I have a good line going back to Jacob Castle of Russell county, Virginia. My great grandfather's death record states his parents as Goldman Castle and Rachel Sargent. Goldman and Rachel were married in Scott County, Virginia and moved to Somerset, Kentucky with William Castle and Margaret Cox in the 1840s. William Castle's death record states his parents as Jacob and Martha Castle of Russell county, Virginia. You can find William on the early census records of Russell county, but his name was spelled William Cassell then. His father Jacob also alternated between the spelling Cassell/Castle. Jacob b.1749 is believed to be the son of the older Jacob and Gliding Swan. I'm really hoping to clarify the different Castle family lines on the Virginia frontier. I've seen other Castles with the R1a haplogroup online, but there is no way to contact them. I'm trying to gather as much information as I can. Thanks.
