have spoken directly by phone to Henry Cash who still lives on Henry Cash Road in Mayo, SC and his sister, as well as his nephew, David Henderson Cash. These people would all be related to you. They, no doubt, have pictures of Wilkins, as they talked about him over the phone with me.

Each was only married once. They had a son named Henry Thompson, but he was married to Sarah Clementine Gardner.
Do you know any siblings of your Henderson (Hense )? Henderson and Henry was a very well used name in the family. So was Benjamin.
I will keep in contact.
Joyce

My gg grandfather is Henderson Cash born in 1820 and first married to Louisa M. (?) and later to a Delilah Rollins Cash who was the mother of my g grandfather, Romelus (Romillus) Cash. I do not know who the father of Henderson Cash is although several people have told me it was Henderson Cash of 1802. However, I cannot find anything to substantiate this nor if he could have had a wife prior to Regina. It has been stated that Rebecca Dobbins (Ezekiel and Elizabeth Betsy Stevens Dobbins daughter) was married to Henderson Cash born in 1802 but I am having trouble verifying this. Ezekiel's will does say that at the age of 57, Rebecca is back home living with him.

I have relatives buried at New Pleasant (Romelus and Lou Ella Cash, etc.). I am stumped on his father Henderson Cash 1820 and wives Louisa M. (?) and a Delilah Rollins Cash. Their youngest daughter, Louisa, whose brother was Romelus is also buried at New Pleasant (Louisa Cash Hutchins and John Hutchins). However, I cannot find their parents Henderson and Delilah Cash.

Henderson Cash was married to Regina Pomelia Taylor. He is buried in an old Cemetery with lots of markers that are just stones in the Mayo S.C. area. His son Edward Steven is my Great Great Grandfather. He was married to Martha Catherine Gardner both are buried at Graham chapel in Mayo. The other son Henry Thompson was married to Marthas sister Sarah Clementine Gardner ,also at Graham Chapel. I have pictures of Edward Steven and Regina.I also have pictures of Regina and I think of Henderson.I have never seen a picture of Wilkins Cash. He was never married. Augusta was married to Thomas (Tommy)Jefferson Haynes (both at Graham Chapel)Samantha Louise was married to R.L. (Lawson) Blanton buried at Buck Creek Cemetery. Julia Etta was married to Calvin Turner both are at Graham Chapel.
I don't know where you live but a trip to Graham Chapel Cemetery is necessary. Buck Creek Cemetery is also a needed trip.
Henderson Cash born in 1802: his parents are Aaron Cash and Betsy Stephens.

I live in Richmond Va. (32 years) I have a lot of info on the Cash family just not as organized as I would like.I went to schhol (1,2,3,)in Mayo.
How are you related to Henderson or the Cash family?
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Joyce Cash Johnson
JHNS8840@aol.com

Hello, I'm looking into the Cash's of Wilmslow right now. I have tracked my father's line back to Thomas Cash 1694, and John cash 1663. Now I'm a bit stuck as there seem to be many Cash records in Wilmslow. I'm new to all this - doing it for my mum who started the tree, and is now elderly, my dad died a few weeks ago.

Speedy reply - thank you! The Cashs sort of adopted me, as I lived across the hall from them in an apartment building on Shenandoah Ave., St. Louis. We spent wonderful times together both there, and at "the farm" outside of Frankford, MO.
I'll attach a couple of photos and scans of their funeral prayer cards (if I can do that here(?)

Feel free to privately email me at tom.amy.jones@gmail.com - I certainly don't mind wandering down THAT memory lane!

Also, in case you're not aware, you may want to check "www.tmason1.com", where Sallie Belle is mentioned.

Thanks for the reply. I'd forgotten about the original post back in 2003. Since then, I've managed to get a pretty good bit of info focused on my line (Pauline's aunt Sallie Belle (Fisher) Mantiply. However, I'd appreciate anything you would be willing to share. If you have pictures scanned electronically or online, that would be great. The only pics I have of this line are of Thad Mantiply (Sallie's husband). Of course, I'd like to hear about Wirt and Pauline. Thanks again.
